it's pretty difficult to get into any department in the music school. if you have a strong portfolio, that would definitely help. one of my roommates didn't get in initially and took recording classes for a year, and still didn't get in. so its definitely not a piece of cake

Guitar, but apparently my high school grades deterred me. :( It's fine because Info has been great, and I've learned so much on guitar that I don't feel like I've missed anything by not attending Jacobs.

hmm i got accepted into the guitar program 4 years ago. the guitar chair accepts just about anyone who applies regardless of level of experience. its sort of a strip everything and teach from the beginning approach. but yeah i guess grades could be a factor. I know I've learned a lot about guitar playing and music in general from Jacobs, but I guess different strokes for different folks
