  • Remember that Stargate episode where there's a city in a slowly decaying atmosphere bubble controlled by a computer that programs the inhabitants to downsize their population by suicidal behavior in order to conserve resources rather than seek to explore means of going outside the limits of the computer's control to survive? That's why we don't have moonbases.

  • Obama's leading fundraiser is George Soros, whom after helping the Nazis rob dead Jews pretending not to be one collaborated with Stalin's antj-American Communist social parasites until he moved to America to destroy our ecconomy to make his Apex Silver stocks go up so what did you really expect? Never trust any politician who wants to reduce the population of voters in their own country to support anything beneficial to your survival because its logically not in their game plan.

  • Yeah, it's incredible! After the Shuttle was to have been retired, the U.S. was supposed to have built the Orion CEV, and the Ares 1 rocket to have replaced it as the prime manned space vehicle. That would've been enough to have kept momentum, until it was time to build the Ares 5, and the Altair L-SAM vehicle, for voyaging to & landing on the Moon. But Obama decided to demolish the future of NASA by listening to all these idiot, moron Flexible Path/ Commercial Space advocates!!

  • is HITLER = SHITLER?

  • US Based Space X and Orbital Sciences are each headed to the station early next year to supply it & Space X Falcon will shuttle astronauts up there starting in 2013. Space X's Falcon Heavy will be at Vandenberg for testing in 2012/2013. This is the largest, most powerful US designed and built rocket since Saturn V.

Launching using the private sector is actually cheaper in the long run, and the current Falcon launches are cheaper than the Chinese.

(Was W that started current private program.)

  • @cm1701a so I fund you to build a car for me then you charge me when I want to go somewhere. You are right that does sound cheaper then building a car myself.

  • This was basically my reaction to the news.

  • Hitler has such passion about everything he did. Too bad his passion was to exterminate Jews.

  • @Nomoreidsleft not mainly. that was just a side dish. his main passion was to expand germany and take over europe. and then the WORLD

  • Have you herd yet? president obama has cut the fund's to the conselation program(the mision to go back to the moon and beyond) This video show's a reaction of many people who care more about human endevour's, descovering new medicen's, finding new potential for fuel's of the near future and so on. Then black sex will be all there is to see instead..is that right...yeah , obama is funding black porn..instead of the moon and beyond program....is that right? I dont think so.....................

  • @bloty02 stay away form the drugs

  • @FORZION wow epic spelling fail lol

  • @FORZION

Dude! I love these videos! make more!

  • Oh man! This is hilarious, "formal education is from wikipedia!"

  • Funny you use our space programs old boss for your wittle video....Ironic we got sold a joke for our space historians to be stuck writing about, while our astrophysicists have to remain silent, or refer to Apollo success as LUCK, due to overwhelming evidence that deadly radiation was, and continually awaits any fool leaving the protection of our magnetosphere without proper shielding.

A Santa story for the adults who feared the big bad russkie boogie mans nukes! Let's go catch us some snipes.

  • It saddens me to to see the uninformed think Obama has destroyed human space flight. As a huge space flight fan, I am extremely excited.

  • love it :)

  • This is so wrong in so many ways. ;-)

Btw, did you do it on purpose to put Obama's name in the subtitles when he said Mein Führer, at 0:23?

  • @Nomoreidsleft

Actually it makes sense, he could be starting the sentence "President Obama cancelled the Constellation Program" - that's how I understood it :)

  • "Don't cry, we still have Jersey Shore."

    Classic.

  • look, like i said from the beginning, some day we will send a coon to the moon.

that someday, just is not tomorrow. LOL

  • Von Braum and JFK are rolling in their graves.

  • we are planning on going to the moon by 2020

  • we were planning, obama canceled the program.

  • @sonicchao112244 EARLIER

  • @sonicchao112244 ; Yes: past tense: WERE. Now it'll be LEO for another 20 years. That Obama is one huge flim-flam man! A rhino dung artist! Him and his wishy-washy cronies in Congress should be evicted from office, every damn one of them! The Republicans can do WAY better by NASA & the space program.

  • @smeltriver09 tell us how you really feel lol

  • @smeltriver09 The republicans are the ones that got us stuck in LEO in the first place by shutting down the saturn 5. The constilation program you are all sad over losing was never going to fly with the funding it had. Obama had the curage to cancel this liars promise for a flexable path that will get us back to the moon sooner than constilation would have, even if the fantasy had been real and the Ares rocket it was based on wasn't a boondoggle.

