Hey im getting a crestie in a couple days and im just wondering what kind of plants and vines and all that stuff and what kind of bedding? Also shpuld i get a fogger or a humidifier
crested geckos are generally around $50 and i have 3 leopard geckos, 2 beardies, and 2 cresties and crested geckos are definitely the easiest to care for and i think very good pets
nice setup, i am getting crested gecko (s) soon and my setup isn't anywhere near as cool as yours. can someone look at my vid. i was using a difrent acount at that time so look up crested gecko setup and then click filter and click uploaded this month and find the one by jag826
I know this is a little late now (over a year lol) but you can sex them using a jewelers loupe from about 10-15g. Males have a series of pores which are visible with a jewelers loupe.
hi,i got a crested gecko i have had it for about 2 months and now i am ready for another one i think the one i have now is a female im unsure but could i get a male without them mating well only some times cos it would be nice to have hatchlings lolz is there like a season when they mate and if the one i have now is a male and i get a male will they fight plz reply
dude the fogger is super cool!! I'm going to get a gecko soon but I'm still debating whether I should get a crescent gecko or leopard gecko. Both are cool but it will be my first reptile so i want to make sure i take care of it correctly. How much was the fogger and the cage you have and where did you get it, just in case if I decide on a crescent gecko i can make him a cool set up like yours.
It's Crested Gecko, not "Crescent" gecko by the way.
But Crested Geckos are super easy to take care of, and are a lot of fun to watch.
Leopard geckos are almost as easy to take care of, they're just not as much fun.
Repti foggers and the Exo Terra tanks, are fairly expensive. Though you can make an awesome looking enclosure with other tanks as well. ....it just depends on your decorating skills :P
this is why you always hold them before you buy them :P
i have two, ones real nice, other is jumpy and lazy as heck, he hides on the ground and sleeps ALL day and wont move if you dont make him lol
they are in a 50g terrarium (20L, 20W, 36H, inches) no particular brand. i have a male and a female the male is almost 7in and the female is about 6-6 1/2 inches
i have one stick on glass large zoo med fake plant, a large bend-a-vine, a food bowl, a water bowl, and a big but short real plant
Nice set up! @ MrGooseMuffin this is a 12 by 12 by 18 inch tall terrarium it is a minimum for only one subadult-adult crested gecko i did the math and this terrarium came out to be 11.2 gallons the absolute minumum for a single adult crested is 10 gallons but a larger tank is appreciated! Good Luck!
hey is this a 12x12x18 exoterra? cause im getting one and wondering if one crestie could fit it for there whole life? and ill buy a smaller plastic one for when hes a baby.
@MrGooseMuffin Zoo Med 12x12x18 and it was about half the price of Exo Terra. It's GREAT. The only difference is that there is only 1 door instead of the double swing doors. I actually prefer the single door. Just giving you the option.
Dude love the setup! But a request from me would be is, how did you hook up the zoo med fogger to the exo terra terrauim? could you at least make a video explaining how?
How did you get the tube to start releasing fog at the bottom of the tank? all the other vids have the tube just going into the top and it looks really dumb... yours however looks very nice and natural
Sorry but just because many people copy&paste data from financially interested groups, doesn't make it right.
Its petshops and alike who will tell you that such a small tank is enough for one crestedgecko. The size of your tank would be ok e.g. for Lygodactylus.
Its only for short periods to separate one crested gecko out of a group, when this is acceptable. Even the PT2612/2614 are doubtable because they are still only 24" high, at least they would be wider then yours.
@Careoran Sorry, but many breeders and trusted and knolagle people say that a 18x18x24 is a good sized tank for a crested gecko. What do you think would be an appropriate size? I know that a bigger tank would be better, and smaller tanks are only really good for juvenile cresties, but I havn't read on any websites, or heard from anyone that keeps ONE crested gecko in a larger habitat. I would like to get mine a larger tank when he gets older, but I don't know.
Brilliant set up and the fogger is brilliant. How do you get them to go through into viv though as there is no holes on thr top mesh? Are they easy to set up?
Hey i love your videos. All 2 of them. LOL. I have a female crested and would love to make the habitat look more natural because I am using paper towel one live plant and vines and some fake plants. I would like to know what is on the bottom. Eco earth? Also how are you keeping the plants alive?
Wow, that fogger's pretty cool. Though I'd like it better if the fog dissipated faster, so that it only collected on the ground, rather than coming up nearly halfway to the top. Your gecko is cute. =)

casteveanerpool 11 months ago
@casteveanerpool yes thats what i have and hes fine :)
aaronm33197 10 months ago
@casteveanerpool no, they need a tall tank. a twenty gallon high yes, but a normal 20 no.
CrestedBoa 10 months ago
@CrestedBoa 20 high? So, a normal 20 gallon tank then. :P
ArcboundPhyrexian 10 months ago
@ArcboundPhyrexian lol there are 20 gallons and there are 20 gallon talls or highs meaning its not as long as a normal 20 but its taller.
CrestedBoa 10 months ago
@CrestedBoa You've got it backwards. Lol. A "regular" 20 gallon is a 20 high. The other "standard" 20 gallon tank is a 20 long which is 30"x12"x12".
