Don't think so... a Prelude is just a Prelude - Honda's experimental car between '78 and 2001. The best FF cars ever made were based on '87-2000 Civics, such as '89-2001 Integra, '92-97 del Sol, and even the '96-2001 CR-V (which wasn't half bad for a unibody compact SUV, 2nd best in the world after Lada Niva).

MID-SIZED? Since when? Civics were always sub-compact cars up until 2001 when it became a compact car. And when did a Prelude became a sports car? All that's "sporty" about it, is the fact, that it's a coupe, and a few experimental gizmos thrown in the mix, heavier and bigger than both Civic, and the Integra.

Jeez, I can't even remember if I ever saw a Prelude as a race car, but I've seen plenty of Civics, from the One Make series, to Touring Car Championships around the globe.

@apexdna i see you're more uneducated than i thought. the prelude was Honda's premier sports coupe for years, it was well known for its handling from the 2nd generation on up and in 1997 won the best handling car under $30k according to Car&Driver magazine (google it). I dont know a single Civic that has won that award...ever. You have to modify the crap out of a Civic to make it fast, a Prelude just is... deal with it

From Best Motoring videos in Japan to Sport Compact Car magazines in US, the Civic-based chassis is widely regarded as the best-handling FF car to date. In 20 or so years nobody will remember the Prelude (other than diehards), but the Civic-based chassis will live on as the "hot rod" of this generation.
