I love that Joe rearranges the lyrics. He does it with London calling too. That's cause he doesnt give a fuck about his songs being organized. That's what's so great about punk. There's no organization to it. It's one big pile of anger and politics and spit and you throw it in the face of anyone who gives you shit. Viva la Clash and Viva la Punk!!!
The Clash could see into the future with the things they wrote about in their lyrics that later became reality in the future in many things that have happened
Joe would not love the fucking news. These people are only in it for the free shit. They don't care about a revolution. They just want a free Samsung TV. Joe would be weeping.
@ashtweth Sorry, but I didn't understand a shit of what you *tried to say. Maybe you could train some sentence-writing techniques? Or try to read a book, please? That'll help.
Funny i was listening to this song last night before bed and then i woke up and checked the news and to my amazement london was actually a blaze. How ironic is that.
I agree with the past comments.......but maybe a new era of rock dominance beckons ?? Nobody can deny that certain forms of rock have been making a bit of a resurgence of late..... be it minor, the resurgence still exists.
It is interesting how Rock music has a "reset" button that gets pressed every 10 years or so. Whenever Rock seems to be straying too far from it's pure form, a garage group comes along and says "Wait a minute, lets get back to basics." The Clash and the Sexpistols was a revolt against 70s disco and glam-rock. Similarly the Grunge movement was a revolt against 80s pop, romantic wave and Def-Leppard polished power ballads.
There are a few (very few) good bands on the niche market today. For quite some time boardroom managed, and MTV/VH1 promoted, Rap and Hip-Hop dominate the market.
Today the music industry simply wants to sell image (rather than actual music) and lucrative merchandising, rather than invest in creative artists and take risks and long-shots. Unfortunately that "reset button" has been locked up in corporate vaults.
