  • You're not "We the People" thus you have no standing to state any claim for which relief can be granted which includes redress of the government. Not one citizen in over 200 year has ever pledged life, fortune, and sacred honor to say they are of the Posterity of the Framers who framed you for the crime of US Enterprise and it's goddess Columbias Endeavor for the Discovery of Atlantis.

All Challengers will be destroyed so if you don't like the old Atlantis you won't like the new one.

  • @Sillywilly999 You cannot take back something that you never had.

Representation is of itself a fallacy. You cannot be represented and still be considered sane and competent, therefore the only option if you are sane and competent is to self govern and not be represented.

  • The non-Federal non-Reserve welcomes you to your destitution after 100 years of paying out an annual dividend of 6% to their mega-bank owners while having a .gov website. When you consider that Americans, both ‘democratic/labour’ and ‘republican/conservative’, before 1913 were never subject to this transfer of their wealth to the mega-banks you have to ask yourself how much less poor would the American general public be today without it and how much less warfare the world would have been spared.

  • End the non-Federal non-Reserve and all the other privately owned central banks around the world. JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley are big shareholders in the non-Federal non-Reserve but the general public will never be offered a share. Their website in section 7 states that stockholders receive an annual dividend of 6% as a profit for providing a paper currency. Teach yourself about the Austrian school of economics and you will understand we have centrally planned economies not free market.

  • Only half of 1 percent of Democrats were aware of his existence 3 years ago, and hardly anyone else knew he was running or cared what he had to say.

Sad but true. Most Dem operatives painted him as a crazed old grump who only goes on Grampa Simpson-esque jeremiads because he can't figure out how to program and iPod, not because we are in the last stages of a crumbling Empire.

I don't agree with Gravel across the board, and it's too late for him to run again, but he deserves to be heard more.

  • I'm on your team, Senator! I am so glad that you are with us! God bless America!

  • When viewing our unalienable Rights from the vantage point of science, it becomes clear they apply to all Life, from bacteria to humans, and Social systems, including Charles Darwin’s research; as in some Grand Unification principle for all Living-systems (see my channel video). The Laws of Nature trumps mortals in power; a new understanding of these Rights may help make this world a better place to live.

  • Plus we also need to increase property rights a TON more to protect people's rights (i.e. much less eminent domain, and more fair land and business laws), stuff like co-ops in the economy can also increase democracy, and a better economy and lower taxes and fairer money laws (less government intervention in the economy, obv, cuz I'm a libertarian, try it, it's fun LOL) will allow people to vote with their feet more so bad laws are less popular.

  • The solution to the problem of majoritarian taking-away of peoples rights is to make the democracy more nuanced, (i.e. people should be given control over decisions to the degree they are affected by them, so its not always 49% vs 51% all the time) ensure localism that allows for the growth of local traditions that bind the people together, increase the power of courts that can solve disputes privately and quicker than political discourse.

  • Looking at the 2008 US election from this side of the Atlantic it seemd that their we very little difference between all the Republican and Democratic candidates with the exception of Ron Paul, Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich.

  • these #*@&# write a new declaration.

  • Who is this great man of conscience?

  • Wow, you need to take a step back and stop taking yourself so seriously. If you want to make a video slamming the Bush administration and Congress and put it on youtube, fine. Wouldn't be the first or the last. But please, do not defile, through rough imitation and obsurd utopian suggestion, the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson was talking about timeless, inherent values that all men collectively share. You're talking transient, impermanent politics which nobody will remember in 5 years.

  • Great stuff, Mike. Secrecy is the greatest threat to a democracy, how can a people be said to govern themselves when they are fed nonsense. I was a big fan during your run for President... I was disappointed but not surprised how much your speaking time was limited.. It was all for show anyway, as the media decided who the front runners were, and pushed it into the brains of the people by chanting Obama and Hillary. I hope you are still out there working, and I hope to meet you one day.

  • We hold these truth to be self evident and that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

  • I wonder if Gravel thinks things haven't gotten worse than what he describes. It certainly has.

  • You are a great American and more importantly a great human being. I very much appreciate your contribution and will never forget it.

Damn, i wish you could have been our POTUS!

  • In Ex parte Milligan (1866), the Supreme Court held that the privilege of the writ could not be suspended while the civilian courts remained operational

  • Article 1 sect 9 allows for the suspension of the Writ of habeus corpus in cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public safety. Sorry, about you government education.

