Great points. I loved the part where Doris couldn't find anything in the Bible showing that Jesus and Satan were brothers. This, along with many other LDS doctines, cannot be found anywhere within the pages of Gods word. Joseph Smith Jr. was truly an insideous and wicked con man who used the name of God to acquire money, power and women. I wonder if he thinks it was worth it now?

Personally I think her message is up lifting and she is just stating true facts on the history of the LDS. Some would argue of her being a lair, but why would she be a lair if she has found that the information that was fed to the LDS is nothing but lies. The moron bible is basically a altered bible. It's stripped of anything that is true or moral. I hope your eyes will be opened to the true facts, that Jesus has provided, not what men have provided. Through Christ we will find the truth alone

@LDStothecore: What exactly is she saying about D&C 132 that is a lie? And when has she ever mocked anyone? Stating a contrary opinion or disagreeing is NOT mockery. If it is, then aren't you doing the exact same thing by lobbing insults? As for D&C 132, surely you're not trying to suggest that it is not about polygamy...those who make this claim are either lying themselves, or woefully uninformed.

@sacredgroves I have seen her laugh at callers, which is a form of mocking. Also, if you read D&D 132 closely, you will see that, although it talks about plural marriage, it does not say it is necessary for exaltation. Doris continues to continue this lie even after being corrected.

If someone says something funny or ridiculous, the natural response is laughter. Are you saying you never respond that way? D&C as well as other sources, say that failure to live polygamy results in damnation, which historically is understood as being a failure to achieve exaltation.

@mowglisj It's obvious where her motives lie. I do not seek to be offended. Show me what verse in D&C 132 states that those that do not live plural marriage are damned. Also, have you ever been LDS?  If so, what were the circumstances behind your leaving?

@LDStothecore: I know her personally, and I know her motive is to point people to biblical truth, and to Jesus Christ. That is a loving motive, not a hateful one. As for where in the D&C, try verse 4 for starters, it spells it out clearly. If you don't abide the principle, you are damned. Brigham Young and others taught the same thing. I was never LDS, and have nothing against the LDS people at all. I care about them! But the teachings of Mormonism aren't biblical, and that concerns me.

@mowglisj The new and everlasting covenant is not plural marriage. If you like I can give you more on this, if you are willing to listen and read without an agenda. Also, the heading includes this, "relating to the new and everlasting covenant, including the eternity of the marriage covenant, as also plurality of wives." This clearly separates the covenant, marriage, and plural marriage.

@LDStothecore: I am aware that the most recent interpretations of 132 given by LDS church leadership do redefine celestial marriage as simply temple marriage; however, if you look at the earliest teachings and take 132 in its historical context, it is undeniable that the "new and everlasting covenant" WAS polygamy, and of course, this is what the fundamentalist Mormons continue to believe and teach. My only agenda (which I assume is yours, too) is truth. I encourage you to check the history!

@LDStothecore: I'm not trying to argue in favor of polygamy, but just that it was clearly taught as the means to exaltation in early Mormonism, that's all. But the Bible says that faith in Jesus alone is what saves us. He is the source of Truth. As for Doris' supposed rudeness, when your first comment is "This woman is a liar!!" could that not be constituted as rudeness? Does that make your motives impure? Be careful when painting others with the hypocrisy brush.

As for my motives, I am concerned that she and other anti-Mormons are leading people away from Christ. I never said I don't make mistakes, but when it comes to the Gospel, there is no question that it is true.

If she said that Joseph Smith lied, it's because there is verifiable historical data that supports that (including LDS sources). You say she lied about D&C 132, but the fact of the matter is, she hasn't. She may say things that conflict with your particular beliefs, but she hasn't said anything that isn't historically, verifiably true. I believe your intentions are noble, but please do your research on Mormon history!

What Doris is talking about the way the LDS scriptures WERE interpreted by early LDS leaders. Your refusal to believe or acknowledge or look into it doesn't make it any less true. Doris does what she does so that people will throw themselves on the mercy of Jesus, which is the only hope of salvation that ANY of us has on the day of judgment, since we all deserve it, because we are all sinners. That's why Jesus came--to pay the price! We rejoice in that, and want to share it with others!

If you choose to close your eyes and cover your ears and just cry out "lies, lies, lies!" in order to avoid examining those claims on their own merits, while that makes me sad, there really isn't anything else to be said.
