  • I don't want to be annoying, but can you please please please please please please please please please please get some sodium and throw it in water? and make video about it?

  • Is this just gallium or is there something else in it?

  • @membola Gallium/Indium/Tin alloy

    (from the description)

  • Still probably try and avoid touching it :D

  • go and spend the penny

  • omg that match part was awesome lol

  • If you lived in a hut at someplace really hot gallium would be liquid at room tempature

  • gallium is NOT liquid at room temperature. it melts in hot water! dimwit

  • @Ilovelazers Melt's at 100F. And it's an alloy of 2 other metals..

  • welcome to the cancer

  • Now i get what was evil robot made from in Terminator 2.

  • Gallium, unfortunately, turns into a brick in colder climates.

  • buy a bunch of sodium and throw it in water. I bet you could make a great video about that!

  • @MasterXxploder I actually have a bunch of videos of sodium. When I was 14 or so I acquired 800 pounds of sodium and made a bunch of videos with it. The video quality isn't great though so I haven't posted them.

  • @styropyro 800lbs HOW?!?!

  • @styropyro YOU ACQUIRED 800! POUNDS OF SODIUM JUST A QUESTION WHAT THE HELL MAN!

  • @styropyro can you post them anyways for your subscribers?

  • @styropyro 800 pounds? Do you live near a salt flat?

  • @styropyro How does a 14 year old get 800 pounds of sodium...

  • @Wilson1592 You make it dumbo...

  • go to ebay and get some gallium

  • where I can buy Galinstan?

  • what happens when you pass a current threw it?

  • were can i get sum? how much

  • So thats how Mirrors are maide, it always confuses me that xD

  • @BassLoverDude no its not.. its liquid at room temperature it would melt off

  • @aahrg1234567890 Right.....confused still

  • look likes tin

  • is gallium toxic?

  • @dunlrock nope

  • thumbs up if u never heard a thing such as Galinstan

  • The best part is lighting up the match with a laser!

  • put that in a microwave lol jks

  • Galinstan reacts with dlithium crystals preventing them from regulating warp fields. FYI.

  • It is not expensive it is $7.00 for an ounce

  • when I read the title, i read Liquid Metal Trivium Atreyu and Godsmack

  • WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT....there a mirrors with this stuff on the back?? hmmm...could I maybe scrape it OFF and play with it or is it NOT on mirrors and you just said that :c

  • 0:40 WOAAAAAAAH :D

  • the reason i like your AWESOME videos is cuz u dun talk

  • @hoblywobly finally someone who doesn't complain that I don't talk ha ha

  • @styropyro ppl like it when u dont talk. if you know what AMRS or that feeling that u get when for feel tingly and relaxed thats why ppl like that. i am one of those ppl. i like you videos

  • @styropyro i agree i think it best when person does not talk :)

  • Damn! That unicorn must of eaten and MickyD's every day!

  • looks like solder

  • Great video

  • bro im pretty sure that liguid metal mercury

  • @yomammalockin funny guy ^_^

  • how much did that drop cost you?

  • so, if it's not toxic, can you eat it?

  • it becomes a true liquid at around 85 F

  • 7 persons think the earth isnot round

  • novel metal alloys look it up its the future

  • @TheAngryBeans: No. The metal is chemically similar to Iron, but Iron is the preferred metal so it's used in preference to Gallium instead. However, even though it's non-toxic, it is mostly inert and would be about as sensible to drink as candle wax or beach sand. It could still cause severe intestinal upset.

  • 0:41 omg! amazing

  • why would you poke and prod it with a qtip? wouldn't you lose some of the alloy that way? instead using say, a glass rod perhaps?

  • Comment removed

  • So I can play with it and put it in my mouth????? yay!!

  • lol

    sounds like someone having S3X

    @ 0:32

  • where can i get such components at?

  • how much does galinstan cost?

  • Wat the hell how did the lazer burn the thing what is that thing anyways

  • ur vid sucks it takes soo long to load

  • @dabomb676 It's your slow computer that sucks. I have no problem at all.

  • @dabomb676 Your internet sucks, the video started straight away when I click the videos then the lighter light-red bar bit was loaded in about 10 secs so I can view all of it in real-time.

Haha my internet is so cheap as well (it's actually FREE) so I don't se any problem you loading it, just try refreshing the page...

  • its look like a hot tin/lead alloy used in electronic's soldering...