  • Which is what Lincoln did during thr civil war.

  • How come they hadnt changes the name of the country wen they was independent in 2008 year. My country haded changes the name after they has independent.

  • WOW. Look at the negative comments. Somebody went through and thumbed down everyone. Fuck that person. Come out and identify yourself you fucking little prick. Don't hide behind your computer screen. Revolution is Liberty

  • SO MUCH TRUTH

  • I'd really like to know the historical context of that quote if you are able to provide it.

"I know no safe depositary of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power." --Thomas Jefferson to William C. Jarvis, 1820

  • Would you agree that it is possible that once obtaining power Thomas Jefferson was corrupted by the same? Such would seem to be the case given his apparent 180 on the bank.

  • @gravel2008 Key words there are "ultimate powers". Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness reign when it comes to individual liberty.

  • Who said it was "Greek-style"? Have you ever studied the Swiss political system? That's a modern direct democracy and their constitution was modeled after ours. The National Initiative is largely based on their example and the Swiss have done a much better job at maintaining limited government through the process of direct democracy. Good luck with plutocracy.

  • @gravel2008 Some people are just ignorant...

“It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.”

    -- Winston Churchill

  • Gravel should challenge Obama in the Democratic primary in 2012...

  • Do you have any evidence of this "quote" being in print before 2005?

Here are some quotes for you:

"The further the departure from direct and constant control by the citizens, the less has the government the ingredient of republicanism." - Thomas Jefferson

The people can never willfully betray their own interests; but they may possibly be betrayed by representatives of the people. - The Federalist No. 63

Switzerland is a republic. Study their political system and you might be surprised.

  • @gravel2008

The founding fathers founded a Democratic Republic, those founding fathers many from the New England States had a Democratic from of Gov. before the USA was formed read the history of any New England town and how they passed laws then .

The founding fathers had long heated fights about what form of Gov. we should have. If you form a Republic to much power is given to a small few . If you have total Democratic Gov. to many have a say and laws would never get passed .Read history!!!

  • For a political structure made in the 18th century that is not susceptible to change it shore has changed drastically, when you compare the roll of government in say 1800 and that of the roll and capacity of government today. It has been changed a lot; it has grown from little government with maximum individual and regional liberty to big central government with very little individual and regional liberty. In short it has ignored it' has Constitutional limitations on power.

  • PS: Direct democracy, indeed democracy regardless of from has always destroyed itself, because the haves have always voted themselves wealth from the have-nots inevitably making the system insolvent. History has shown that this normally end in a Oligarchy/dictatorship. "make the trains run on time" Direct Democracy will not fix our problems it will make them much, much worse.

To fix this you got to restore the republic, restore the Constitution, maximize individual and regional liberty again.

  • Freedom is from government, not control of government but control of yourselves, which you will not find in government. We cant control government because we are but 1/300 millionth of the interest under the same government, and by far among the least powerful. Direct democracy will simply change the way we exert tyranny over each other. In the end we will be even more unhappy, and the ones who will control this will be theses best able (money) to mobilize the vote to vote away our rights.

  • Switzerland modeled their constitution after ours, but provided provisions for people to amend the constitution. They have done a much better job of maintaining values of limited government through direct democracy. "Restore the republic" is a meaningless catchphrase without direct involvement by the people in the operations of government.

  • I would agree except Switzerland is not a continental scale federation like ours. Instead she is slightly less than twice the size of New Jersey, with a population of just 7.6 million, not 300 million. Size does matter as it effects what the people can directly see, and thus be made to believe, it also effects the inherit potential for diversity. All of theses things make it easier for media and/or government to manipulate a people, or play them against each other.

  • It is by those means by which they are able to induce thou ideological the competitive allegiances the necessary to blind the people into giving them whatever powers they like.

FDR did this quite well in the 1930s when he won full control of both houses of congress via the nearly elected senate. By the way he bashed Hoover, which in turn allowed FDR effetely to blackmail the court into later disregarding the limitations on power imposed by the U.S. Constitution.

  • As you know under article 5 of the Untied States Constitution, the states retain the capability to call a convention for the propose of amending the U.S. Constitution, very much like the referendum you speak of, just more permanent and more powerful.

  • As it happens the proper solution to a Federal government out of control is the State governments which create and empower that same government, much the same as we the people created and empowered the State Governments.