    Obama actualy inceased NASA's funding.

  • Without the Constellation program, NASA will quietly wither and die on the vine. No one is going to the Moon any time soon, unless America leads the way. "We don't do these things because they are easy. We do them because they are hard!"

  • I'm just going to say this - and yes, if we stopped funding wars and funded the space program instead that would be much better - but the reason we haven't been back to the moon or ambitiously continued that program is because the government basically does dislike creativity - they don't want people to do anything beneficial along those lines.

  • What movie is this clip from originally? Who is playing Hitler?

  • Downfall, some german actor.

  • total agree Obama but base That's one small step for back wards engineering, one giant leap back for mankind.

  • Did you see how many people left the room when he told those who didn't vote for Obama to leave? That's allot of McCain supporters in the 3rd reich. Maybe those were the ones who tried to kill him. Hitler did allot of the same nonsense that he's accusing Obama of in this video.

  • Obama has basically destroyed our space program. No wonder people are leaving the party. When he gets done ruining NASA he will turn his attention to his own party. Watch the democrats lose in historic proportion this fall. He is a very bad president. Obama is a nice guy but simply a poor leader.

  • @akear like nearly all us presidents. except the ones that got shot in the face...

  • What's happening over there in America? Ever since Obama became President, you guys seems to be getting weaker and weaker...

  • Hello Sir Sausage,

It was mainly politically correct city people who voted for this Obama character -- the worst president in American history. And personally I don't give a damn what color he is, unlike the idiots who voted for him.

  • The facts are NASA has the only thing going and that path is Ares. Nothing it preventing something else from being worked and even Ares should be replaced when something else comes along that is better. How quickly is that? A long time from now. Ares is one rocket closer to reality and a lot better understood than every other plan. As the general said, a good plan today is better than a great plan tomorrow.

  • "NASA has the only thing going and that path is Ares" SpaceXs' Falcon9 starts flight tests this year in march. It's estimated it could start carrying people to the ISS by 2013-14 which is 2-3 years earlier than Ares I would have been completed.

"Ares is one rocket closer to reality"

You mean half a rocket. The fifth segment and upper stage mass simulators used in Ares I-X don't count.

  • I glad that there is interest in this topic. But I believe that you are mistaken in your facts. No one who understands rockets said a replacement for the shuttle would take less than 5 years or that it could be done for a few million dollars.

  • I think the Jupiter Direct guys said it would take less than 5 years to develop their alternative SDHLV and as for the millions of dollars you're right. The argument isn't that it's cheap to develop a rocket, but that the Ares rockets will be too expensive to develop and maintain. Did you know that NASA had to redirect funds from it's other programs just to keep Constellation going? And it's still not enough. Unless Congress is willing to hand over a few billion $ Constellation will die.

  • I knew they had problems with Ares I, but I thought they were going to just switch to the Direct plan. I never thought they'd cancel the whole Constellation program. They really are placing a lot of faith in the private companies, but that may not be a bad thing. This approach hasn't been tried so far and for all we know less government beaurocracy meddling with the companies might produce better results.

  • Billions over budget? Really, someone explain to me how that is possible. Did NASA go to the banks to borrow more money? You can't be over budget if you live within your budget. The first launch of Ares I-X yielded fantastic results. From what NASA learned with that, they are ready to build the second effort (to be launched in 2011 and the third in 2012). That would have been three of the nine or so that is expected in the series before trying with people. WithIn budget - on schedule

  • "WithIn budget - on schedule"

The development of Ares I was estimated at 14 billion $ at first, but over the years that figure has grown to 35 billion $. When Constellation was completed it would require nearly double of NASA's current budget to operate. Griffin himself said that the program wasn't getting sufficient funding, but continued and made up for this by stretching out the schedule. Constellation can work, but it's neither on schedule, nor within budget.

  • would have been completed

  • @DocDonner

you obviouslyhave no clue whatsoever what you're talking about. nasa's budget varies each year, depeding on the administration's request and congress' reaction to that request.

also, constellation was way over budget and about six years behind schedule (originally it was to be operational in 2012). also, ares 1x is not ares 1, it had a dummy upper stage and a dummy srb upper segment, lol. also, the test was a partial failure, guess you missed that, lol.

