  • Comment removed

  • @vamphuntress15 No, Little Anthony did it first but that is a reissued remake by Anthony Gourdine and group. I'm 61 years old, I was THERE, man! I used to sing on the corner. I know who sha na na is and I also know what the original TOMP sounds like.

  • Remake

  • Remake

  • Everyone run and hide.

The grammar police are out in full force.

  • this takes me back

  • Most people leave respectful comments on these old songs like they don't make music like this anymore, this one got all jacked up

  • wow ppl are really arguing about a damn apostrophe.

  • who remembers kylie minogue´s version back then before she became queen of dance?

  • love it!!! <333

  • great song great times

  • Music reflect the time's we are in and we re in dangerious time now..

  • When I said Black people is going to sing their way back into slavery. Look at the Music industry today , look at where its coming from. The beauty to EL, the slave masters have their plot, and the poeople think they have change no they have not. Beauty and the beast is a children story, and the music we have today is Beauty & the beast.

  • @maria610421 What is wrong with you?

  • I agree wcraig2010

  • Yeah I notice some ignorant comments on here! Not enough enjoyment of this music.

  • brilliant music.

  • LIKE IF CRYBABY WALKER BROUGHT U HERE LOL

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOMG my papa is sutch a big fan

  • Love, love, love this!! It brought back lots of

    good memories.

  • I had no idea I'd opened such a can of worms about the otiose apostrophe pedants! Suggested reading about English punctuation is the defrinitive (and highly amusing book) EATS SHOOTS AND LEAVES (aka, EATS, SHOOTS AND LEAVES) by Lynn Truss is a MUST!

  • @hotfish2009 I could only find "Eat shit and die" is that a sequel?

  • read the book eats shoots and leaves. Wish more people would

  • Also, Eats shoots, and leaves. or, Eats, shoots, and leaves. Either way, funny.

  • just a warm happy feeling

  • this song is cool

  • This song shows what we are missing these days..feelings, genuine feelings.

  • @ElsieSwanson ur talking about mainstream underground and actually independant to recording companies have really emotional music and well written music and meaning ful

  • we need this music again clean music

  • Es ist gerecht, „heftig zerreißt auf mein Kissen“

  • todays artist need to start making music like this again.

  • @joeb1963 true that

  • Er, Tears is a plural, not a possessive! So why the apostrophe?

  • @hotfish2009 excuse (i'm just a stupid german) - your comment keeps me thinking and guessing. Could it be, the title has to be read " tear is on my pillow" ? Someone around to help me ?

  • @nalvojo I think that it would still be grammatically incorrect, it would be street talk, unless tear is a person. It'd be right, but in the song I'm pretty sure they mean tears as in water falling out of my eyes, so no I don't think it can be read like that for this song specifically, but in another situation maybe.

  • @GenieDx

    Thanks much !

Think, your kind of humour is very special - i like it. How about ' tar ' on my

pillow ? (< complaint of an streetasphaltworker).

  • @nalvojo No Problem, Haha Thanks! hahaha That one was a good one ^O^.

  • @hotfish2009

I thought the exact same thing on seeing the title of this video.

    Tear's on my grammar book.

  • @ocleirigh86 Wish I could hit the uploader with a grammar book.

  • @ocleirigh86 wow very smart

  • @hotfish2009 It's called philosophy boy hahaha

  • @hotfish2009 Yes. I came to this page just to say the same thing. KnightInWhite, PLEASE take out the apostrophe! "Tears On My Pillow"

  • @hotfish2009 The tears belong to the cryer...

  • @hotfish2009 because someone couldn't write correctly, I guess.

  • @hotfish2009 get a life f@@k off..enjoy the song..christ!..you at school?..40 people clicked thumbs up obviously are!

  • @deltronia I agree with you a thousand percent!! By the way, capital C in Christ.

  • @hotfish2009 I think he just wanted to cover all base's LOL just in case.

  • @hotfish2009 whoa who called the spelling police !!

  • @hotfish2009 Show less The music is the issue;; not what was learned in school , or what may be a typographical error. How small and critical can you be.. e ((E) njoy the music, or don't listen to it. Great song, beautiful music and artist.Edit | Remove

  • my ears think there in heaven!

  • 19 people must be deaf

  • botão de amor por músicas como essa ♥♥

  • im only 14 n i lik dis oldie it's 1 of the best

  • best song ever period

  • Such great music, just makes you feel really good. Search for these guys on youtube and listen to them today. Little Anthony and the Imperials sound almost no different today, than they did over, what, 50+ years ago. They still have "it". That, to me, is defining. Do you think Bieber will still have it 50-60 years from now? Obviously, we know the answer to that. Back then it was about the music...