  • In this respect the States are not unlike a body of people, there is just fewer of them with greater investigative tools as to ascertain what is going on in a distant government. If we merely get our states to protect their own rights they will themselves provide a forum of adequately small size for us to directly protect our own individual rights.

  • A forum of government that has the additional benefit allowing a inherently diverse people the greatest freedom possible not only in their ability to customize government to their cultural/Geographic needs, with the strongest vote possible, but also the never understated ability to vote with their feet and best escape the inevitable tyranny of the Majority that develops from democracy.

  • In effect we will get to a greater degree a system of competition between the state governments for people and business. A kind of free market of government which in itself will help keep them honest.

  • And how are Article V conventions working out for you? Ever heard of Friends of the Article V Convention?

  • It is my understandings that the States must call a convention for a common propose, it is true that there have been many close calls for conventions but never the required 34 on a signal matter. It seems it will be necessary that we get 34 states to pass identical calls for a convention, and should congress fail to recognize such a call, we should hold the convention anyway, at the date and place specified in the call.

  • Instead of changing the word we should look to the genius of the past. We need to all be a citizen. I do agree that government continues to take away or limit individual right. Once again a majority of people don't vote. A federal government has attempt to take away right from the state and have central power of energy, health care and the financial system. We first need to take care of ourselves our finance and health is our responsibility.

  • The Declaration of Independence was a statement for the people of this country that not only were they a free country but free individual. The calayst for this change was war. These Patriots were willing to risk life for this freedom. Now people think they deserve right simple by being born in American. They do have the rights afforded in the bill of rights including the right to pursue happiness. Pursuit is a challenge, a struggle. Were are all created equal after that is our responsibly.

  • listen to the original one. One of the original task of the Constitution promote the general welfare. Drugs have destroyed countries such as Afghanistan, Mexico and many other African countries. Drug use run rampant and threaten our county. Our recreational activities are supporting drug lords and terrorist. Unintended consequence. Only 30% of citizen vote in election, even less for local government. The people need to be educated on the role as citizens

  • Start out good but quickly falls into a liberal adaptation of the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration was a statement of United State against the Tyranical British rule. Not only where they a free state, country, they were a free people. Free to chose and decide their future. True freedom is realized through self reliance. Today there is no self reliance. We do depend on government to much. For food stamps, health insurance, college and education. Only 30% of "Citizens" vote

  • This should be featured today. I am posting it on the NI4D twitter page.

  • What we need to do is to simply form an "unspoiled" legislative body, and have it debate and vote on policy matters to determine what the true will of the american people is. Such a body would have no real power, but would set an example for members of the actual government.

  • How true. How sad. One close to my heart is the fact that Obama spoke on campaign about our Educational sytem and how our students can not afford tution.

what happens when He became President. College tutitions are on the rise

They are laying off teachers across our nation.

What about our children having the tools to function in our society and now global society.

Our children should be taught the laws we live under. Begining at primary education the language of law .

  • if this came to pass...u better belive that marijuana will be legal. the peeps will vote.

  • a truly great man.

  • He said that he wants to restore our Founding Principals. I would be willing to bet he does not feel that way at all when it comes to matters of property and liberty.

  • Mr. Gravel is a voice of common sense in this crazy world.

  • whats the difference between fortune and property???? your a joke

  • Thomas Jefferson selected that particular word for a very distinct purpose.

  • Wich is ? You cant just throw such a statement out there without backing it up? Or do you want to keep your special knowledge of Jeffersons intentions to yourself?

  • They chose fortunes because a fortune can be sacrificed in the cause of freedom. Property is considered a pillar of freedom> To have property is to be free. If a perspn sacrifices his property then he loses that freedom to which all men should strive. I find it amazing of the collective ignorance of the American people. We profess to be free but we are not educated on the principles of freedom.

  • wat in the world is thisss?

  • What the fuck is this? They mangled the declaration.

  • that's the point.

  • wow, a PC declaration.

it never ceases to amaze me.

the time to protect national, state, and personal sovereignty is NOW!

  • It is a subtle clue, and most Americans don't pick up on it. These people leave subtle clues all over the place as to what's really going on. A symbol, a hand gesture, a slip of the tongue, it's all about the initiates and uninitiates. It's subtle and the uninitiated don't pick up on these subtle clues, but the initiated do. There's a language being spoken all over the world, and nobody but those few initiated pick up on that language cuz it's all in a code only they understand.