  • Brief overview on how Ares I got so over budget and behind schedule:

    1. Switching to the J2X instead of the SSME, cause SSMEs are too expensive to throw away after each launch.

    2. Developing 5 segment SRBs, cause the J2X isn't as powerful as the SSME.

    3. Thrust oscillation due to the new SRB design.

    4. Installing vibration mitigation systems which meant cutting as much mass as possible from the CEV. Orion lost it's ability to land on solid ground and the crew got reduced to 4 for lunar missions.

  • Good job.

  • Don't break your arm, buddy.

  • Killing Constellation kills the U.S. manned space program. How many pioneers of the space age are now rolling over their graves?

Great video, FORIZON! Congress still holds the purse strings, so it ain't over till the fat lady sings.

Oh, and who gave me a thumbs down on this vid's first comment? Fess up!

  • man I have never seen this before, how did you come up with it? ........ Get some class, and originality moron, stop wasting peoples time

  • yet you seem to feel like you can waste everyones time posting useless comments, if you don't like it don't watch it. don't try and be an internet tough guy. I await your "original" reply.

  • one more thing... there's never enough money to advance the human race or improve the ONLY planet we have but there is always more than enough to spend on war. Imagine what we would have if the money spent on killing brown people in the desert was spent on a space program, or new energy?? we are all fools lead by bigger fools in better suits.

  • at last a comment to agree with.

  • The captions at 1:10 are censored. Hitler says "WHAT THE FUCK??? He promised."

  • this was one of the best.

not sure if it was intended but i got a certain amount of social commentary from that ending.

  • obama did exactly the right thing by cancelling constellation. the program was way over budget (several billions) and way behind schedule. there were huge problems especially with the ares I rocket development. nasa hasn't successfully designed a new launcher in more than three decades, they're incapable of doing so.

the private sector is much better at doing these things nowadays. just check out spacex, bigelow, blue origin etc. they're the future.

  • Some people seem to think this is a catastrophe and that this is the end of US manned space flight, but I'm more in line with what you're saying. It's still undecided though. If I'm not mistaken congress will have either approved or rejected this by the 24th of February so I guess we wait till then for the final nail in the coffin.

  • you must be from a state other then FL

  • @gucker07

Where are you getting your facts? Let me guess, the internet. Because if it is on the internet it must be true. NASA is a fixed funded agency. It can't get more money unless the Congress gives it to it. The way it was funding its Ares program was in a pay as it goes situation. Once shuttle ends, that money will be put to Ares. Each part of the effort occurs when NASA has the money. Not sooner, not later.

  • At first I was really downhearted by this news, it seemed Obama had pulled the plug on the dream of manned space expansion; but after checking a few cold facts I'm actually in agreement.

It's not Space exploration that's been curtailed, but the over-bloated byzantine bureaucracy that is NASA. Constellation was already over budget (over $9b), and still going no-where.

And besides, the time of single nation missions is over. The Moon should be an international enterprise.

  • yeah like the UN will do that. they're too busy trying to find their own leadership.

were one asteroid away from extinction, and who else will lead the way to expansion? China? hell we don't trust their kids toys, how can we trust them with a space station?

my kids won't be able to dream of being an astronaut. no one of the next generation will. I hope you like your kids saying they want to be a lawyer or bank executive when they grow up.

  • your kids will be able to dream of being an astronaut, just one of the 4 per year we are going to send up on russian space craft... well you could always move to russia if you want your kids to be an astronaut!

we go from 6 every few months to 4 per year progress!

  • I love the Jersey Shore, let Obama ride in a 50 year old capsule that you are molded into. I wouldn't ride in one of those if you gave me 50 mil, hey pete how's Astro

  • All of you that didn't vote for obama leave lol gorbels voted for obama

I'm sure John f kenedy is rooling in his grave

if obama cancles the program he is killing future generation and has no consideration for those lives im starting to miss the bush administration

  • We still have Jersey Shore!

    Priceless.

We have losted our space program only humor is left.

  • space travel must be privatized because we can no longer afford it.

it's either that or forget space travel all together.

obama just increased nasa's funding but he wants them to concentrate more on robotic missions and developing robotic technology while relying on private companies to build more efficient vehicles to transport us.

the constellation program was underfunded to begin with wich indicates the lack of effort being put into it to begin with.

let the wealthy corporations do it.

