@Knight1984alice The Kerbouchard book you are looking for is the Walking Drum. In some of his writings he indicated that he planned to write a sequel, but unfortunately he never had time to finish it.
As fas as I know, Mr Lamour died before he could finish the second and third books. He did, however, have some research finished by the time of his death.
Louis L'Amour is the best author I have ever read. I am a high schooler and I have read tons of his books and never get tired of them. I wish his work was more recognized and more highly appreciated.
Thanks for posting this. Louis looked great. He was such an entertaining writer and story teller. I've read about 75 of his books and never get tired of them. It is good to see him and hear him in this video.
Thanks for unearthing this rare video. L'Amour's contribution to our culture is still underappreciated. I recently read his first novel, WESTWARD THE TIDE, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Even the Hopalong Cassidy novels he despised are well written and entertaining reads. Once again, thank you for sharing this too-brief feature story. (PS: I guess the Durango Old West town idea he discussed never came to fruition?) -- Gary P.
He was a wonderful author. I'm almost finished rereading "Haunted Mesa. It's definitely on my list of favorite books, as is "Education of a Wandering Man".
' Education of a Wandering Man ' is truely a great book...a man's love of knowledge , life's events & experiences and his journey in search of it .

Dear Knight1984alice,

I'm re-reading the Sackett's, I really like "The Walking Drum", I was in high school in North Platte, but don't remember this event.