  • There's 2 numbers in this hidden language that are probably the most important... those 2 numbers being 32 & 33, and this is where you'll find the initiates that know this secret code.

  • them 2 numbers are world-wide, and it's where you find the initiates. Unless you know what I'm talking about, then you won't know what I'm talking about. That's the code for you.

  • It took the EU around 20-30 years to transform from a free trade area into a new european central government with it's own currency. the people whose opinions are the only ones that mattered knew that's where they were leading to, a centralized european superstate, but they built it a brick at a time over a span of around 3 decades. now all these unions have been created and it won't be but about another 3 decades before they begin to be MERGED into world government.

  • and if u think the people are far away from the decision making process now, just wait until world government comes. the people couldn't be any farther away from the decision making process as they will be then.

  • if ppl haven't noticed... If u want to see the plans for the United States, look deeply at the EU. Biometric passports, street light cameras hooked into insurance, police, and registration databases, explosive growth in DNA databases, a new currency, and so on and so forth. All this is happening in England first because.... ? The controlling interests behind England never gave up control of the world... they merely rose a new nation to power to conquer the world to annex to England--the US.

  • England is the focal point of all these changes. It's happening there first because that's where the marching orders for the western governments is coming from. England still controls the United States from behind the scenes, and what's happening there is what will be happening here. It's happening there first because that is where all this stuff is originating. Militaries aren't near as powerful as the people who are controlling the nations with the militaries.

  • All the United States is, really, is the military arm of England to conquer the world with and annex all of the conquered lands to England. That is the cold, hard truth. The United States still belongs to England from behind the scenes, and the only thing left to do is make it official by merging it with England which is what the plans are to merge the NAU with the EU.

  • I would have figured most Americans would have caught onto the fact that we are conquering the world for England by way of the fact that all these lands we conquer and set up a democracy their president is called a 'prime minister.' The United States doesn't have a Prime Minister, England does. The fact that these new conquered lands and transformed democracies create a presidential position by the title of Prime Minister is a SUBTLE clue thrown in our face which the uninitiated don't realize

  • I know all I need to know about the government and all anybody else has to know about it. The government is corrupt, the politicians that run it are corrupt, the corporations and bankers that are buying off the politicians are corrupt, and they're acting in unison to fuck us all. From president of the US all the way to your local city councils, it's one long strand of corruption, and the higher you go in it, the more corrupt it gets.

  • Obama is going to be the SAME as Bush ultimately. If he's president, he's in on it. He may not understand the whole of the system and where exactly his orders are coming from, but he wouldn't be there if he wasn't following them. The VP wouldn't be where he is if he wasn't in on it. I thank he followed orders pretty well being on the foreign policy council did he not? More of the same. Bush followed orders and implemented the agenda, and now Obama will implement the next steps in it.

  • I expect to see stronger European integration, and strengthening of the North American Union under this administration since supranational things like that have been traditionally Democrat things... the League of Nations, the UN, etc. I expect to see that from the Obama Administration.

  • Most of which is all about merging the NAU with the EU, the PU, the CAU, the SAU, etc. It's all about creating a world government in baby steps. Break the whole of the world down into 7 new governments, then merge 7 into 3, then 3 into 1.

  • The NAU is set to merge with the EU. I'm not making up shit or guessing. The process has already been started and it's called Transatlantic European Integration. It's happening NOW. I don't have to guess or speculate about the NAU merging with the EU as the process has already been started.

  • The NAU will be merged into the EU. It will happen. It's already been decided it WILL happen by the people whose opinions on geopolitics are the only ones that matter. It will happen, but it won't happen tommorrow or the next day. It'll happen over something like a 20 to 30 year span. They know where they want to ultimately end up, but if they did it in one step, the people wouldn't accept it.

  • So, they start small. Oh well, it's not an 'actual government' it's just making our policies more congruent with one another. Then it'll be, we need a small governing body to handle trade relations and stuff, etc. The little steps they'll take will be minor, tiny steps into merging the US with England which has been the stated goal of the Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Morgans, etc 100 years ago. Don't believe me, consult with a Norman Dodd interview.

  • I'm not guessing or making anything up. There are plans these people are implementing a little a time to take us ultimately somewhere far, far away from where we are today. Once you see elements of the plans they're implementing today, it makes it a little easier to see what they're leading up to. I'm not a prophet. I don't get my information from the aether. I just use what I know to intuit what's going to happen.

