  • Dominique and Valerie ? . Both look Chinese to me. Why are they wearing prom dress ?

  • May I know how old are the sisters now?

  • @MrEriesal I think Dominique is 16 while Valerie is 12.

  • Yeah i agree better with orchestra.

But i still like the song no matter where and who is playing!

    :D

  • Very nice! But is sound better with an orchestra!

  • I balled. Beautiful

  • The ''false'' ending always catches the audience...hahah. This was really well done. I think it always sounds better with just violin and piano rather then orchestra.

  • Although she has problems controlling the G string, she has a lot of talent in putting her heart into the music.

  • @SuperYameng she still has a lot of time to improve, like her emotions in music, can be gained when she gets maturer. dang i'm so jealous of her!

  • @asdfasdf17080 Oh, seems like someone's jealous.

  • 50 jealous yanky Mcdonald KFC eating fat dirty cunts...

  • so much like a little angel especially when closing her eyes: )

  • bien de bien, saludos.

  • I am doubly embarrased at my feeble attempts in music after seeing this. Bravo! The world is both of yours for the playing!

  • Wow! So good and at such a young age. Really happy for the gals cause they really seems to enjoy playing too :-)

  • What incredible talent for one so young! A virtuoso in the making. Such wondrous music played with so with much sensitivity!

    Harry E W Smith, E.D., A.D.M.

  • These girls are AMAZING. To be so good at not just one instrument, but two at that young of an age is incredible. Bravo for sure!

  • fantastic!

  • My mom used to play this piece, the most played one, very beautiful violin piece, I like it very much too, it is pity that her violin has broken at its petal and wood. You played with all feeling and so lovely, Valerie !

  • Cuanto talento, no me puedo imaginar dentro de unos cuantos años.. Impresionante

  • la musique des anges par deux anges.

  • Wow. One of my favourite pieces of music of all time. And played divinely. This video brought tears to my eyes. So moving. So talented. I am in awe.

  • so good.

  • I Don't know if she knew that back then, but you can make that last note with the 3rd finger harmonic on the a string.

  • @drwhocrazed sounds better if you play it on the e strin with vibrato in my opinion

  • (l)(L)(l) I love this piece just go on like this way, it's is so beautifal!

  • muito bom ! :)

  • que belleza,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,estoy extaciado

  • Beautiful.

  • well that must have been an embarrassing moment for the people who applauded in the middle.

  • @skunktheshrink - Yeah. That was bad. They need an applause sign or something for the ones that aren't familiar with the music. Reminds me of JFK's secretary. She said she would stand where he could see her during recitals at the White House. She would give me hand signals when it was type to applaud..

  • marvelous :'D

  • O really this is A-W-E-S-O-M-E . ZoeZool has right, they can feel the music. ♥

  • These girls can feel the music.

  • @ZoeZooI and they look really pretty in their dresses

  • fantastic music

  • Bravo ... very well done ... bravo

  • I'm playing this for my audition. :O She plays it wonderfully with lots of expression!

  • wow the prematured applause didn't spoilt the mood. a bit short @4:20 or otherwise a perfect rendition. Well played!

  • i'm going to play this piece- this will be a good example :)

  • almost brought a tear to my eye. Wonderfully executed young ladies.

  • Oh my- spectacular!

  • What I love about these two girls is how much emotion that they pour into their music. You can force a child to play but you cannot force them to play with emotion. God bless you both.

  • WOW.

  • Omg thats awsome.

  • something funny about it is that the audience claps before the piece ended =D LOL

  • superb!

  • No offense, but she plays a false note at the beginning (0.24). Later when she is warmed up, it is better.

  • This is the first video I saw of Valerie and Dominque. It is still amazing.

  • Super felicitaciones a la sensibilidad y hermosa interpretación

    José

  • @hamiltonrrw well he & i said that because it is true that as a musician we tend to notice errors, especially a person like me who has perfect pitch. i was simply saying they are talented but made errors cuz they did make them. i did not say there is anything wrong with it in that young age, since they are still learning & becoming better every time they prcatice. we are all humans. we make errors. nothing wrong with that except the fact that it is noticed to professional ears.

  • holy crap people, stop trying to prove points between each other and apppreciate the girls talent.

  • @hamiltonrrw because they are not professionals, they are just more talanted & advanced for their age. i am a professional musician and i completely agree with what barrister commented. they are still blossoming kids. of course they have a lot to improve on although they are extremely talented with great potential without a doubt.

