@corvettecentral I am about to purchase Centric's SportStop Performance Cross Drilled and Slotted Disc Brake Rotors on all four corners of my LHS. I was wondering if the cracking would apply to these also. I drive like Miss Daisy, although I am Mr. Daisy in his 30's. My style is seat all the way up, right lane only except when passing, cruise control set at 5 to 9 miles p/hr under the speed limit, no music, all windows up and 2 to 3 vehicles behind forward vehicle. Goal: better stopping power
I decided to upgrade my front brake system after warping my factory front right rotor on my WRX. So I got the DBA 5000 2-piece slotted rotors front left & right , StopTech stainless steel brake lines, Motul 600 DOT 4 Brake fluid. I do no track racing, or racing of any kind. I just like driving those roads less traveled. And it seems even thes rotors have let me down. I have warped another front right side rotor. I just hope I can get slotted rotors turned.
@JosephZDycus Joseph, it is more likely there is an issue with your front hub. You stated that the original rotor suffered problems and now your DBA 5000 rotor. What you refer to as warping we would refer to as DTV (Disc Thickness Variation).
@JosephZDycus This is normally caused from run-out in the mounting surface. This can be surface rust, worn or loose bearings or kerb damage.Check out our video on fitting brake rotors. Whilst the example used is not a WRX the issues and the care required when fitting new rotors are the same. Thanks DBA John
@dbabrakes I made the same preparetions as in your video. There has been no kerb damage, and the vehicle had only 22,380 miles on it when I upgraded. Maybe I just need to down shift more on the down hill curves, I just dont know.

Drilled rotors will always crack if pushed hard.
If you must have drilled go for cryogenically treated or even better cast with holes like all the Porsche rotors.
I speak from experience, they only look pretty for a couple of months.
