First of all "traditional culture" is a relative term. The problem is that your view of what is "traditional culture" is very narrow. We are not going to have 500 year old songs because we are not 500 years old. The music and dance you see in the video is a product of people that came together in Norway, the people that conquered Norway, and the people that Norway conquered.

In the same way, we have music that was brought to America by the people who ended up here one way or another that changed to become blues and bluegrass. It is all relative, and you are going to find what you are looking for. You aren't looking for American culture, you are looking for something similar to the video. As for "pop" culture, that is another relative term that I will not bother to going into unless you really want to argue the point. Ha det bra.