  • I have to be a god damn genius. I know what's going on, what will go on and why at 27 years old. I know more shit about more shit than most people twice my age, and it should be obvious you know that I know what I'm talking about. I'm gettin so god damn sick of seeing what the hell is going on and being powerless as shit to change it. Let alone the fact that 80% of people in this country are fuckin idiots and couldn't find their ass with both hands let alone understand what's going on.

  • Then watch the big guy use the media he owns to blame the little guys he forced into the poor house and thus distract everybody's attention from him for being responsible for the problem. What forced the people to default on their mortgages was ultimately the fact that the cost of living because of inflation jumped rapidly by excessive inflation of the money supply that was held almost in its entirety by a few hands, and the artifically inflated oil prices.

  • These poor saps suckered into the adjustable rate mortgages pushed so hard on televsion during the Clinton years when interests rates were so low got the big dick of interest stuck deep in their ass when astounding inflation was manipulated into creation and the fed's reaction of raising interest rates to curb inflation. Now their house payment went up, and so did the cost of living. All of which was manipulated into existence so they WOULD lose their homes, and bust the housing bubble.

  • These motherfuckers are thinking years in advance on how they're gonna fuck us all, and SOMEONE needs to start telling people and showing people what they're doing and why. These people didn't get to where they are by being stupid. It's not like they just happened to do some shit and fuck up and create a crisis on accident. They fucked up and created a crisis ON PURPOSE, and people need to show and tell people HOW.

  • Saudi Arabia is on its way out as the oil king of the world.... Saudi Arabia is now EXPENDABLE now that the US has control of Iraq's oil fields, but that's all part of the PLAN anyway. Saudi Arabia has been in the process of transitioning their economy off oil sales for a LONG time. They're going to be fine since they own so much of our shit. Their interest payments and capital gains will keep the kingdom going for a long time now that they own this country.

  • The house of Saud bought and paid for this country with our money... Sad but true. They're going to be fine. They own enough of our country to simply stop selling oil and bank off the prosperity of our country through their investments.

  • All the tanking economy and bailouts were for was to INCREASE the purchasing power of the people that really run shit and mass liquidate American property like they did during the great depression. Same old shit, but most people don't realize it. Inflate the currency so bad everybody goes broke trying to maintain their lifestyle, take everybody's money and make them lose their property, cause the little companies that own all this shit to go out of business, and buy all their shit for cheap.

  • the big boys loaded up the problem, drove everybody into the poor house, forced their little competitors out of business, got the government to give them even more money to purchase up their competitors stuff with, drive their purchasing power up by giving them more money to buy homes with and decreasing the value of homes across the board by flooding the market with them through money troubles they created, and alas, u have a mass liquidation of property by the big boys who created the problem

  • Not only are they the people who decide where the money comes from, they decide where it goes. So, it's time to look behind the curtain and see the people standing behind it. Let's look at these wars we're in right now for some answers. Why is 95% of the private contractors in Iraq and not Afghanistan? It's a simple question with a simple answer. Afghanistan has NO oil or natural gas. Iraq has 50 known virgin oil fields the US's backed sanctions in the UN Security Council kept virgin.

  • The US's war debt in Iraq is being ARTIFICIALLY manipulated and increased for one reason and one reason only. Iraq will have to pay back the United States for the war debt it incurred in 'liberating' them(their oil fields more in actuality), and the Iraqi people won't see a penny from their oil fields for a LONG, LONG time. We're borrowing so much from China because China is the next European and United States super power being set up as the enemy in the next world war.

  • The coalition oil companies are opening up Iraq's oil fields for 'foreign investment,' and that's the first they they pushed on the new Iraqi government that divided them to no end. What this means is that the coalition oil companies will be fronting the cost of putting rigs on these 50 known virgin oil fields, will leave Iraq with 12% of the profit until their investment is paid of with that remaining 12% going to the United States to pay off the war debt. The cost of the rigs will be inflated

  • Afghanistan is virtually a non-issue, and that's WHY hardly no private contractors are in Afghanistan. All Afghanistan is going to be used for is a pipeline running from the Caspian Sea tapping it's natural gas and oil reserves and piped through Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and over to India. The TAPI pipeline. They have NOTHING of their own to give us, so we're not focused on inflating their war debt as much as we are with Iraq who has the world's 3rd or 4th larges provable oil reserves

  • That's the reason for the cost plus contracts... it's all part of a big conspiracy to redistribute the nation's wealth from the poor people to the rich, and then rape the Iraqi people out of it. Gas prices is going down because oil is going down because they're going to dump the price of a barrel of oil so Iraq's oil won't be worth shit on the market so they can get MORE oil out of them before the coalition oil companies get paid off and the war debt is paid off.

