That system, more than even Electoral College, INSULATES the elections from the "stupidity" (i.e. will) of the citizens.

The superdelegate system is terrible. It's ironic that the superdelegates are unique to the "Democratic" party. I've made a pledge that says when the Democratic convention comes around if the superdelegates nominate a candidate that goes against how the people voted... I will leave the democratic party.
