  • the pilot is nor very good

  • @241195dkl1 Have you ever flown an aircraft of that size? If not you shouldn't judge thier flying ability.

  • I bet it's more expensive than a PS3 XD

  • @CocktailPartyTime the definition retard is the opposite of acceleration. When sometings gets retard it is pulled back, just like you do when flaring and setting throttle to idle. So, it is a combination, not only just idle.

  • Hey, the engineers at airbus should put some more... er... better than this odd RETARD RETARD RETARD... something like... MON AMIE, TU EST ARRIVË FINALEMENT or ES QUE VOUS VOULEZ AN CAFE AU LAIT?

  • @TheBarbaciano Brilliant !!!

  • Oh man I wanna use that simulator!!!!!

  • @pvarela2 well you can. its costs about 350 euros if you arange a lesson at lufthansa training center through proflight company. i did and it rocks

  • All newer airbus planes do this A380 and newer Retard in french means slow down/slow or decrease so this is just the plane telling you that this is the point where you should set the throttle to idle and let the plane hit the ground.

  • HAHA! THE PLANE SAID RETARD!

  • It's funny how it says RETARD

  • it would be REALLY AWESOME to have that simulator at home :'D

  • @1REBandVoDkA why not build one?

  • There training simulators ya? can you get in one for fun?

  • "RETARD" doesn't mean "apply reverse thrust"! It simply means that pilot must reduces throttle to idle and lift up the nose to land.

  • CAE sim FTW!!

  • what's wrong at 0.58 min? dispute about who has throttle control? :D

  • @vsbfbmusic: actually, the copilot is engaging the reverse throttles. This reverse throttle control is located just above the throttle command.

  • @vppicard ah ok... thanks for the answer, didn't watch it close enough. but I thought normally the person who has throttle control also engages the reversers on the ground (?) maybe he forgot it here, so the person on the right seat had to help

  • wow this is cool, there are not too many a380 cockpit vids out yet.

  • Would love to know who provides the visuals for the real LvL D sims.

  • i'v done that

  • 34 million dollars simulator..Maybe China can make fake A380 sim which going to cost only 10.000 dollars :P

  • The awkward moment when you skid off the runway and the plane repeatedly calls you a retard.

  • Be a captain of the A380 is a dream come true . ; )

    WOW!

  • you have no idea what I would do to simply sit in that cockpit, even as a simulator. SO FUCKING COOL

  • was the first officer teaching the pilot? :S

  • @afgrocks123

    LOL

there is no first officer in the simulator.. that man must be the trainer.

  • ahahahahahahaha the plane is making fun of the pilots

  • i want that simulator!

  • sounds like HAL

  • I want to be the retard voice one day.

  • will it ever be possible to watch an airbus video without someone making some daft 'retard' comment?

  • @tjf4375 Think yourself lucky you don't get the comments coming to your inbox as owner of the video!

  • @sy2015 20... retard... retard RETARD!!

  • retard in its simplest state is to slow down, pull back, my god what are they teaching you Americans nowadays?

  • @madflyer1093 Don't speak towards the entire American Nationality due to one citizen who was unaware of what the word "Retard" means in terms of aviation...

  • jesus. "retard" in this case is in verb form, which means "decelerate"!!!

  • @cerrutiboy1 it dose not it means "FLARE" then move the throttles to idle!

  • FSX go to hell, I WANT THIS ONE!!!!!

  • 50. 40. 30, 20 RETARD! RETARD! RETARD! RETARD!

  • What a rude plane

RETARD RETARD!! You know how to land? .... RETARD!

  • is it retard or retar

  • decelerate/reverse-thrust...so thats the meaning of RETARD... XD.....

  • Dam, I wish i got one of these simulator..... :(

  • just saying its ritard not retard its also a musical term as well just a slow down to a stop

  • @zandrewss1 I think you're referring to the italian word, Ritardando, meaning gradually slower. However, the callout used by Airbus is definately 'Retard' - from the French word 'retarder', meaning to hold back or slow down. Both are derived from the latin 'retardare' but as Airbus Industrie are based in France, I think it's most likely they would be using the French derivative.

  • 50, 40, 20, RETARD!!!!

  • retar is that you put in reverse the plane

  • when i saw the retard comments, first thing i thought was:

when i scroll down, there are 200 comments explaining why the autopilot says retard.

I scrolled down and what did i see, 200 comments explaining why the autpilot says retard and what it means... we're just having fun and tell jokes about it, don't be so damn serious =]

  • I wanna play with that thing! GRRRRR

  • The retard is to retard the throttles to idel position....

  • @rafapiloto175 No you idiot retard in an aircraft means to flare THEN move the throttles to idle position.

  • @bretto05208

Flare?? An A380? Go eat grass, dumb...read before say something...

  • Looks like a rough landing....

  • I wonder if it can simulate a giant gapping hole on the plane... lol

  • @gangstahero1770 The 320 sim at our training centre simulates a hole ( damage on the airframe) for depressurization drills... lots f noise accompanied by a banging sound n then loss of cabin pressure. but the party piece is the smoke one. the whole sim fills up with smoke in case of avionics smoke.

