  • we have to take notes on how the myths of the four great adventures in Edith Hamilton's Mythology, of which the tale of daedalus and icarus is one, are represented in the outside world. i got music and good GOD out of all the songs ive heard tonight this is those were the most relevant ones ive ever heard. great video too, im using that awesome picture at 2:45 for the video were doing on it.

  • Ahhh this song is ear sex!!!

  • 5 people found themselves in the sea

  • I'm always amazed at how Thrice's music is so soothing yet has so much energy at the same time.

  • definitely not the official video.

  • i forgot how good this song was. thrice makes such fucking good music.

  • i forgot how good this song was. thrice makes such fucking good music.

  • im speechless

  • THIS is Music - Not that Blah blah blah crap

  • beautiful song. absoluetly wonderful.

Sad all in it's own right

  • Daedalus is the father and Icarus is the son.

This song is the perspective of Daedalus and

The Melting point of Wax from their ablum The Artist in the Ambulance is the perspective of Icarus.

Both amazing songs. I suggest you listen to them both, back to back. Thrice has very talented artists who actually put hard work into their music.

  • @OMGitsDaved As the crow flies has something to do with this topic too, am I right?

  • Is this official or fanmade?

    Looks fanmade.

  • fan made dude

  • @Onderonable stupid question is stupid

  • @beccaaa346 Obnoxious cunt is obnoxious.

  • thrice is amazing, nothing else need to be said

  • Thrice have such a huge amount of talent, it's crazy. Their music is touching..

  • i heard somewhere that dustin is like really into greek mythology...

  • any kind of story telling he is. mostly the bible.

  • It's from Greek Mythology. Daedalus is the father of Icarus. He made wings using feathers and wax. He told his son not to fly too close to the sun or the wax would melt and the wings fell.

Eventually, while they were travelling with their wings, Icarus' wings melt and he died.

  • hah awesome reply

  • lol ur a dick

  • i cried when the song hit the last chorus the first time i heard it. its touching, these guys Are talent.

  • These guys make me cry all the time. You're not a fag. Their lyrics are phenomenal and the music matches. It's some of the greatest art out there. Ever.

  • lol@ 0:31 LOOK MA NO FEET

  • I think this song is just amazing! But where can i see the actual video?

  • im not sure that there is an actual video.

  • Thrice doesn't have a lot of actual music videos so i doubt this one has one.

  • good song

  • is this the official music video? cus its awesome, although it seems to portray icarus' point of view more than daedalus'

  • Nahh, I just spent a weekend editing it myself; Thanks though.

  • hey i was wondering where you got the drawing from at 1:21 in the video, I tried searching Google pictures of Daedalus and Icarus but couldn't find it.

  • @adrushpainz Daeldalus's point of view is actually in the song "The Melting Point of Wax" I guess Thrice likes the story :)

  • @Ackmar1 hmm i thought the melting point of wax was icarus, but both songs are amazing. thrice is such an underrated band

  • @adrushpainz Yeah, that's right. This one is Daedalus's and that one is Icarus. But yeah, love 'em both :)

  • Everything and anything Thrice does is brilliant.

  • such a powerful song... there lyrics are brilliant unlike most shitty songs that talk about nonsense

amazing what these guys can do. Most underrated band period.

  • I totally agree, I just saw them for the 2nd time @ bamboozle this weekend!!

  • seriously man. they need to win all the freakin grammys.

  • @Carlino22 Definately not the MOST underrated band, but definately underrated by far.

  • This is my favorite song from Thrice's newest album/s. Good video.

  • The picture at 2:45 is soooo awsome! Does anyone know where to find it? Great vid, and awsome song! Love Thrice!

  • I found it on google a looong looong time ago man just type (icarus flight failure)

  • Thanks dude! I love to draw things like that. I drew a picture of Icarus inspired by "Deadalus", and "Melting Point of Wax!"

  • Yea I also have one that was inspired by a line in a song which was "wings too premature to flutter"

And I looked at it a few days ago and without asking you'd think it would be icarus inpired.

I'm trying to touch it up to get it as a side piece.

  • actually, the part of the sea where Ikarus fell, is still called Ikario Pelagos -The Open Sea of Ikarus.

  • this story is on wikipedia

    its really interesting

i love how thrice puts it in place like this

    BRILLIANT!

  • its a greek myth...i'm glad you found it on wiki...

  • lol, someone call the fire department cause someone just got burned, nice one mcreegs

  • Lol I guess. I don't see how he 'burned' someone.

  • Yeah obviously. Wikipidia has everything. So of course we know it's a greek myth.

  • "My GOOOOOOOOOODDDDD!!!! Why is this happening to me?!"

This single line holds more emotion than most bands ever have.

  • my gods* again greek myth

  • Yea it really is.

  • this song is my fave song of all time its beautifull

  • thet was the most amazing thing ever. nice shots of clouds n everything, especially the siun in it. you should make your own films dude.

  • I broke my camera, I would be doing it still if it werent for that.

i haven't made anything in months.

  • though im sure alot of people have realized this to those that havnt the song is based on a legend/myth (the name itself is a reference) lookup the story of 'Icarus and Daedalus'. great song.

  • the funny thing is, i have been listening to thrice for about 4 years now, and it took me about 2 years of listening to them to realized that, thats where the song came from

(as well as 'the melting point of wax'

  • Yea the lyrics pretty much sum up the story.

  • "song that is too perfect for words"

"Your the only one who means anything to me. Steer clear of the sun or you'll find yourself in the sea."

This is as close to perfection as you can get. Wow.

  • sweet, good vid.

  • good stuff!

  • Tight, definatly good call showing me that lol

  • Preekeekee somoka weed smoka weed i though i told you to leave that shit its bad you lol

DOpe video tho i feel lazy now

  • super relaxing!
