  • This logo was very short-lived if it was used only during the 1st quarter of 1986.

  • What the hell?

  • its just the LORIMAR logo pasted on the telepictures logo

  • I just adore the bass @ 0.05, how it comes in...

    Lovely!

  • @phasicblu: Never have I seen this prototype Lorimar-Telepictures logo. From what I heard, it was used during reruns of "ThunderCats" before the "finished" L-T logo debuted.

  • Rankin Bass + Lorimar Telepictures

  • I never noticed this said Lorimar-Telepictures. Maybe it is because I was conctrated on taping the sound on my taperecorder. Maybe before this it just had Telepictures though.

  • I meant that I probably concentrated more on the tape player. We did not have a VCR yet. I noticed the logos before I got to audio tape them on casseett though. Thudercats is on DVD but now I can not find it. It is good the logos are here because of that. Also you do not have to pay money to see it.

  • Shit I should have completed my thought before I pushed the "Post Comment" button but I meant to say that I could upload the noisier version of this logo if I have the proper program in which to do it.

  • This is a rare one. The Rankin Bass logo is the one that came on after the Thundercats but I seem to remember a different Lorimar-Telepictures logo after that. This one is a little more tame than the one that came on after the Thundercats.

  • I can probably upload the noisier version of this logo to You Tube if I have the proper program in which to

  • I would have thought this logo to be much cooler, had the blue parallelograms CONTINUED to fly after they formed the word "Telepictures." Now that's something to think about.

  • This was used from January to March'86 as a filler logo until the actual L-T logo came out in March.

  • clg is amazing might i add

  • I like this logo much better,it's cool.The other logo's annoying

  • Wow, that brings me back. I remember in the early, early 1990's seeing that logo (or something similar) at the end of Rudolph's Shiny New Year and Frosty's Winter Wonderland on the Disney Channel. The only difference between that prototype and the actual one is that it didn't have the Lorimar logo. It just said Telepictures. It rocked. I don't see that on the ABC Family reruns these days. I wonder why that is? Anyways, is that the actual logo for Thundercats and Silverhawks? Is it?

  • Comment removed

  • I call it The Line-wirter Roller Coaster

  • I like this logo better than the fireworks, but I also love the old Rankin Bass logo from Rudolph and Frosty(Jazzy Music)

  • Rankin-Bass's logo is looks the same as The Bryce Company's.

  • This logo was played alot during the first season of thundercats, very retro and cool in my opinion.

  • shown after 'Thundercats' i believe

  • It is!

  • It Most certainly is not! They still used the telepictures logo, not this logo! and I bet the following shows used the normal Lorimar logo as well, like "Valerie" and "Dallas"!

  • I wonder if later episodes of "Thundercats" and "Silverhawks" has the more common colliding comets version of the Lorimar-Telepictures logo after the Rankin-Bass logo.

  • I was sold on that early LORIMAR-Telepictures Corporation Logo from January 1986. I would rate that following clip a 6 in my book. The following logo would have been more useful for the syndicated version of "Let's Make A Deal" in the 1985-1986 Season. Go Figure!!

  • Trumpet and Trombone.

  • I prefer the original Rankin-Bass logo better when it was done in all holiday specials, I don't like the 80's version of the logo. It was terrible, along with the early Lorimar-Telepictures logo. The same logo was later used at the end of "$1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime" with the stage in the background instead of pitch black along with the Line of Doom music which came afterwards.

  • When L-T introduced its "cables/fireworks" logo, I think that they cut from the stage to the regular logo background when the logo began.

  • I'd have to agree. I never really liked the 80's Rankin-Bass logo, due to the fact that it scared the hell out of me at the end of Thundercats and Silver Hawks.

  • The last great Rankin-Bass logo.

  • oh yeah, bringing back the lifestyles of television from the 1980s!! simply retronatic!!

  • I always tried to draw the line of doom logos but couldn't quite nail it.

  • kewl :)

  • Oh, yeah -

    I see there's no "®" here. (ouch)

  • Try this! The Rankin-Bass logo, and 2nd, the Embassy Communications logo!

  • I know this is complicated, but I'll try to make this more clear:

What I was asking was: Was the same 5-note fanfare in the Lorimar-Telepictures part of the logo heard in all Lorimar-Telepictures shows, or just the cartoons. Those 5 notes are similar to the 1st 5 notes of the Rankin-Bass part, so that's why I was asking.

  • I think that 5-note was from Telepictures before it merged with Lorimar, but I could be wrong.

  • It's The Early Lorimar-Telepictures Logo Demo The Real One Did Not Came Untill Later In 1986 This Is Probaly The 1985 Lorimar-Telepictures Logo

  • Yes. It's a mixed of the "Line of Doom" with the "Roller-Coaster" Telepictures logo.

  • im not sure i think this logo was only shown on rankin-bass lorimar cartoons, i could be wrong though.

  • Egads - and with the Rankin-Bass "animated Entertainment from" intro! Notice how the similar the music is in those 2 logos. Did they make it that way just for the cartoons, or was this music used in all Lorimar-Telepictures shows of that time?

  • There's 2 shows that i remember from Rankin-Bass and Lorimar-Telepictures. Silverhawks and Thundercats.