  • that may be but its still not right to throw all that away obama is throwing away all that work and MONEY "which he is trying to save" away

on top of that what will happen with the cancelation of the program how manny jobs will be affected how many companies will be affected how manny communities and families..no one ever thinks about the chain reaction you all just repeat what your beloved "leader" says news flash he is a liar and only says what benefits him at the moment

  • What is not being reported in the so-called mainstream media is NASA Administrator Bolden's recent trip to Israel with an USAF General and Obama insiders, we are increasing funding and pledging long-term commitments to programs that benefit Israeli owned aerospace companies WHILE KILLING CONSTELLATION AND AMERICAN JOBS

  • isnt hitler playing jeff hanley in this video

that is kind of insulting to jeff isnt it

  • ya well fuck obama

  • Constellation was a boondoggle, a huge step backwards. It never would have flown. Massive technical fail, conceived and promoted by an Administration of fools.

The only people who trumpet it's cause are those who get money from that program.

  • I'm impressed you at least know how to spell "Constellation," but it's clear you don't know much else about it. LOL!

  • or vote since obama said that he fully supported it when he ran for president. He said it was the most important thing we could do.

As for technical fail the rocket behind it launched last year perfectly so...

  • Ha Ha silly boys!

Ares I-X vehicle used in the test flight was similar in shape, weight, and size to the planned configuration of later Ares I vehicles, but had largely dissimilar internal hardware.

The four-segment solid rocket motor and aft skirt for Ares I-X was drawn directly from the Space Shuttle inventory.

The active roll control system (RoCS) for Ares I-X consisted of two modules containing engines originally used on now-decommissioned Peacekeeper missiles

  • Ares I-X used avionics hardware from the Atlas V Launch Vehicle (EELV) to control its flight.

The first stage was controlled by heritage hardware from existing Space Shuttle systems. A new electronics box, the Ascent Thrust Vector Controller, acted as a translation tool to communicate from the Atlas-based flight computer to the solid rocket boosters thrust vector control system. ATVC was the only new avionics box for the flight. All other components were existing or off-the-shelf units.

  • you just copy and pasted wikipedia. even worse it had nothing to do with what anyone was talking about. you just made yourself look like an idiot.

  • Its a bad idea to cut constellation geez its already like 10 percent paid for. wish ida voted McCain sure hes senile and kinda...violent maybe but he wouldnta killed nasa.

  • yea its like getting to your senior year of high school 3 month before graduation and deciding to drop out..

  • If Hitler ran NASA they would already have landed on Mars. Think about it, the entire space program up to and including the shuttle was based on work undertaken by Germany in the 1930's and 1940's!

  • We still have the Jersey Shore.

    CLASSIC!

  • Van Braun is rolling in his grave!!!

  • @akear

braun is about to rise from his grave and choke obama

and smack anyone who needs it

  • @monimstarfox Wow, bunch of ardent NAZI fans around this place. You guys shave your heads and replace the hair with swastikas?

Von Braun was a war criminal who should have been tried along with the rest of the killing, torturing bastards. Instead they gave him total control over our space program. Ludicrous! I guess you guys never heard of the mind control and radiation experiments performed on Americans by NAZI mind scientists?

    Project Paperclip. MK Ultra

  • @un4g1v3n1 Atleast USA beat russia in the bloody moon race. SURE he is responcible to the V1 rocket barages over britain but think of this, His weapon crimes shakes in terror over what Einstein did... You know, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were eradicated with thousands of people with them.

  • @un4g1v3n1 You should look up what a war criminal is before you throw the term around. He didn't kill or torture anybody.

  • Von Braun should have been tried, hung, and unceremonious fed to pigs...

  • @un4g1v3n1 for what. Explain yourself, because the guy didn't do anything that was a war crime. He subverted NAZI attempts to murder his workers and destroy thier work. He was critical enough of the NAZIs that they threw him in prison. Is Oppenheimer a war criminal too, or is he OK because his side won?

  • OBAMA SUCKS ASS

  • This has been linked on NASASpaceflight's forum, so true!!

  • Really? what board? Thanks for your support!

  • Unglaublich, aber Hitler hat recht! Unbelievable, but Hitler is right!

"If God wanted man to become a spacefaring species, He would have given man a moon."

    —Krafft Ehricke, former Peenemunde engineer.
