You have to take into account that spiders use resources when they make their egg sacks, and also when they make venom. She may have been too tired to bite, she have feared that if she bit me I would have flung her off which may have hurt her. I may just be lucky. I've been bitten by a wolf spider before though, itchy like a mosquito.

I'm fifteen and I've recently made a switch in my life from a trouble maker to a peace maker. I caught a spider and my mother insists I keep it. I want to keep it, but I don't think it's right to keep it caged up like this..what should I do with it?

I imagine it's because she already used all of the resources she had for the eggs and the sac, so if she didn't have to, she would save the little venom she has just to save energy. I bet she was exhausted.
I say it depends. I haven't been bitten by a tarantula, and I don't plan to let myself be bitten by one, XD but I would imagine its easier to see their bite marks than with a small guy like this. I've been bitten by a wolf spider and a jumping spider. The inflamed skin makes it hard to tell. I can't remember ( it was a while ago) but it looked like a mosquito bite, just a big irritated area that itched. I'm sure if I tried, I might actually be able to see, but I can't say. They do have fangs.
It's a spider that we have up here in the North that has a bite similar to a Brown Recluse. That picture of the guy's detereorating thumb was supposedly a recluse bite, be it a really bad one. Bites like those are rare, since spiders don't want to waste the venom they've put so much effort and resources into making, but even then you still wouldn't want to be bit by a dangerous spider like that. Also, I just don't like how Hobo spiders look, they're ugly.
I actually could've been wrong, it may have been a european house spider, which aren't dangerous. The difference between the two is that the european house spider has stripes on its legs, but the Hobo spider doesn't. Buuut, I was in too much of a "oh shit" mood to look closely enough. I'd rather be safe than sorry. XD I know that's mean, buuuut yeah, I bet a bunch of people would agree.
Hobo spiders are dangerous, but they all look alike, so, go ahead and kill them all, even if it really isn't a hobo spider. It's better to be safe than sorry. XD How's that?

Just the tiny ones? I know some people who don't mind tarantulas but passionately hate smaller spiders. It makes sense in a way, but I still think that's weird. XD

Actually, I was afraid of that, not so much of being bitten, but just by pissing her off. XD But... it was either that or run her down with the weedwhacker. XD
I imagine it's because she already used all of the resources she had for the eggs and the sac, so if she didn't have to, she would save the little venom she has just to save energy. I bet she was exhausted.

I say it depends. I haven't been bitten by a tarantula, and I don't plan to let myself be bitten by one, XD but I would imagine its easier to see their bite marks than with a small guy like this. I've been bitten by a wolf spider and a jumping spider. The inflamed skin makes it hard to tell. I can't remember ( it was a while ago) but it looked like a mosquito bite, just a big irritated area that itched. I'm sure if I tried, I might actually be able to see, but I can't say. They do have fangs.

It's a spider that we have up here in the North that has a bite similar to a Brown Recluse. That picture of the guy's detereorating thumb was supposedly a recluse bite, be it a really bad one. Bites like those are rare, since spiders don't want to waste the venom they've put so much effort and resources into making, but even then you still wouldn't want to be bit by a dangerous spider like that. Also, I just don't like how Hobo spiders look, they're ugly.

I actually could've been wrong, it may have been a european house spider, which aren't dangerous. The difference between the two is that the european house spider has stripes on its legs, but the Hobo spider doesn't. Buuut, I was in too much of a "oh shit" mood to look closely enough. I'd rather be safe than sorry. XD I know that's mean, buuuut yeah, I bet a bunch of people would agree.

If it's in my house and I don't recognize it, I try to get it outside without touching it, or, if I can't I kill it. I know not to risk it, but I know which ones keep me safer from disease vectoring insects.