  • Great talent ...

  • Bravo!

  • beutiful

  • This is absolutely beautiful! Wonderful job, girls! Very well played! :)

  • Very talented and well played. I can tell you both enjoyed playing this. It sounds beautiful! You two will easily become professionals if you desire.

  • amazing

  • i can meditate with this version, except the applause.

  • Omg this girl is INCREDIBLE. So much talent for such a young age! I pay the violin, but I don't think I could ever pay this piece so beautifully!

  • Avec quel violon joue-elle? C'est très bien interprété. Bravo.

  • applause interrupted :) haha but brilliante song

  • is it just me or does this sound slightly like adoration...

  • @OhMyGhoshProductions I think it does just a bit during the theme. (just a bit).

  • well done hunni you played this beautifuly

  • well done!

but a bit too fast I think :)...

  • muy hermoso !!!! :)

  • :-D ^^

  • Lol at the early applause~ Beautifully played though ^^

  • Superbe expression de Valérie avec son violon !!! grande beauté et de maturité !

    Dominique accompagne de façon excellente

Un duo très beau : Mr Massenet est heureux :) et moi aussi

  • hahaha, the clapping at 4:22 or so....

  • wow!!

    When I heard it

I feel temporary contentment and satisfaction

  • she's 10?!

    damn.

  • @Violinfanatic is completely right. But sometimes I can't help but feel irritated my parents didn't give me the opportunity till I was in 4th grade. That's why I plan on entering my child when he/she is very young. So he too can have the chance to be this amazing.

  • !!!vaya!!!!si que le pone sentimiento y conque gran seguridad da las notas y el vibrato si que merece un aplauso

  • this little girl is freaking 10 years old, and plays like its nothing compared to her skill, while i bent over backwords for three months perfecting this one piece. blarh.

  • Couple talent girls can do special things like this, this is so sweet and lovely musical duo band. I love them.

  • beautiful.

  • PROTIP: Don't applaud until the violinists brings the violin down.

  • @kurona there are pieces made especially to trick the audience at certain parts, to seem like its ending but really not. to be playing a solo such as this and have that kind of thing happen really gives the soloist a surge of just... overwhelming joy, and self confidence. its a really amazing feeling.

  • Omfg.. I got goseebumbs because of this it's amazing !! I just had a little twink of a tear in my eye it so beautiful T_T

  • That was great. I do not know what to say, but simply beautiful....:)

  • Wow!! :D For a little girl, she plays with such passion. ^_^ I love this. <3 Both the piano and violin were beautiful. :)

  • haha, they thought at 4:28 the girl are done playing the violin & piano lol:0 even me was tricked by those two>.<

  • this is my favorite vídeo of youtube

  • silly audience ^

  • OH! Tricked the audiences at 4:20

  • i love it.

  • went a little flat on the very last note...but great performance for your age....bravo....bravo....!!!...I've also viewed you playing piano and you are a very talented little girl...keep it up...!!!!

  • This reminds me of the karate kid....don ask why go watch the movie...

  • @jeetdg2012 except that girl didnt actually play the violin. or she at least didnt play the piece

  • @xDavidTChang lolzz

  • Are these two girls sisters? If so, they do a great job!! :D

  • Gotta love the Asians.

  • Wow. Just amazing. Their parents should be proud.

  • Excellent job, very nicely played. It's not easy to perform in front of a live audience (especially when they applause early lol). You girls obviously have some talent, keep up the good work!

  • Damn.......these little girls are really talented *___*

  • perfect flow. absolutly beautiful

  • @overtherainbowieskie Fyi this person's intent is good. He means just the opposite, just a westernized way of expressing things. Like, 'That was bad man!meaning just the opposite. His expression followed by the : P is a clue. The Korean little girls are very good btw.

  • totally breath-taking!

  • ah i have to play this for solo and ensemble and i can only get the first page so far!!

  • Wow! This is amazing for such young people. I like comparing this with the video of Anne Sophie Mutter and Lambert Orkis (which is just unbelievable). Very nice piece, and these girls performed it beautifully.

  • lol at 4:20

at 4:53 the audience paused this time.

Imagine if they kept on going , that would have made me laugh.

Good performance overall. They'll get better.

