  • @JenFrusciante Bram Stroker wrote Dracula and he was Irish

  • They should have this playing for people when they come off their plane

  • Just realised that that painting of the horse is actually there, in the terminal, in the area where it was shown, I KNEW I RECOGNISED IT!

  • im english this is nothing we have heathrow and manchester and glasgow airports

  • What a load of old bullshit, Total bloody nonsense and paddy spin! Example, Cornelius Van Drebbel a Dutch chap invented the submarine. And most of the workers on the transcontinental raliroad of America were Chinese. The blatant lies are breath taking! Just where dio teh Irish get off making untrue claims about their contribution to the world?

  • Makes you feel proud to be Irish when you see this.

  • Just who is this gorgeous man?:]

  • THE IRISH ARE BRILLIANT!! WOOHOO X

  • RTE keep remaking this ad. The direct parody was good but not sure what to make of this. At least it's positive.

  • The gene for skin that goes from 0 to sunburnt in 2.4 seconds!!!!!

  • Great advert!

  • Possibly my favorite ad, the clean crispness of the Red Cam with the cool well structured dialogue, the unbelievable and amazing editing. And of course the outstanding and flawless acting of David Murray. Simply beautiful

  • Not to mention the 'Beaufort Scale and the Submarine' BEST AD EVER!

  • And the Irish sense of humour "The gene for skin that goes from naught to sunburned in 2.5 seconds" Wonderful.

  • Only thing I don't like in this - and it's minor because it has an excellent feel good factor especially in such shit times: he forgot to mention that the pneumatic tyre was invented here also by Dunlop.

  • Love this ad but if i had one minor quibble it would be that the Irish giving the world the submarine is a slight overstatement. Other then that, you gotta love it.

  • If they had stopped talking after he said 'we have reached the world from here'. And just let the camera show the terminal. It would have made a far nicer advert. Letting oneself take in the Marvelous achievement that the Irish have accomplished

  • Kept waiting for Batman to sneak up behind him.

  • David Murray is my cousin :) Very proud of him, fantastic Advert!

  • the same thing happened to me when i entered the new terminal, a camera crew followed me around

  • LOVE THIS ADVERT :D Cant waitr to see the inside of it :)

  • Fab. As an Irish woman living abroad it sends a shiver down my spine. good work DAA :)

  • this add gives me chills love it!

  • i havent flow in years and this add makes me so eager to

  • thats a nice wee ad, makes ya think we're a good wee country hey :)

  • Can't wait to get my degree and leave this god forsaken country through Terminal 2 in the coming years. Shame, I imagined myself actually beginning a career in Ireland. Oh well, I'll come back sometime, I guess.

  • He forgot George Boole of Boolean logic, where would computers be without it?

  • A beautifully shot commercial. However the basic premise of how great Ireland and the Irish are, is particularly bad timing I feel. His Celtic swagger makes me slightly embarrassed now...

  • love the ad, love the actor, and love the fact that he is my nephew and so proud to be irish.

  • this is my handsome nephew david murray and i agree this is a brilliant ad, he has been described as a cross between clive owen and alan rickman, he has such a distinctive voice and he is very funny in real life. lets hope we see much more of him in the future. it makes me so proud to be irish xxxxx

  • I hate this ad.Here is an actor bragging about how great we are!Do you not think its a little delusional, embarrasing and egotistical?

  • He didn't mention guinness u2 or the riverdance

  • @TransformingDublin you are bending the facts there. DAA is a state owned entity.

  • @chriswickstead Not at all Chris. DAA is owned by the state. But it is not funded by the state. It operates in a commercial fashion and receives no state funding. All of its investments are funded by borrowings and through commercial income and aeronautical charges. DAA is a contributor to the state - paying its shareholder more than €500m in dividends over the past 30 years.

  • Thank christ they used someone different than the normal couple of "famous" people who have taken over radio and television in Ireland the last few years.

  • Amazing monologue! Brings a tear to the eye!

  • So who is the actor ?

  • @Wexicanful

    David Murray

it says it in the info under the video

  • @Wexicanful David Murray is the actor.

  • Also just realised that Yeats, Friel, Beckett and Wilde can be seen in the glass panels as he says them. Amazing advert! x

  • @JenFrusciante

just realised when he says beaufort scale the wind blows his hair

  • "We've given the world Yeats, Friel, Godot and Gulliver, Dracula and Dorian Gray."

Favourite part. Makes me very proud to be Irish. x

  • @JenFrusciante sorry i dont get dracula?! whats that connection?!

  • All that we've "given the world" and nobody will give us a lend of a few quid... :-(

  • Fantastic advert guys. Good job. Another thing us Irish ace at...making commercials

  • Agreed! David Murray is great in this spot. Our company did the post work on the ad and we're delighted it turned out so well.

  • Wikipedia show's that this is all true! Good to see something that makes you proud during these dreary days...

  • Great ad. Thank god they didn't go with the ad whore Craig Doyle

  • super, I can't wait to travel from it .. maybe next week !

  • 'We've reached the world from here?' Well so did St Brendan the Navigator in a hide covered boat that didnt cost the tax payer €600 million.

  • @byronsusan Terminal 2 did not cost the taxpayer a singe euro. DAA is not funded by the state whatsoever, and in fact is a net contributor to the state. Its €600 million investment in Terminal 2 was funded through a combination of commercial revenue, aeronautical charges and borrowings.

  • It really makes me proud to be irish

  • Such a captivating advert. I like how they've chosen a sophisticated actor like David Murray as opposed to some cheesy irish model or comedian. The facts in the advert are astonishing, I had no idea us Irish had made such a big impact on the world :)

  • That is one of the best adds around I'm proud to be rish. :)

  • I was part of the trials and it's a nice terminal and all... but what's the point in advertising something that you don't have any choice over whether to use or not? Your plane takes off and lands wherever it's told to.

  • I know it's an airport and he's just saying a few facts.... but this makes me proud to be irish... :)

  • miss Ireland

  • Brilliant Advert

  • Dave Murray for next James Bond

  • great advert, perhaps the folk in the IDA should be broadcasting the first 40 or so seconds worldwide...

  • This just made me homesick!

  • WoooooW next flight to kuwait from this terminal lovely ;)

  • Great add. Who knew we did so much?!! ;)

  • @Irishcurls123 Cool she is lucky to be able to use T2 and fly nearly everyday!!!

  • JUst asking, i'm booking a flight to portugal in january for july with aer lingus, would that be going into t2?

  • @randonio10 If you are flying to Portugal with Aer Lingus in July next year that flight will be operating from Terminal 2.

  • Though Im not a big fan of the DAA, it is a brilliant ad

  • @stevegates Take what you hear from the media about the DAA with a pinch of salt! And take a spoon of salt with what you hear michael O Leary say !!!