  • gallium melts in your mouth yes? yummy. does it kill you if it does? probably so but still...

MMMM THE METAL THAT MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH!

  • i love your laser

  • Awesome

  • i want buy it

    where to buy real mercury?

  • @mevtabmer mercury ih hightly poisonus

  • can it replace mercury in florescent tube lamps of CFLs?

  • @TheNuclearWatermelon nope, two entirely different concepts. Its all about the spectra they produce, not their melting point.

  • @TheNuclearWatermelon it in steam

    i need liquid metal

  • toxic?

  • A new toy!

  • That alloy looks like the alloy guy from the movie Terminators Judgement Day

  • whats the freezing point?

  • @jcmorse563 it frizes ih household fridge

  • Galinstan is used in new fever thermometers made by Geratherm. The glass on the inside is coated with a layer of gallium oxide a few microns thick to keep the alloy from wetting the glass.

  • Hg + Sn = what you have got

  • where did you get the LAZER!!!

  • What laser was that?

  • where'd u get the laser? lol

  • wow

  • wow

  • awsome

  • Does the liquid indium you get from pharmacies work?

  • @randomlugia They don't sell indium metal at pharmacies. Perhaps you are talking about solution salt of indium.

  • @vmelkon Oops I'm thinking iodine.

  • Nice science video.

Never heat mercury !! It will boil into mercury gas wich is extremely poisonus!!

  • @elcochipit

    its not mercury o_o

  • kinda looks like soder

  • I heard that if you heat mercury up hot enough it turns into a powder is this true?

  • No it will turn into a gas that is extremely toxic

  • @localboyKealii

It turns into gas, and it is very poisonous. There's no conventional over that will heat mercury enough for it to become gaseous though.

  • where u find it?

  • where did u get ur galinstan from?

  • @Ninjaz27

I made it from the component elements I bought off of a forum Group Buy.

  • tié heureux ?

  • sorry..no point to my last comment..

gallinstan might be worth giving a try..gotta see where i can find it

  • It is much cheaper to just buy gallium, Indium, and Tin separately and just mixing them than to buy gallinstan.

  • mercury is my FAVORITEE element..always has for years now i collect it out of old stats and blood pressure moniters

  • Hey, What Video Editing program do you use for the subtitles?

  • i came @ laser reflection

awesome vid i remember playing wif mercury in my hand as a kid...

    -hero

  • metallic goo... Looks fun haha

  • wow fantastic material...

  • I'd rather stick to just plain gallium, melting it in your hand is fun! :D

  • Same here, it takes forever to melt in the hand though.

  • rub it!

  • lol how much would let's say....a quart of this stuff cost?

  • LOL; you used the battery holder from DX!

    Nice stuff, man :)

  • I'm surprised somebody noticed!

  • Nice video! Have you used this for FS mirrors for your lasers?

    See you at LPF :)

  • Not yet, but I'll give it a try sometime.

  • It is easy to tell it isn't mercury because of how it sticks to stuff and the fact that it has a skin, mercury won't stick to anything and forms compact little beads, very cool video.

  • he only said first glance it isnt easy to tell

  • Yeah I said first glance, after messing with it is pretty obvious. Mercury is more fun IMO but it is too toxic to just have sitting around.

  • Yes, I agree, that stiff is pretty sketchy, first glance there is quite a similarity. But cool video, five stars.

  • how much does it cost?

  • Depends how much you buy, I bought this in small quantities where the gallium was $2.50 a gram and the Indium was $1 a gram. If you look around and buy bigger amounts you can get it for a decent amount cheaper.

  • must... resist... urge to fake mercury spill at school...

  • This was one of your best videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Evilmonkey1453

  • Thanks! I'm planning on adding some more stuff like this in the future to broaden my topics of videos so they aren't just about lasers.

  • i think we can tell who posted the coment without you saying your name at the end...

  • Nice! This also works with just the gallium and indium, easily stays liquid at room temperature.

  • The reason why I have this is because I accidentally mixed my gallium and indium, giving me a gallium/indium alloy that melted at around 75ºF. The gallium was trashed anyway so I added some more indium, and them some tin because it is cheap..

  • nice vid

  • great vid but can u talk in them? LOL

  • I guess it's just my style to talk in text...lol.

  • dude thats AWSOME

  • awesome and gratz on 2000 subs...and im one of em too :D

  • I'm glad you like my videos!
