Hey Cali Lewis. I love your show I watched every show.. I feel this phone needs a new reviews and few thing you mention is incorrect. Some are Multitouch is enable now. One mistake you made on this review is phone only runs 6 application as multi tasking which is not true. Android runs as many application the system memory can handel. You can run 20 app ore more if you like at no problem the OS automatically shuts the apps down to release memory for more current and up front apps running.

hey you are right but i am not a big fan of the. apple phone so i just wanted a phone that i can do everything. the reason i am not becuase the apple. phone speaker is very low a lot of time you can t. hear nothing

Great straight to the point review. I like your view on the "iPhone killer" I agree. Apple iPhone is great and I want it to succeed and its great that Motorola/Android are coming out with better products such as the Droid to make apple keep changing, same for Droid.

the reason why adroid dosent have multi-touch is apple. apple has put out that no other phone but their own by law should have multi-touch since they were the first ones to make a patien on it.

andoird is trying to fight this and i hope android and palm wins so all phones can have multi-touch

there is a way to get around this tho, just mod the phone. this void everything but there is away to mod ur phone where you can do somthing to unmod it if u make it into a brick or have to take it back

There are at least 3 other phones with multi-touch besides the iphone. The HTC Droid Eris has it.

Verizon to Launch a MiFi-Capable Android Phone

Wireless carrier Verizon is already known to plan on launching a series of mobile phones based on Google's Android operating system, and a new rumor regarding one of these devices has recently emerged into the wild. According to it, the mobile phone operator will launch one Android handset that will come with MiFi capabilities.

There have been a lot of rumors regarding Verizon's upcoming Android handsets (which are still unannounced, although we all know they are there), including the fact that Big Red will deliver to the market two Motorola phones and one coming from HTC (possibly the Desire, though some voices suggested Sprint's Hero too), yet this rumor seems to be the most colorful of all.

However, in case it pans out, users would be able to connect a laptop, netbook or mobile phone to Verizon Wireless' 3G network through their Android-based mobile phone, which should work like a Wi-Fi hotspot. The handset is expected to be introduced / accepted through Verizon's Open Development Program, which we already know to have approved a series of other devices.

According to the rumor, the Android smartphone with MiFi-like functionality is expected to make an appearance with Verizon sometime in early 2010. Devices with MiFi capabilities are already available for purchase in the US, and Verizon also sells one, yet it is rather hard to believe that it would launch a smartphone with this feature. However, everything is possible, so stay tuned for more updates on this.

Why can't the Droid play movies? You say it isn't a downgrade for iphone users to buy the Droid, but it definitely is if the new Droid can't even play movies.

How does it play movies? I have the Droid and I can't play movies. I have twister program and none of the digital movies I have will transfer over. I would love to hear what program or where I go on my phone to load them up. Thanks.

Hi sorry I took so long to reply.. I use the Gallery app that came with the phone. I convert my movies to H.264 bit rate at 2500 kbps Audio at 128 and aspect ratio at 848 x 480 using a program called DVD Catalyst 3. The movies play fantastic on the device no stutter bumps lags or frame rate problems at all. I just picked up the phone about 30 minutes ago from best buy and I LOVE IT!!!

when you connect the droid to your computer using the usb you should see a new drive. what i did was create a new folder and named it "movies", just drag and drop your movies into that folder. when you disconnect the droid from your pc go into gallery and should see the movie you've just added.

Good review, i made the switch to Android from iphone when the G1 came out and couldnt be happier. of course i rooted it, and will root the DROID when i get it. You know how lovley this device is going to be once XDA-DEVS hack it up?

Nice review but 2 things:

1- drop the quick cuts. I know they are supposed to be super cool but I HATE thme.

2- a digital zoom is not a great feature but something that can be done easily and probably better in PP.
