GREAT JOB ON BOTH VIDEOS, THIS WAS WHEN FLYING WAS SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO ,THE 60S AND 70S , AIRLINES ORDERING THERE FIRST WIDE BODIES,OVER 60 US AIRLINES, FEW DELAYS, NO TSA, GOOD FOOD ,GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.EMPLOYMENT WAS HIGH....ITS SO SAD WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS INDUSTRY.
Great video! I still remember when I was dating a girl class mate at Mesa College and I took her to a PSA party. She pulled me aside and asked me...is there any unattractive people that work at PSA?
I worked for JAL, for years, beginning in 1971 and so many of these women almost look familar. Of course the no "hushkits" @ 2:48 was actually a retrofit for jet engines, circa; late 70's & early 80's) to quiet the puppies down bit when noise abatement got to be an issue around airports.
And this starts right out with a photo taken from above a Convair 990! Amazing.. I wonder how they got that shot? Looks like approaching a tanker for refueling!
The 990 has 'anti-shock bodies' on top of the wings -- to break off the shock wave as it approached Mach 1. Honest. They doubled as small fuel tanks.
This was the FASTEST airliner ever -- until the Concorde.

At 1:16 into this treasure, I found my element, a PAA gal and the aft end of Boeing 727. That's heaven.