  • think i heard this from anime (la corda d'oro)..by the way love it!!=D

  • @04katrinaalyssa Ha a fellow anime and music lover xp Hi there! I love that anime!

  • Asian children are very talented!

  • @sabishii11 Let's not bring race into it. Children, period, have the potential to be really good if their parents, educational system and environment allow for good development. Unfortunately, not all children are born into an ideal situation. So, that said, I will say that the Asian educational system (although extremely rigorous and competitive) allows for children to have academic and musical opportunities that kids in other countries are not always exposed to.

  • @Violinfanatic I agree! Children have the potential to be really good if the situation is ideal! When I was young, I wanted to know things, but my parents would just not tell me, saying that I won't understand >.<

Anyway, this performance is amazing. These two girls are so lovely!

  • @Violinfanatic Personally I think a bit of both is best

  • @Violinfanatic Nie rozumiemy Konfucjańskiego porzadku Świata i to jest odpowiedż na Twoje spostrzeżenie

  • @Violinfanatic at the same time though, why aren't kids just left to be kids anymore though?

  • @Violinfanatic It's the Asian culture that allows for their skills to grow a great deal and in a sense that is a racial thing, even if it can be used by non Asians as well. But they developed it and use it more than none Asians. I would say it's both a race thing as well as it isn't.

  • @FlashySenap No, it's not racial. It's about method, time and technique. Their education system has developed a method which allows for musical and academic success: planning, curriculum, process. If Europeans enacted the same, it may or may not succeed due to financial and other factors, not racial factors. This would be a race thing if Asians somehow had a genetic superiority for music, which is not true. All human cultures possess the ability to create beautiful music.

  • @Violinfanatic All "races" possess the ability to create great beauty, no one or nothing will or can tell different, But some are more efficient than others due to their culture heritage and Asians are one part of the human race that possess the more efficient developed method to refine skills and abilities better. Their culture is a part of their "race" and therefor I would claim it to be a racial thing in a sense.

  • @FlashySenap Culture=methods and ways of living established by a group of people (not a race of people) over time. I could be black and raised in an Asian household, learning Asian culture. I would be more likely to play a classical musical instrument. That does not make me Asian. So, culture is not exclusive. Culture can be passed on to other races. Therefore, I still say culture is not a race thing. And musical ability as well as academic ability is not a race thing but rather a method.

  • @Violinfanatic Actually, you could be considered Asian if you grew up within an Asian culture, but I doubt it because many cultures *are* exclusive and tend not to accept outsiders trying to join or people of other races being raised there.

(BTW, "Asian" is a western term that many "Asians" may not even use, and could refer to any group of people or culture within the continent of Asia: India, Russia, Kazakhstan, etc. "Asian" does not just refer to Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc.)

  • @noodlenate It's that exclusivity and feeling of separation that leads to a lot of problems and misunderstandings. We all need to come together.

BTW, I have several Japanese, Korean, and Chinese friends who tell me they hate being referred to as "oriental." They prefer Asian because that is the continent (Asia) they are apart of... I guess, it's a matter of personal preference. I.e, I am black. I prefer "black." But many in my race prefer to be called African-American. Preference...

  • @Violinfanatic I think they hate being referred to as "oriental" because that term is used to refer to objects, not people.

And I don't know if it would be a good idea to "all come together." It may be seen as "bad" to be exclusive, and there may be some things that don't work very well and/or are stupid about exclusivity, but i think there are reasons for it existing and we can see them if we study history.

  • @noodlenate

Of course, it would be prudent to pay attention to the differences between simple caution (withholding acceptance of people into one's culture who you have a good reason to believe are going to have a negative influence) and racism and irrational intolerance (though usually most intolerance is based in a reasonable fear, if they are ultimately taken to an extreme through fear and ignorance.).

  • @noodlenate And besides, i think it's a good thing to have varied cultures on earth, with different beliefs and ways of doing things. Variety is healthy!

If by: "we all need to come together"

you mean: "we should all learn more about foreign cultures and relate to the similarities between them and us while respecting the differences that makes each interesting" then I agree with you.

  • The sound is awesome!! It's very clear!

  • ....idk how to play either thing......life sux...thts wut i want for christmas violin lessons and no one will give them to me.........not tht im a snotty lil brat who gets everything she wants...serioulsy im not! i just wanna learn how to play an instrument!!! not tht i kno how to read musik either....oh well...good job gurls
