Doesn't take away that Corvette's are badass cars + the sound is something a Porsche can't match :)

I will happily admit that the ZR1 is walking all over a lot of European Supercars at the moment but consider this before you go saying "overpriced Euro trash" - In the middle of a global recession Ferrari have a 4 year waiting list on the California and the £1,000.000 Aston Martin One-77 are already sold out. The reason most of those cars are overpriced is because of their limited run. Manufactures have to make up the amount that was put into R&D. So your point is made just stay away from people that are uneducated or ignorant.
Exactly. I find it very annoying sometimes when the Americans try to take all the credit for the ZR1's braking abilities and grip which is mainly down to the major European components. I actually like the ZR1, it deserves a lot of credit where it's due but there is no need to write off the Europeans when we ave played a big part in getting it to where it is.
The reason that they are proced so high is cuz everyone and their neighbor don't have a european sports car. They will turn way more heads than a corvette and are almost just as fast.

my point is that that's not hard to do. anybody can put a million horsepower into a car. it's especially easy to do when you don't have to be bothered with handling, comfort, or quality. which is why the veyron weighs two tons and costs $7 million to make each one.
idg why you take some kind of nationalistic pride in the ultimate aero. i'm american too, and all i see is a car that's what american cars always were. crude and fast in a straight line. it just takes it to an extreme.

not really, i'm just saying that the ultimate aero isn't really a huge accomplishment for the americans. that's what makes the bugatti, mclaren, koenigsegg, and every other car that once held the fastest production car title. they went catostrophically quickly and confidently around the corners as well, something that the ultimate aero can never do despite what you'll claim.

@1aceves The veyron is fast but ugly as sin. It better be fast with that kind of displacement. I read that it needs its WHEELS changed every 30000 miles to the tune of 75 grand! And when you get your 30,000 mile service, they have to split the car in half to do it. All that car is good for is proving that you have millions of dollars to flush!

Careful what you say. I will happily admit that the ZR1 is walking all over a lot of European Supercars at the moment but consider this before you go saying "overpriced Euro trash" - In the middle of a global recession Ferrari have a 4 year waiting list on the California and the £1,000.000 Aston Martin One-77 are already sold out. Whereas General Motors are in financial ruin. Bear in mind the breaks and tires (for example) on the ZR1 are European too. No offense to the US at all.

careful what you say because there are a lot of parts from GM that are in those "overpriced Euro trash" cars- In fact pretty much every car sold on the market today has GM parts in them. Not hating on any european cars but its true.

Yeah you are right, a lot of manufacturers do use GM parts. I'm just making a point that people can't simply go calling cars overpriced when clearly that is what people are willing to pay for them. Like I said, people are willing to pay £1 million for an Aston Martin that won't be setting any lap records - calling cars overpriced simply because they don't go round the 'Ring as fast as you might expect is ignorant and completely unjustified.

The reason most of those cars are overpriced is because of their limited run. Manufactures have to make up the amount that was put into R&D. So your point is made just stay away from people that are uneducated or ignorant.

Exactly. I find it very annoying sometimes when the Americans try to take all the credit for the ZR1's braking abilities and grip which is mainly down to the major European components. I actually like the ZR1, it deserves a lot of credit where it's due but there is no need to write off the Europeans when we ave played a big part in getting it to where it is.

The reason that they are proced so high is cuz everyone and their neighbor don't have a european sports car. They will turn way more heads than a corvette and are almost just as fast.