  • lolololololololololol reatard reatard reatard

  • there is a difference between retard and reverse thrust!!! they retarded that is reduced the throttle . reverse thrusters can only be engaged after touch down.

  • @flightfreak100 no, retard means retard the airflow, put reverse thrust on.

  • @appleglory Can't reverse thrust whilst still in the air.

  • @appleglory it means retard the engines to idle

  • Worst aircraft on the earth piloted by the the least traveled pilots equals best airline? I think not.

  • @WISEBL00D Qantas is one of the best airlines there is, and it's the oldest, most experienced one on the planet. Aussie Qantas pilots are among the best pilots in the world, and they are by no means the least traveled. Until recently, Qantas had a safety record without a single incident, after some 85 years of service. Yes, lately a few things have gone wrong, but I'd pin it on the offshore maintenance (moved to Malaysia in 2005). Nobody was hurt in any of those incidents, thanks to our pilots.

  • you guys are such idiots.. it is saying retard for the pilot to pull the throttle to idle.. another word for idle is retard..... stupid fuck

  • @Mcnadio Sorry bitch, you probably was born and knowing everything

  • are thay useing fsx or xplane

  • why does it say retard, retard, retard?

  • ewwwww flare fail!

  • does qantas use a proprietary flight sim or is it something like x-plane or microsoft?

  • wish my sim looked like that

  • Was the simulator calling them a retard? lol

  • is it in real plne

  • @MaguireWard Boeing aircraft do not have the retard call outs because Boeing throttle systems actually move when the auto throttle system is in-gauged. As the pilot is landing his hands will be resting on the throttles so even if he were to forget to pull back the throttles the plane will do it. Since Airbus aircraft to not have a moving throttle system when in auto throttle mode the "retard, retard" is to remind the pilot that he is at 20ft and needs to retard the throttles. hope this helps.

  • @MaguireWard Its an autothrottle callout during flare to retard the thrust levers. It is a reminder to reduce power to idle so that the aircraft can settle onto the runway. It is also a reminder because if the pilot were to be doing a manual landing with auto throttles on as the aircraft gets to about 20ft unless the pilot retards the throttles the auto throttles will automatically increase power causing the plane not to land.

  • @MaguireWard its telling it to the pilot cos hes to low. it calls the pilot a retard then he pulls up :)

  • yea the airplanes right. airbus is retarded.

  • Its a flight sim... not a real plane

  • Did that plane really call me a retard? :(

  • @iwantpk2 yes, he did! he's a very very bad plane!!

  • people compare the a380 and the 747, id compare a 747 with an a340 before this.

  • nice landing

  • ba boom

  • landing such a plane like a30 must be difficult

  • Now I'm wondering what the MTOW is:P

  • just wondering what is an average VREF for the A380, with a standard pax and ZFW and so on...:)

  • @AviationHD1

VREF is landing reference speed. So i suppose you're asking me for the average landing speed?

If soi think it's around 208 app speed. As for the landing speed it's around a VREF of 160-165 kias.

  • @HDviation With full flaps and around 90000 total weight.

If I am wrong, I'm always open to corrections:)

  • @HDviation VREF with Flaps/slats at full is 135-140 Knots Indicated air speed. Even though the A380 is larger then the 747-400, its Vref is lower. This is due to the aircrafts high aspect ratio. I love the A380 :)

  • @peterspare Thanks for the info

  • Rofl airplane got pissed at the speed they were going and started saying, retard retard...retard! haha jk

  • @AJsfree2toke its french to "slow down". Its an aural message to remind the pilots to move the throttle quadrant back to idle position. It will keep saying retard until they do though it is funny :D

  • does reverse thrust operate on the 2 middle engines only? or all 4 engines

  • I want one of these simulators!!! anyone wanna spare me 14 million? :)

  • Is it saying retard

  • @XboxJT1 Yes.. it means you should pull the throttle to idle :D

  • Geiillllllll

  • I know what is meant by the annunciator saying retard, retard, retard but I still find it as funny as hell.

  • Annunciator: Fourty. Thirty. Twenty. Retard! Retard, retard, re-

    Pilot: STFU!

  • @thatrandomhumanbeing RETARD.. RETARD.. RETARD.. RETARD!!!!!! I <3 AIRBUS BECAUSE OF THIS, THE ONLY AIRPLANE THAT SAYS IT I THINK

  • Retard retard lol lol. Got dissed by a 'bus

  • @AeroNevin Retard means Retard the throttle stupid

  • Thanks for sharing cheers :)

  • Wow, anyone know if there's a full screen video of the graphics from that simulator? Or is it based on real video footage somehow?

  • This is a good landing!

  • 日本にA380型機を来てほしい。

  • @yosshiydsno1 を って・・・・ 文法。

  • @sy2015. is it realy saying retard? it kinda sounds like reach on to me.

  • @LufthansaA343 Retard means retard the controls

  • @stuya9 i know what it means !