  • I was saying YEARS ago, they were going to dump the price of oil for this EXACT reason. The less Iraqi oil is WORTH, the MORE they have to give to the coalition oil companies to pay them off and the more they have to sell to pay the US off for it's war debt. Iraq oil is going to FLOOD the market soon enough and tank the oil market, but our gas prices will remain constant giving oil companies more profits using the excuse of 'lack of refining capacity.' WATCH. It's going to happen.

  • Look man, you're talking about special interests and lobbyists controlling the government. At one level that's true, but there's a level deeper than that. What controls our government is money... now, it's time we look at the paper trail. Who are the one's that control our government? Well, naturally, the people where all our money originates. The interests behind the Federal Reserve: Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Morgans, Schiffs, etc. These are the people where all money comes from.

  • We don't control our government.... The decision is made, and the media is used to indoctrinate the people with it.

  • Who would be a great president of the USA? Any of the following: Ralph Nader, Ron Paul, Mike Gravel, Cynthia McKinney. Please support and vote for one of them in 2012......

  • Declaration of independene is more then just a way of life.. it IS LIFE! Everyone had better understand that!

But it is just a piece of paper. Bush is RIGHT! It takes the people of America to uphold it through courage and revolution if need be. Be willing to sacrifice their own lives. Courage is more than a word, or proudful feeling... Its a sacrifice when the call of duty requires it.

    Peace all

  • I have to add.. revolution is always the last step of gaining back control. The watch-dogs that stop companies or government agencies from getting too powerful is how you hinder it by taking them out of power, or voting them out before they get too powerful. It takes the people to watch things. But they don't teach you this in school, so its getting by everyone. Sometimes Revolution is that last resort. But are we that far gone?

People make America, not the other way around

    Peace to everyone

  • Maybe "control" is a bad word to use. "Fairness" is more suitable to what the people of America want. Control is what the greedy want.

  • The USA is a bussiness. Its also our home. Its where we raise our families and educate them. The oppressions of the people of this country are based off of the greed of our government. If the people are stressed and struggle for a living and education, then the government doesn't flourish either, unless they change society. Greedy money powers can take their money at any time in this economy and injure it by leaving country. This is why we can't allow monopolies to run this country. Too powerful

  • The US broke? Not even close! People changing investments to secure the future of America is all. Big money investors, pissed off about the treatment of the car companies, try to make a difference in the economy. Sure they injured it some, but not collaps it. The american people can collaps it by not spending as much money, and by saving and not going into debt through banks. USA needs to get affordable health and insurances for Americans. Simple as that! I'm saving every penny till they fix it.

  • Monopolies and inside government scandals cause rising prices. In a true competeing economy, competition is what keeps prices low. And that's not happening any more. Gov. have too much red tape and fees for competetors to go through to stay in business. They turn their heads for their friends and fine the competators on broken regulations. Exploiters protecting their investments & using tax money to create companies that will only make profits from the tax payers later, using our money. So Sad.

  • The last thing we need is more debt, or taxes, or more corporations moving into our town. They've monopolized it all. Screw $430 monthly medical insurance. Car insurance is all I'll carry. Everyone is insurance poor and debating life or debt/death. The hospitals gougine everyone. Screw borrowing money from banks. Screw credit cards. I'll be shopping road side stands for food and helping out mom & pop stors. Buy USA! I'm not spending a penny till they fix this country.

  • I will heal my daughter and defend our Constitution to my last breath!!

  • It is our duty to "defend the Constitution from al enemies foreign or DOMESTIC"

  • I blame the US government US vaccination program for my daughter's Autism, it's an epidemic now! There was no autism in China until they started importing vaccines from the US, now it's epidemic there too.

  • Maybe armed revolution?

  • The original purpose of a republic was to have educated people protect uneducated people from themselves. But even the most uneducated people of today are smarter than average people were two hundred years ago. Now our republic serves only to perpetuate a corrupt and malevolent aristocracy and the right to bare arms is obviously not enough to keep it in check. Nothing less than direct participation by the people in all legislative matters will be enough to enable us to secure our liberty.

