The Greatest Of All Times in Boxing is Joe Louis, The Invincible is Rocky Marciano, The Greatest Comeback in History is Foreman and Clay/Ali is The Greatest Overrated Ever, The Greatest Lie of All Times, Ali The GLOAT!
love those ladies.. i thought i was the only larry holmes fan out here..his record is impeccable compared to all others..yes he wasn`t the most exciting or destructive but top quality for 13 years.unbeaten. say no more.
For those who think ali was "the greatest of all time" need only to look at this fight! "the greatest..." is a title ali gave himself. Some "experts" regard spinks as the "worst champion of all times" but look who he beat - along with 5 others? Let's not forget the robbery decisions ali was given too. No, ali was not "the greatest". Joe Louis with a 13 year reign, and Larry Holmes - who demolished ali - with 48 straight wins were better.
@LuvThoseLadies, first of all it don't matter how many times you win the title or how long you keep it. Second, Larry Holmes didn't beat Ali, he beat the diseased, near-immobile Ali. And what do you mean 'robbed decisions", the only thing Ali was robbed of was his title, by the punk ass government. Yes Ali IS the greatest boxer of ALL time. No boxer comes up to his sucess
But ali is supposed to be "the greatest of all times". Age should not have been an excuse. Holmes destroyed him easily, and even took it easy so he wouldn't hurt him. He was given so many decisions only because he finished.Earnie Shavers, Jimmy Young, Frazier II,and Norton II are a few. Norton was known for a glass jaw,but ali couldn't knock him out. A 13 year title reign is superior to ali. Joe Louis was not only better, but more class.
frazier landed 10 punches in the second fight against ali.
while ali landed easily 300.
u should watch the jersey joe walcott vs joe louis fight, the first one, that was a clear gift decision.
and btw. i dont hate joe louis, but he was knocked down around 20 times in his career against 180lbs heavyweights, and his biggest win ( max schmelling 2 ) is nothing compared to alis wins over
@kingdarius1991 Not only are you correct, but Don King needs to be hung by his balls. He had medical reports that SHOWED Ali could and should not fight. His disease is hereditary and he began showing signs of Parkinsons back in 1975, BEFORE the Thrilla in Manila. Ali actually failed physicals, but was allowed to fight, particularly before the Evangelista fight. Trust me, I have inside information.
@goldyn12345 true but with ali foreman and the heavyweights now with the klitchko brothers marciano would have loss cause he was a small heavyweight and never fought big heavyweights even lous as great as he was was fighting mostly at 197 and marciano at 188 or 195
@LuvThoseLadies real shit man thats the same shit i say i was named after ali but i still think he was overrated i like him thoughhe was great but not the greatest and your right he gave himself that name and if he wouldn't have none would be calling him that

People forget, that Spinks didn't win the Championship in the ring. It was giving to him cause, Ken Norton didn't fight him. So when Ali got the decision against him, its more like beating a club fighter than anything else. So what if he won this fight at 37, George Foreman won it in his 40's and against a better fighter.
Mr BB your name sounds like wanna be ghetto rapper. How about you bounce on some cock. Then do some ass to mouth action you fucking retard. In my post, everything was factual. Fucking idiot! What rock did u crawl out from under? Why don't you give some serious consideration to changing your moniker. Fuck face!
Foreman is a completly different fighter then Ali. Foreman relied on power, power is the last thing to go in a fighter. All big power fighters can have a long career Ali relied on speed and that's the FIRST thing to go in a fighter. Fighters like Ali normaly can't box until their late 30's on such a level.Besides that Ali was already showing signs of braindamage here.
Umm, NO. Spinks won both the WBC and WBA titles in this fights and HE was stripped of the WBC title because he chose to fight Ali in a rematch instead of Norton. Ken Norton is the one who didn't win the title in the ring, he was just awarded it because he beat Jimmy Yound in a WBC title eliminator. You are very wrong sir.
george foremans record is alot better then ali's alot better + he dit it in the 70 and the 90 by then ali was already schaking in his weelschair while foreman was knocking out people again
Actually, Ali could have been 61-0. His first loss with Frazier, he took the fight too soon after over a 3 year layoff. He probably would have won against Norton the first time if his jaw hadn't been broken early. He gave away too many rounds(he could have won) against Spinks with the rope-a-dope and inactivity. Against Holmes and Berbick, he was sick(early Parkinson's), off two years, and far past his prime. He definetely shouldn't have fought(and loss), at least, those last two fights.
@mbhotie715 Please don't say Parkinson's. It's an insult to all the people who actually have the disease. Ali has Parkinson's Syndrome, i.e. punch-drunk. Thsoe who have the disease have no choice, those who have the syndrome are almost exclusively fighters, and they certainly did.
Thirty freaking years ago. I watched this on TV for free. Back then everything was simpler and more confused. When the rematch came in September, Ali looked like he really had done the 100,000 sit ups he claimed to have, he was for maybe the last time magnificent. Spinks, and his baby brother Michael are an interesting footnote in boxing history. Ali may really have been the greatest.
Where were you sitting for Spinks-Ali 2 ? I saw it on TV, followed it closely. On the cover of TIME Ali was as fit and pretty as he could be at age 36.
it makes me angry that some people in here r posting only the victories of muhammad ali and not the losses. this man was not a legend only because he was a magnificent boxer but also he had the heart of a warrior. But men don't live forever.
I still pelieve that tyson cannot be defeated. Not at his best anyway.
You Fuckin Foooooooooooooooooool, Muhammad Ali had 71 fights and 6 loses every one knows that. u fucking son of a bitch can 37 or somthing like that knockout u shitty bastered. that didnt happen in the history of boxing u cow. there is some video of muhammad's loses u piece of shitt just search u dirty idiot.
sorry not 71 fights...Muhammad ali had 61 fights, 56 wins, 37 knock outs and only 5 loses.u fucking ignorant only 5 loses out of 56. his wins are over 90% u CUNT. What Muhammad Ali did in the history of Boxing, didnt happen so far and is not gonna happen again. he is the Greatest of all time. know that now u fucking CUNT. U might be a fucking racist.
hmmm. little do you know about boxing then. A prime Ali dances circles around Tyson until here gets frustrated and resorts to one punch at a time, or he bites Ali's face off...