  • this is fucking funny as hell dude it was retard that crap is funny lol

  • @sy2015 RETARD means bring the thrust levers to idle, not into reverse. it's said right in the flare to settle the aircraft on the ground. after that, then the reversers are deployed

  • I forget how these things are soo real. Love how it shakes when the rear and nose wheels land. and the cars moving on qantas drive. Really good. Are you a pilot yourself or you managed to get into Qantas top secret flight training facility. I managed to get there once but couldnt go in. I didnt have "enough" clearance.

  • what simulator software do they use??

  • That was a "ehh...I don't know..." kinda touchdown even to Microsoft Flight Simulator standards...why? because it's about 1 to 2 seconds premature. Good thing and GOOD reason why the flying pilot is in a 380 SIMULATOR.

  • That is absolutely amazing. Computers have come such a long way in only the last 20 years or so.

  • god ill do anything to try this simulator

  • i would give so much for flying in this simulator!!

  • retard..retard..retard...LMAO..

  • The correct term is "Palin-American".

  • the plane is smart it knows when the pilot is a retard!!!! LOL

  • e du svenne?

  • Dont you just love cockpit warnings? =] I just KEEP laughing at 'retard, retard' LOL

  • Comment removed

  • is it me or it sayd retard tetard! ;) hahaha just kiding

  • the cam system is good on the a380

  • retard, retard, retard lol. just great airbus.

  • very nice!!

  • looks very real. I thought it was real until the emergency part

  • it means to cut throttle

  • @moose6692 I know what it means.....

  • I noticed at 1:19 the primary flight display changes to a tail cam view. Is this just part of the sim or is this feature actually part of the A380? Outside of cost I've always wondered why modern airliners don't use more outside cams ie 360 degree tail cam, belly cam etc. Could be a handy tool for pilots both in the air and on the ground. Cool simulator!

  • It's a real feature, used on the real aircraft after landing and under a certain speed. There are markings indicating where the main wheels are under the wings to avoid going off the taxiway especially during turns.

  • @just1left Its something that Airbus has put into the A380 and also the little screens in the backs of seats can access this camera at any time.

  • @just1left I´´ve saen in a video that this is real.

  • @just1left ......just a thought...who need artificial horizon once you're on the ground?

  • @just1left LOL it is a simulator cause all the pilots have to learn from a simulator before piloting these babies and maybe the feature is real

  • landing one of these must be a bitch.

  • With the fly-by-wire technology, it makes it very simple. One of the test pilots who first flew the 380 remarked that it was like driving a bicycle...and very smooth. Things have changed from the days when aircraft climbed like rocks :P

  • @Intelpentium54321 I heard some of the pilots sayed it was like landing a smaller plane.

  • @Intelpentium54321 Actually it's quite easy if u auto landing... in an auto land the only thing the pilot does is pull back the throttle to idle what the computer says: RETARD RETARD :p

Then they pull it back one more notch for reverse thrust.

  • @Intelpentium54321 the bigger they are the easier it is

  • @Intelpentium54321 probably as easy as a 777. Harder to land a Senneca 2, a small twin.

  • Who is on the left seat is he gonna be the captain of one of these because he looks a little bit confused to me.

  • @636555530 Wouldn't you be if your learning something new? If he was, he's get to grips with it.

  • he is the one getting trained so he will be the first officer on a real plane.

  • awesome

  • I to have it in my room !!! lol

  • simulator?? 0_o ... looks very real

  • It looks real and surely are exepsive :P

  • after the pilot says reduce thrust he puts his hands on the throttle thing and then the other pilot puts his hand on but the other pilot say's ahh meaning don't put your hand on there both pilots and flying the same plane there sopposed to work together idiot

  • No, it's not, as someone else already explained: "retard" is a reminder for the pilot flying to reduce the thrust lever to idle. Has nothing to do with reverse.

  • @danielc365 not really ;)

It means reduce thrust to idle

  • retard...lol

  • This pilot is better at flying than at driving... ;-)

  • Retard.. Retard Retard Retard Funny ^^

  • was the computer saying retard?

  • it means "thrust idle" in aviation "language" ;)

  • huh. thanks

  • The word "retard" is a reminder to pilots to bring the thrust levers to idle during the landing maneuver, known as the "flare," just prior to touchdown. If the autothrottles are engaged, which they are most of the time on highly-automated aircraft such as the Airbus, the thrust will go to idle on its own just prior to touchdown on landing.

  • @Bridger1555 : Not in the airbus. In Airbus airplanes, the pilot has to manually bring the throttle to idle.

  • I wonder what kind of a monster gaming pc powers this

  • A $38,000,000.00 Rig.

Shipping, installment and maintenance not included.

Mind as well, that this rig will also keep your energy supplier happy.

  • Unless you happen to own a nuclear power plant at your garage... :D

Anyway, I'd buy two of these... LAN gaming would be cool- :D

  • 38M? How much does a real A380 cost?

  • Around 350M, Aircraft Crew not included.
