The old story that Guinevere later on in her life changed her name, or perhaps her title, to Venora is an oral tradition and most likely true. Yes, she was a pictish princess and she came from the area around Meigle in Scotland. Why Venora is figured in the King Arthur Movie, although as another person, is a subtle and mysterious way to show how past, present and future really goes hand in hand. There are many of those past, present and future in the King Arthur movie, have you noticed?

Both the oral tradition and this movie supports that Guinevere and Lancelot obviously were strongly connected and certainly loved each other, in their own unique way. However, the oral tradition make it clear Lancelot was her lover whilst she was married to Arthur whereas this movie has a different ending chosing to let Lancelot die before Guinevere and Arthur got married.

Seems to me both Guinevere and Arthur chose a higher cause rather than just their own personal reasons for wanting to be together, as it was also about connecting two different cultures and thus bringing unity and peace. I have no doubt Guinevere loved both Lancelot and Arthur. How about you?

i think Lancelot and Guinevere go better together than Guinevere and Arthur. I must admit i was highly disappointed when they did not get together and sad that lancelot died

I wasn't. While I was sad that Lancelot died, I was happy that Arthur and Guinevere married. They go together. Arthur was the real hero, not Lancelot. Lancelot said himself that he would have left Guinevere in the prison to die. Arthur saved her.

you cant based the whole legend of arthur and his knights on this movie. guinevere actually falls in love with lancelot in the legend. arthur is a a real hero. he would help anyone and everyone whereas lancelot (in this film) was looking out for himself and his friends. his duty is not to anyone, but to arthur. and he never said he would leave her there to die. remember, he was disgusted by the supposed "pious" treatment in the shed as well.