  • 18 people don't know great music.

  • Tears on My Pillow

Save the Last Dance for me

Will You Still Love me Tomorrow?

    Sherry

    Big Girls Don't Cry

those are my favorite oldies <33

  • @EscapingMortality Great music taste! But i could never narrow mine down to this many, the list is endless! xoxo

  • @boo4bettz4eva I'm so happy people are not forgetting these, I'm15, and I started these when I was 5, couldn't stop since! :D

  • @boo4bettz4eva well glad 2 hear it! im 22 now n havent listened to anything in the charts for years! The old stuff definatley is the best! I used to hear it all the time when i was younger as my mum played 70s n 80s all the time xoxo

  • One of my very first "45" purchases! Still as platinum as it was that first listen! Now, that's excellence!

  • this is not the original

  • the FUCk hahah eggshells and meat dresses

  • Great Muzic..thanks for sharing Steve

  • i love oldies

  • What an unforgettable voice Little Anthony had.

  • YOU keep tempting the hand of FATE but FATE put it all in your hand now

  • " You don't remember me, but I remember you, it was not so long ago you broke my heart in two " My part..

  • I sing this with my grandpa all the time, (:

  • Wonderful song!

  • I LOVE how this song popped up before "tears on my quitar" by taylor swift, Yay Go Oldies!

  • The main person singing is a girl, right?

  • @RiotMoshPit No, it was Little Anthony.

  • @RiotMoshPit No sweetie...It's Little Anthony himself

  • A chill just ran through my body at 0:21. Think my mom and dad heard this song. Memorable post. There goes that chill again at 1:35.

  • This is good music!!!!!!

  • real music:)))) <3!

  • I'm sorry to all the guys I broke their heart. I didn't know what I was doing, being young has its disadvantages too. We live and learn. Well some of us do.

  • Your right and the generals song "Pants on the ground" sums up what you see walking the streets. It was a lovely era with really lovely music, "American graffiti" CD is brilliant. me in Cape Town South Africa sat in office just listening and dreaming, go home in 30 mins.

  • what happened to society today??back then had groups that could sing, dress nice n have neatly comb hair,,,now u have groups that that cant sing s**t n dress bad,,,,,

  • @smeagel07 I love this song, but there again I am old hehehehe. It was a great time and stunning music to enjoy, love, sun and music.

  • @korky5214 this is a great song,,,songs like this will last forever,,,they dont make music like this anymore,,,i love the golden oldies,,,;)

  • @smeagel07 I know what you mean, I am so sick of the sagging pants and boobs popping out everywhere it is disgusting! I'm an 80's baby but my parents grew up during that time period and as far as music is concerned they had it good. I remember when people actually showed up to events wearing cloths, now a days they show up in meat dresses and in egg shells, with different colored wigs on SMH.

  • Yes, I am listening to this in 2011

No, I am not going to press any number on my keyboard

No, I am not going to thumbs up your comment

No, I do not care what is wrong with 18 people

No, I do not care about you "raping" a button

No, I was not sent here by someone else

Music is there to be listened and appreciated, unfortunately there are people out there who just do not see that. The music industry is becoming more about marketing and less about musical quality.

  • @Cance251 you make a great point...

  • @Cance251 - I have felt that way for years. I work in the music industry in Austin. I see it 1st hand. Nowadays you can wear a dress made of meat or put on a monster suit and sell music.

  • @Cance251 Makes it harder to cut through the BS with so many stupid comments ^_^

  • @Cance251 You need therapy!

  • @cooolairrr

haha you're probably one of those cliché commenters

  • @Cance251

    thank you

  • Lol I rmb this from grease XD

  • he name Doo-wop is given to a style of vocal-based rhythm and blues music that developed in African American communities in the 1940s and achieved mainstream popularity in the 1950s and early 1960s.[1] It emerged from New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Baltimore, Newark, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and areas of greater Los Angeles including El Monte and Compton. Built upon vocal harmony, doo-wop was one of the most mainstream, pop-oriented R&B styles of the 1950s and 1960s.

  • is this steve earkel singing???

  • i love this genre of music but idk what its called anyonne?? im a young person who is facinated with olden music

  • @niciford92

This is Doo-Wop. There were two basic kinds of genres popular in the late 1950s and early 1960s: Rockabilly and Doo-Wop. Rockabilly was the type of music that was played by Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley. Doo-Wop was mostly sung by Black artists and did not have a large public following until Berry Gordy started Motown Records.

  • @LKKruse oooh ok thank you so much now i have more knowledge

  • I am tired of reading about how old people are, just thumb it up and move along , you are far too young for older folk to take seriously , so get out there and live a full life. Appreciation is one thing , but I don't want to read about your 14 yr old bull shit.

