@mqblues Thanks much appreciated, maybe the most interesting is the creation of improvised Music, the process that flows from one idea to the other,Vic.
@bluesont Thanks,I've done many (about 21) finger style scores (I could send you my tutorial if you want) those were more in demand then Jazz, but in the near future I'll be doing Jazz scores as well,Vic.
Thank you Victor..... I appreciate your rapid response. I have been searching for a clean version of Green Dolphin Street that is not too much over the top and flows smoothly. Your version is one of the best that I have heard and seen...... Love your chops. I am based out of the SF Bay Area.... You should be playing and giging over here....... Keep up the great work....... Tony
Victor, your version of Green Dolphin street is fantastic..... Love the way it flows... Love the soloing too.... How can I get a copy of your transcription... Is it available in GP5 format? ...... Im a fan... Tony
@jimnapier Jim I have about 20 finger style tunes ready for purchasing (not expensive) if you're interested I'll send you my Tabs-tutorial,excellent finger-style material neatly worked out in Guitarpro5.3,greets Vic.
@mr12note Wow thanks for checking me out in detail,I was starting to feel my older work was starting to fall into obscurity then suddenly a guy pops with all this Jazz-love in his Heart, really glad to meet you,Vic.
I got the sheet music from my RealBook series 5th edition and was searching this song on YT then stumbled upon you playing it.
I really like the way you play it.
And about your comment on people not willing to compensate, it's much more fun to find out how chords are build and which variants they have. Off course, when people want something that takes time and devotion compensation is a little thing to ask for.
Hi Pancake thanks for the visit and glad you're getting inspiration from my Vid. With Jazz and theory it's like you say about the variants etc, the compensation thing was more about my finger-style work, people think I find the arrangements somewhere on Internet and want them from me,but I'm making all those arrangements myself and people don't seem to realize how much work that is and still expect all Tabs and scores for free. when they put gas in their Car is it also for free? Greets Vic.
That was really awesome playing! Your voicing colors are great, and I love the way you flow lines through changes. I have band in the box and have been playing along to this same song. What's your process for getting these videos on youtube with such great quality??? I would love to share arrangements!
Thanks Michael, I've been busy with this stuff before the Inter-period. I make the background tracks in B.I.B. then record them on a midi-walkman (got to buy an Ipod) my guitar and rhythm signals are routed to a 4 channel mixer, mixed and routed to the audio-port of my Mac.I Started scoring my finger-style work in Guitarpro-5 because I had quite some demand, got kinda de-motivated doing this,it's lots of work and the YT audience expects everything for free and isn't willing to compensate,Vic.
Thanks Dorian, jamming with Scoffield was a great experience, man in that one session I remained humble and learned enough Stuff to chew on for years, greets Vic.
Once again, great playing Vic! Is there any song you dont play? haha
Couple of questions for you, whats the form supposed to be on this AABC? And also my guitar partner is wanting me to play a rhumba clave under the A section, but I thought I was just supposed to leave a lot of space and just act as a color, not a time keeper. Any thoughts?
Hi guitartoker, the form is correct as you mention. well the A-section is often played as a latin,so the rumba certainly is an option, here I've broken that rule by playing all in Swing(in Jazz all is possible) a samba syncopation keeping the root and fifth in the bass will work fine on the A-section too,if you want changing to swing on B and C section, greets Vic.
Hi Jeff, at the end I'm playing Bmi penta in fourths, I once heard Scoffield doing that and I found it a cool idea, you know I played with him at a workshop at the Sweelinck conservatory in the eighties, such a generous sweet person, that was a great experience, even got a compliment from him,Greets Vic.
Hi Jeff,I played Bminor pentatonic over C(ma7 #11),I love this Tool, this 5 tone scale includes the F# which is the raised 4(#11) in C major, lovely sound, greets Vic.
this is a superb interpretation, you play it masterfully. The chord melody and note choice in your improv are spot on. You are a real inspiration as i begin my journey into jazz playing. thanks a lot! Regards, Philip
Thanks gurney9, I'm glad that I can be of any help, the new generation must take over this beautiful Artform, that requires dedication also check out the lesson Vids on my channel, they're informative,Greets Vic.
Hi Bha.. interesting I don't recall using that one but might be interesting ,especially the dissonance that occurs between the C# and D in this voicing. Instead of using Cmaj7 here I use Cadd9(voicing: g d e c definitely gives a nice sound in this context, try it,greetings my friend,Vic.
Hi Jazzguitarmarc, you could look at it that way but actually I see it as a Cm7add9 (without root),your interpretation certainly isn't wrong, greets Vic.
Oh ok, by the way, your version of the tune isnt in Eb, its the first time i hear that version is it your choice or i did live under a rock these times not knowing that this version is popular
Hi Jazzguitarmarc, I know the original is Eb but I used to do this with vocalist who did it in C and somehow it remained a cool key for me,in Jazz we can play in whatever key we wish, once the other players are well informed, lol greets Vic.
