  • cool, hey i ended up getting a 2001 VX Commodore V6 supercharged, last of the VX series its pretty sick, im intending to JDM mod it tho, because nobody's ever done that before... I've already ordered a pod filter and also a 4" exhaust N1 style exhaust.

  • @HomasterX id say the sv6 supercharged would have better acceleration, but ss would get a better top speed, and the sound of a 8 is just great. but then the supercharge whistle is good too, just my opinion im not some absolute pro at cars

  • Have to laugh at these pissing contest. Xr6T and SS are both great cars and some of the best value for money in the world. I now drive a 195kW V6 Calais V and it has more than enough power for what you need. Who really cares if one car is 0.1 of a second faster to 100. Does that really mean much????

  • @vxclubsport569 FG XR6T and G6ET are actually over half a second faster to 100, and will do 80-120 km/h in 3.1 seconds (same as an E90 M3) due to the huge overboosted 586NM torque being available over a 2750 rpm range instead of 530NM at a single point in the V8 rev range. However, both are very nice cars for a relatively low price. Get the Ford I6T for the speed, or the GM V8 for the sound, all up to personal preference.

  • Holden need to release a turbo like the fg range otherwise its game over, the fg f6 is ridiculously quick ! the hsv 7L w427 goes only 0.2 sec faster then the fg f6 and the pricee difference is about 80 grand , Holden def need a turbo and fast

Fact is GT-R's are faster even the older ones do 4.5s 0-100.....Having problems with traction control slowing you down? Answer...get four wheel drive!

  • You also have to take into account that the holden uses an over glorified truck transmission. As for the W427? Just can't justify the $70k price difference over the GTS. And niether could many others going by the fact HSV couldn't sell half of them...

The cost of the 7.0L in a crate would be $35 - $40K easy and not too mention there are less HSV 7.0L's then there are Corvettes - think about it. As for a truck transmission - at least it's strong. Lamborghini built tractors before they produced a high performance car so your point is a little lost like your knowledge on cars. What you can justify is that you cannot afford anything worthwhile.

  • You cannot compare the new GTR or any GTR for that matter to the W427. The GTR is a pure sports car with iincredible technology and performance. The W427 is simply a commodore with a bigger engine and a few other minor improvements. Still a nice car however

    0-100 in 5.4 seconds from factory. This is a NON turbo V6.

  • SS manuals have been known to run 0-100 in 5.5 secs as per holden's "on paper" claim.. I myself have an FG XR6T, so I wouldn't know, but I do know my XR6T runs 0-100 in ~5 seconds from factory.

    370GT skyline sedan, yeah? Available in japan only atm, so not much info I can find on it. Fabulous it can run a 5second speed for a NA 6 cylinder, unfortunately, it's approximately double the price of the Holden Commodore SS..

    So for that price, you'd find even a faster car than the 370GT. *shrugs*

  • The SS is very restricted in standard form. What I mean is it doesn't breathe enough thru standard headers and exhaust exactly like your FG. If you put a cold air intake, 3 inch exhaust, mafless tune you will achieve 320Kw. From there if you put a cam and and race ported heads in the think you'll get 420Kw - 850Nm and 0 - 100km in 4.0 sec. It will cost just under $10,000; if you want more then you bolt on a Harrop 2300 SC and you'll get over 700Kw easy.

    any info on what i should do first on my car? i'm thinking a quad exhaust system definitely for look, with it going straight from cat back for a louder note.

I own a Speed Triple that has a full three into one exhaust with a delete cat and the baffle pulled out (my Hayabusa is a different story). it's a lot less restricted, but is worthy of a defect should Mr Plod want to....

  • it im not mistaken is this the new skyline that they just brought out and if it is and u wanted to have a street race u aint going any speed higher than 110km because the on board computer in that car restricts it on public roads to bad for u but i do know that that 370GT can only have the stock rims unless u make them custom to the same standard ass the stock ones with the little nubs inside the rim