  • it's our right to abolish our government, it's in the original declaration. So if enough people are really upset with the government we can tear it down and build it back up the right way again.

YES WE CAN! ITA VERO PARAMUS!

  • Very nice speech...

    Greetings from Denmark

  • ... and what, exactly, is the point of posting comments of fear and submission?

  • "it is the duty, not just the right of the people to change the government to provide new safeguards for the citizens' security and happiness."

TOO LATE! They've already legislated this kind of thinking to be "Homegrown Terrorism"! Think like this, and get shot! Learn now how to be good slaves, so you won't be too shocked in the near future.

  • I don't care if all I have to start with is a steak knife. If it even becomes necessary for me to fight for my rights and the rights of my children and grandchildren, I'll use it the first chance I get to kill a fascist. Then I'll use his weapon to kill the next fascist, and so on until I'm floating a battleship up Congress's ass!

  • Hey Dopey! it is too late! forget it! you people brought your form of government with you and now the European Bankers are doing to us what they have been doing to your people in Europe. Europeans stole this land and enslaved Africans, killed Native Americans and now it has come back to bite you in the "A"! so quit whining!

  • 80% of Americans are to busy watching football,sit-coms and collecting welfare! 20% of Americans think we are the greatest! So nobody listens to this beautiful message, and "NOTHING CHANGES IF NOTHING CHANGES!" THANKS YOU-TUBE!! KUDOS!

  • I like the paragraph,

However, if a Government controlled by special interests becomes unconcerned with the public's wellbeing and destructive of the people's rights, it is the duty, not just the right of the people to change the government to provide new safeguards for the citizens' security and happiness.

That's what Eagle Eye was all about.

  • in 1973 the US should have begun to developed an alternative power source for oil. Japan saw the writing on the walland began a national program to cut oil imports and cut energy use. Gravel is telling it like it is. The government has been stolen by the industrial-military-finance complex. Secrecy of the cold war ran rampant leading to a totalitarian state.

  • Mike Gravel is great and so is Ralph Nader. They are VERY similar. PLEASE vote and support Nader for President 2008.

  • A bit late for that, don't you think? :)

  • WHY? Nader is on the ballot. Even if he doesn't get elected this time, why not cast a vote to show that not all Americans are brainwashed by the corporate-owned-and-operated media ("Big Brother")? I consider it a Protest Vote, or, a Demonstration Vote. I'm voting from my heart, not out of fear. I urge all Americans to do the same. Thank you for asking.

  • because no one like nader because he doesn't get things done, if he did people would like him more. And an election isn't an experiment, take it seriously.

  • If you think that Nader doesn't "get things done", why don't you check out his biography??? He has done SO much for you and the USA's people over the past 40 years it's unbelieveable how you can make such an ignorant statement.....

  • Mr. Gravel, you melt the ice of cynicism from my heart.

  • This is what we deserve as a President, Not a delusional criminal like McCain

  • FREEDOM

  • And this man was not elected to presidency?

Shows how brainwashed we really are.

  • Why wasn't this man elected as president? I would've voted for Gravel just from seeing him talk in this video and if he kept to this.

o.O Had to of been something that made people not vote him in?

  • same thing happened to all candidates that made sense

  • Please don't say "we"

  • the new world order is prophecy. Our responsibility is to save souls for JESUS. JESUS lives and HE is coming again. HE LOVES YOU

  • insanely CORRECT... He talks about real issues.. not BULLSHIT they talk on the debates... they dont ask the hard questions..

  • never heard of this guy but in his avatar he looks completely insane!

  • keep it up Mike.

  • You could have used a better 'education.' You wrote an entire paragraph, sort of, and didn't manage to say anything. Typical socialist trash.

  • Socialism is an amazing form of government when mixed with capitalism. Look at Canada and France for example, they don't have nearly as many problems as we do.

Pure capitalism is what has caused unrest in health care, oil prices and low-income families. Without capitalism having such a deathgrip on our country, we would have been able to convert to cleaner, cheaper forms of energy years ago.

Instead I have to drop 50 bucks on a tank of gas that's sucking the world dry. Imagine that.

  • We haven't had 'pure capitalism' in this country for decades, if ever. The 'mix' has what's caused the current financial mess.

