  • I wish Dweezil would invite Mike Keneally to Zappa plays Zappa

  • Being a huge fan of his work, my girlfriend at the time produced the VIDEO as a gift for my birthday. Amazed from beginning to end but the black page #2 was done so well that I thanked that girl hard that night. Hmmm might give her a call. Music & Zappa r the best x

  • zappas universe was one of the first musicvid´s i have ever seen and it is just awesome

  • Very cool version!

  • Who else than Dweezil to bring this beautiful Zappa composition (Chunga's Revenge) ????? Only Frank could play it with more finesse.......but this too is AWESOME!!!!!!

Yes people there is still good music out there, you just have to look for it.....or buy everything from ZAPPA!

  • my favorite dweezle piece was the gumby song

  • Definitely my favorite version of Dweezil doing this

  • eddi was one of his musical teachers !!

  • wow dweezil really was a van halen fan

  • does this go by a different name it's not on the cd

  • This track is Chunga's Revenge..

  • This song is on the Frank Zappa album Trance/Fusion, which was a collection of a bunch of cool Frank solos. On this track (chungas revenge) on that album Dweezil actually plays live with Frank. Check it out.

  • Excellent guitar work Dweezil...and good vid Harry

  • Great playing and tone from Mr. Dweezil!

  • chip off the old block! what a block to be chipped off of...

  • Zappa was a genius and his compositions were extremely innovative but I hate that concert because of all the artificial 1980's digital and transistor sounds and the over inflated Satriani style solos filled with fake harmonics that are played by Steve Vai and Dweezil, which betray Zappa's authentic sound...

  • dude that's not steve vai playing.

  • I had the enormous pleasure of seeing Zappa live 7 times during his career, first time in 1968 at the Palace Theatre Manchester just after the release of 'Freakout' and the last time after 'Sheik Yer Bouti' was released, saw him and his band in Paris, while on a business trip, Couldn't believe my luck!! RIP Frank

  • Wow, not many people were fans for that long, or managed to like that huge range of music and live through it enough to type! Lucky is right and good for ya!

    rk

  • YEAH! lucky bastard

    ;)

  • Dweezil playin' Music man EVH with a d tuner noice playin' and the axe aint too bad either. faved!

  • AG: In 1991, you were listed as a 'Guest Artist' in the program for the 'Zappa's Universe' concerts in New York - what happened?

WC: Oh, a problem with transport. It was so unorganized. I would've liked to - I was gonna play Crew Slut or five-five-FIVE.

  • Warren Cuccurullo!

  • post the whole video show!! please !!!!!

  • I just cannot understand why there is only three comments on such a beautiful tribute to a boys love for his dying iconic father. Loved it!~!!!

  • i went to the manchester gig with my bro on his birthday, fantastic night out, we loved it nd had an experience

  • I heard theres a version of Chungas Revenge on Trance Fusion!! ....Is this true anyone?

  • Great stuff. I had a chance to see this band in Manchester last year, but didn't go: now I wish I had. Thanks for posting.

  • This is not the Zappa plays Zappa band. This was filmed back in '93 as a tribute to Frank Zappa. It is called Zappa's Universe. He was too ill to attend at the time. I do highly recommend seeing Zappa Plays Zappa as they are touring again this summer.

  • Thanks for the info. I bought the Zappa's Universe CD back in '93; I've haven't listened to it for years. I'll have to go and drag it out.