  • love young people who dig this! i'm 40 an it's way before my time too, but if u recogize quality ur way ahead o the game! cheers an thanks fer postin! x

  • (@SuperAlanna11)

I can't believe that eleven year olds in our generation have this kind of mouth...

Why can't I just live in the generation of doo-wop?

  • im 11 and i love oldies but goodies i dont give a shit what they think

  • dsfh usadg fbask n;kfdg

  • love this song...

    hhmmm...

  • @jsand93 Now they are loved in the worng way. I mean the ghetto way and the political correct way that is destroying western civilization. Shame that blacks have destroyed themselves and have not proved to be great like they claim to be, but world class whinners.

  • @calihartley2010 Why are you even on this video?

Look at your channel , it looks like you are the one whining

another white man angry because his race is on the verge of extinction :)

  • @BlacknesUnforgivable No I am not an angry white man. I am just stating facts. So a uneducated Ghetto person like you must be careful and have some common sense about the point I am trying to make here.

  • Where's the 'love' button for this song?????

  • @TJCATLOVER We should write Youtube and tell them there needs to be a love button for songs like this ♥♥

  • Listening to all these old songs reminds me of a time long since past: where beating our high school rival (RV) in football and taking the prettiest girl to the prom was all that mattered. Ah teenage angst, what would we do with out it! I married the girl, by the way.

  • This song was playing the first day I got lucky, and at the end there was much more then just tears on my pillow :O Simply BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • Dislike, because it is not the original version.

  • awsome! love it!!! in those days 1 take was what it took!

  • Jesus is nothing but a sweat rag to Little Richard and Michael Jackson....BTW, Anthony's hot AND can sing

  • Oh yeah, tears on my pillow ... so many times ! Beautiful Oldie ! ********++

  • Pas mal comme version

  • doo wop is good. i like very much doo wop. it nice

  • Totally awesome song!!!!!! One of my favorite oldies!!!!!!

  • summer, 1960, The Store at Grayton Beach, Florida. Oh, what a summer and oh what fabulous tunes on that old juke box. What a dance floor. The Store is gone, the beach is there but filled with millionaires. What a disappointment.

  • "tears" not "tear's". thanks!

  • this is a fake nu , remix not real n not the orig hit ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • Guess the teens from today have found these Golden Oldies ... enjoy !!

  • That damn ex of mine....

  • hes cute

  • awesome

  • classic

  • Not even lil' wayne could re-mix this... This is just OG

  • Absolutely the Best !!!

Makes me sad for the kids today : /

  • @sunshinehi i'm one of the kids from today! :) Don't be disappointed.

  • Connery 345

You like this great style of Rock and Roll ... find a retro station then and Enjoy !!

Rock around the clock with Bill Haley and the Comets and spend a little time on Blueberry Hill.

  • @sunshinehi I'm 18, and I've been listening to Little Anthony since before I could talk. Forget what's produced today, music will never have more soul than this.

  • Comment removed

  • tears on my pillow..pain in my heart..caused by you...

  • aye yep xoxo

  • I true classic, Little Anthony and the Imperials, classic in every way!

  • I remember when my sister sang this song for my cousin's wedding all the way back in June 1959. Can't believe it's been over 50 yrs. ago! Still a wonderful song, but I think Pattie Page was the artist (not 100% sure of this though). Who was the original singer of this song? Does anyone know!

  • yes i love this song!!!

  • Tears, not tear's, Imperials, not Imperial's. The band name must have been hard to spell wrong, it's on the cover which is the only image in the video rofl

  • I hate it when both top comments are retarded.

  • @BlackoutArchive worst when the 3rd comment it even more.. retarded

  • @BlackoutArchive hell yeah!

  • remember this well. don't hear much like this music nowadays, thanks for taking me back in time

  • I'm 51 years old, and this music is before my time, even for me. When I was a teenager, 50's and early 60's music came back into style with the T.V. show, "Happy Day's", and, I always hated this show because it did not feature my generation's music which was the 70's. Now, listening to Little Anthony, I think I must have been crazy.

  • This Reminds Me of My Childhood.

  • This gorgeous song came out way before my time (even though I'm now getting up there- ha ha) but I've always loved it. It seems to come from a dream, created from the notion of loving a girl from afar; something I'm sure many of us guys out there can relate to. The voices are perfec, the mood sublime. Thanks for posting, I needed to hear something like this right now. Cheeres to everyone.

  • i didnt grow up with this kind of music ,but im sure glad i found it ,my ipod is full of all these type of oldies <3

  • grease :)