WOW Victor, Now thats some professional stuff! You could get RICH in Monterey! I used to go to the jazz clubs there a lot when I was in the Army in Fort Ord Ca. Great mellow tone Bro!
Thanks,Jerry with Jazz it's the same as Blues you'll never get rich off this Stuff but it's my Karma to be a musician and I would certainly die if I had to play "Top-40" tunes, with totally no adventure and improvisation,Greets Vic.
Glad you listened Hans, man how I enjoyed your playing. You'll be surprised I just plug in this Old Ibanez GB-20 straight into my little Spirit(notepad) mixer(with good EQ possibilities) and Off I am. Live I use a little Mini-Brut Polytone,we'll keep in touch man. Wondering what else you got up your sleeve, greets Vic.
Amigo Brasilleiro,Carlos you're a real musician involved with what you do.I like that,no half heartedness,I listened to your beautifull Bass solo on Polka Dots and I don't forget what I hear, glad I've met you Soulbrother, glad you enjoyed and commented man, greets Vic.
Jo, man! Swinging along with pastors and dolphins on maj7, diminished chords and chromatic scales, you're doing once more extremely well. Fantastic job, Vic! ***** again.
Thanks Jogi, glad you liked this one,see that Pat isn't doing so much on the Tube lately,I think he's afraid becomming a screen Junky(like he himself mentioned) greets Victor.

Thanks I ofcourse would Jam with him(the Pastor) even talk about religion once he doesn't try to convey me because there I have to draw a borderline ,greets Victor.

Hopi Bon, Zeer Goed and Very well played, a tune I had quite some difficulties with on my sax still you move around and through those chords like easy it is. Nice sound coming from your guitar, Jazz still the finest music ever and really swings. Love your music man it keeps my spirit alive, greets John
Thanks dear Brother, always appreciate your tastefull comments. Indeed a fine Standard I love playing,Man I've got to say Music is my Doctor and as you say, keepin my Spirit Alive as well,I hope to become 110 years and hit all these guys with my improvisations,Jazz is such a "Devine Art form",take away all my money but don't take away my Art,greetings Vic.
Very glad you enjoyed Per and I'm delighted that you as a Classical trained musician appreciate the same "devotion" that we have in common. How much pleasure and warmth you have given me with your Art, hope we'll be inspiring eachother for a long time, greetings my friend, Victor.
Thanks Pop, glad you liked this, I bought this guitar in 19 81 before I started conservatory study in A'dam(Jazz),this GB 20 model isn't made anymore(clloctors Item) the smaller George Benson modell you still can buy(GB 10) I liked the big one,so I feel the notes ressonating in my(Jazz) guts, greets Vic.
Thanks, I wish everyone could do it then everyone would be in this great thing called"Music" and not involved in "Wars and crime" but "Art and Peace" just wishfull thinking from me,greets Vic.
Fantastic rendition. There was a chord change at 1:46 that really stood out to me and for some reason reminded me of Gene Harris on piano. Great timing, I hope to get there somewhere in the future. Right now my coordination is reminiscent of Cramer on Sienfeld.
Thanks for your great comment, I checked it out what it is I'm hitting the root of Cmaj7 with my pinky and going up with index from the (major) third chromaticly to the fifth, how is that explanation,I think I got this lick from Robben Ford the great (fusion) Blues man. I can imagine it works great on the piano too. thanks for being around,Victor.
Victor, what a beautiful piece! As always your playing is so smooth and effortless (in appearance, but very difficult to master without practice). Again your playing is such an inspiration. Thanks, Rich
Thanks Rich for your Heartwarming comment(I can't do without) without all you supportive listeners it would be lonely on the Tube. I'm not taking anything for granted, love you guys being around, most welcome man,Victor.
Comment from another fine guitarist, you're most welcome man, I'm really amazed of your fine, musicall, playing.I'll be back checkin out your other work, thank you,Victor.
Thanks Scott, you know Dolphins are very smart, there's a place in Curacao that disabled children can swim along with them and Miracles occur, they start to hold their spoons and eat by themselves, incredible the Impact of these animals, thanks Buddy, thanks for you always being around, greets Victor.
Thanks Man, you're all wonderfull people,my digital audience, and the brothers you mentioned, great players and also good friends of mine. You're right ,Jazz is serious Fun(contradiction) it demands a certain attitude in life and I think an interesting one, thanks for commenting,Victor.
Thanks Victor, check you out soon man, love your musicall voice like hell brother, till soon Victor(PS,wish I could speak Russian) greetings from Holland,Vic.
Thanks Fred, getting kinda cold here in Holland, doesn't matter, the Music makes me warm inside together with all the wonderfull Jazz friends here on the Tube, don't let me spoil your intension of playing this tune, you'll bring along your own wonderfull improvising Fred, and I'll be listening, Vic.
Thank you Gavin, glad you enjoyed, tried out some ideas that I got from "Pauldil" (great guitarist) He's a humble man but what a player he is. greetings Victor.