Your spending so much on fuel because the eco-commies stopped us from building more refineries and from drilling on our own land, which the oil companies love because it makes them more money. Funny that.

Allowing the 'commodities market' to affect the price of oil doesn't help either.

  • Integral world governance - towards communities that integrate communities within themselves, all of which exist in peace, proosperity. Transcending and including nation-states.

  • Oh yeah, we want to gamble our rights on the whims of the brain-dead sheeple who will soon put Obamacommie or McCommie in the White House.

Are you stupid or just evil?

"Democracy is the road to socialism. - Karl Marx

"A world of unseen dictatorship is conceivable, still using the forms of democratic government." - Kenneth Boulding, University of Michigan, quoted in The Hidden Persuaders

see my quotes page for more, click on my name.

  • 'Whims of the brain-ded sheeple'. Think about that deeply. See if yoou can grab your own tail or something, proverbially of course. BTW are you in support of better education? If not then reconsider your eniter ideology. Bring about prosperous and developmental change or continue in the old ways or just be passive and just criticize without contributing.........

  • It's a representative republic, not a representative democracy you idiot. Read the Constitution before you pretend to harp on it.

  • Damn...We should have gone for Gravel... He seems much better than McCain.

  • McCain sucks so much that McCain's negative effects could reach to the rest of the world. If McCain were to win, he'd screw with Russia, and Russia would try to re-annex my country called Estonia...

  • I like Mike Gravel, i dont like McCain because McCain wont fight as hard to restore Americas Civil Liberties and fight coporations who corrupt government.

  • GRAVEL kucinich paul nader

    lp...

  • we are the people!!!

    slogan of the east germans

    in protest few days before

    the berlin wall falls

  • A true democracy only lasts until the people realize that they can vote wealth to themselves. Then the many rape the few and the country devouers itself. Like this republic is currently doing but without any restraint. No It would be much better to limit the power as a court of last appeal to overturn unjust supream court rulings only.

  • I somewhat agree but we have problems. There is no accountability from our elected officials. We put them in office and CANNOT recall them if they do not represent 'we the people'. Recall elections do not cover national level positions. Limiting the power of the government agencies also will not occur. "We know better" is how the government operates. At times they are right but as (if not more) often they are wrong.

  • I can hardly wait to see how this country changes when a Libertarian becomes President (unfortunately, it won't be Gravel).

  • is it possible to block certain people from leaving comments? By the way I'm Asian (NOT WHITEY) and I am pissed at ColonialismIsEvil.

UR STUPID RETARD! Get that moron?

There's no use speaking rationally to you. You are clearly spamming this page.

  • ColonialismIsEvil

You are wasting everyones time, including your own.

Debating or having any sort of normal communication with you is pointless so I'm stopping.

  • time to vote the lesser of two evils is here again ...

Are you ready to skip them first two evil candidates and vote ANYONE ELSE yet?

  • As a descendant of a Revolutionary War Hero (they were all heroes), I'm exempt from any further bad news regarding America.

  • ColonialismIsEvil

    Again you prove my point.

You think spelling is more important than caring. (even though your spelling is much worse)

You repeat many words like "tribe", "cockroach", "inbreed" and "whitetrash", further suggesting you are brainwashed by your beliefs.

You prejudicedly accuse me of being KKK while in fact I consider all humans to be equal.

...and also mentioning "ADAM&EVE" as if I am Christian or religious.

Your ignorance and astounding state of denial will be your demise.

  • Thank you ColonialismIsEvil for making my point.

How can anyone care what you say when you show them no respect and doesn't try to speak like someone who still has a brain.

My apologies for misspelling a word in your language. Not all non-english can speak flawlessly.

I see what you're trying to say, but it's hard to care when you speak like an angry caveman.

If I am dumbed down then speak to me in a way I can understand, instead of offending everyone you talk to.

  • I'm not American citizen so I have no right to judge the candidate but if I was one I'll vote for Mike Gravel. At last a candidate who can show what American was and could be again : (responsible, honest and respectful to others) with a president with heart and balls.

A plus Mike et bonne chance on crois en toi

  • :*(

  • mike gravel...... A MAN TO LISTEN TO!!!!

    brilliant speech !!!!

to have a leader like Mike G.,wold be some thing I tell you that!!!!

    *****

  • Obama would be wise to consider this gentleman for VP choice!!
