@spicedhamlsh i have a cold air intake on my 01 cherokee also, and ill probably go with the 70 series thanks to this video, its not too loud and not raspy like the series 40 and 44.
@07RedRider400 I ordered it through a muffler shop and only know that it is the Flowmaster 70. It looks to me like the "Big Block 2" is the only 70 series they make, but I'm not an expert.
@obxjeepguy In my 3 years with the Flowmaster 70 on my 4.0 ZJ, it has done just that. It's got a little bit of a growl when you goose it from a stop, but it is pleasant and not obnoxious. It's just enough so that when you have the windows down you can hear it but when the windows are closed it sounds pretty much stock.
@lolamcute They do pretty well in deep soft snow, but they are AWFUL on compact snow or ice because they are not sipped. Consider the BFG All Terrain for better winter weather performance.
@cyberpine Not a BIG difference from stock, but you can tell that it is a little more free flowing and sounds a lot better. I was between the 50 and 70 but went with the 70 because I did want to wake the neighbors every time I started it up. It is deff louder than stock, but not a tremendous amount. I have not experienced any drone at speed.
hello i have a 98 4.0 zj i was think about doing the lift 2in or 3in but what gears do i have to change i keep on hearing about ? please let me know im not going to go offroad but im in nyc its like driving off road lol and lots of snow but anyway please let me know hope to hear from you guys soon later 1
@lolamcute You don't have to change out any gears. When you put bigger tires on, changing the ring and pinion gear inside the differential helps keep your vehicle geared correctly. With a 2-3" lift and 31-32 inch tires you don't have to regear-- but the vehicle feels a lot slower if you don't.
@spicedhamlsh in both differential or just the back and what do i tell the guy what i want in my differential 1 size bigger gear? and how much is that you think i wanted to put 235 75 15 on or can i put 1 size up and what would that be are you in nyc or a 1,000 miles away lol hope to hear from you soon later 1
hello its me again long time no hear i was wondering what type of head and fog lights do u have are there factory or after market hit me back asap i need to get some
you spent money on your ZJ to get it to sound like this? mine sounds exactly like this and all I had to do was let the stock exaust rust out and I got the same result lol.
Hey fokes go and check out my video of my 2000 chevy z71 1500 with flowmaster 70 series. rate leave a comment. i just bought these flowmaster 70 series and put them on myself i love them they have the perfect sound go check it out, just click on my username and the video is posted on my channel.
@spicedhamlsh I have a '97 zj with the 4.0l and i've been looking around at exausts, this one sounds pretty good. with the 31's before the lift, minor rubbing is kind of an understatement, they dont rub with everyday driving, but any amount of flex, even about a quarter inch of flex they rub like crazy then.
@richardman1992 I ran 31's on my zj with minor trimming of the front bumper, but its super easy to put in 3.5" spacers all the way around, my stock shocks don't even top out.
yes. i have a 2001 grand cherokee limited. and was wondering if you put those tires on the stock rim. and if so can i get the full tire demension? thanks
how come on the flowmaster website, it says they dont make anything for this jeep. can i just take like any old flowmaster that i find that will fit and slap it on? i really want a 44
you need lower gears if your into speed and offroad which it seems like you are. it seems like a slugg to get started with those tires, i had a buddy that swiched to 4.10s on his same jeep and it made all the difference in the world with 33s. ide say he would win a race against you and all he has is, a kn drop in replacement filter, gears, and exhaust.
the ZJ really is a slug. I don't want to drop any money into regearing the D35. It has pleanty of grunt in 4LO off road and is just pretty slugish on the road.
@spicedhamlsh yea i got this same exact jeep, same year and white too, bone stock and it is pretty slow to get goin on street but it has all the power it needs to pull that 3,000 lb body around ofroad
hello, I would like to have the exact configuration can u tell me what u put on your jeep? like just the muffler w/ stock cat or u bought the kit etc. any answer is appreciated thank's. ps I have the same vehicle!!
I'm digging the sound and have been thinking about getting the same muffler for my Cherokee. Now that you've had it on your ZJ for a few months, what do you think of it as far as sound, performance, mileage, ect? I was also wondering if you remember what the part number was of that muffler. Thanks for taking teh time to read this!
Seems to be holding up fine. Sounds the same. No leaks. I like how it has a little rumble to it but you can't hear me from a mile away. I like to stay a bit low key with my exhaust.
BTW did u put in just the muffler or did u make any other changes?

@07RedRider400 Thanks for the compliment. It is just the muffler- although I have a K&N intake too.

this is the best exhaust note video ive seen by far, nice

I am looking for a QUIET free flowing exhaust. I know that is a contradiction. I have been considering this muffler for my 4.0 ZJ.
I want it to be quiet INside the Jeep. I could give a damn about what it sounds like outside.

Thanks for doing this video with the different positions.
It helped me decide between the 50 and the 70.
i think im going with the 70, nice low tone without being too loud. i have an XJ country with a 4.0 and the exhaust is just too silent.
