Craigslist has too many non existant jobs and temp agencies lie about work and know they have nothing but yet make you waste your time signing up with them. The last job fair I went to 6 months ago was at a Workforce Center and there were over 10000 people there and 4 employers. I hate it here in Oregon and never have seen things so bad now here.

Thanks for the post. There are no jobs here in Oregon. I have been to job fairs and there were thousands and thousands of people there in one place and only 4 employers there. I cannot remain optimistic any more due to the REAL unemployment rate being over 55% here. MSI laid me and 190 others off and moved to Arkansas for lower wages. Call centers have let people go due to NAAFTA being legal and them moving call centers to other areas. Then the ones that are left want you to work for no wages.
There are hundreds of trucking companies that will hire you in a second. You just have to do over the road. That keeps you out, but it's still better than losing your home or not feeding your kids.
from my job hunting experience, I've realized that most job employers (online) don't check submissions. This is especially true for websites like jobfox.com and idealist.org. Don't waste your time with such shitty websites. I recently sent about 130 different job submissions in idealist.org and I only got like 2 phone calls. extremely useless website to say the ultimate least.
The pessimism grows because the numbers don't lie. About 54% of 25 year olds in the US with a 4 year degree are unemployed right now, including me. About 70% of students who graduated in 2009, don't have a job for what they went to school for as of today. Also, most colleges out there aren't doing much to help students find jobs either.
here's something that many don't realize. human resources people get hundreds of applications, resume submissions, etc but don't check it because they don't have time. it's a sad fact but that's reality. many times, you can be applying online and actually wasting your time (without knowing it) because your resume will never be seen. period.

I have a degree in Marketing Management and have experience with 3 customer service jobs. Have applied to 180 places in the last 2 years, had about 20 interviews, and no offers. I have been to job fairs with 20 companies and 5,000 people will show up and some will hand over their resume, only not knowing it will probably get thrown out.

My basis is that Japan tried SEVERAL stimulas plans thru their recession of the 90's. They only came out of the recession when they stopped stimulas plans and did nothing, resulting in lower taxes. It doesn't matter if republicans care about American working class. That's not your/my business... what matters is that business is successful and creates jobs. Punish business, and you punish the American worker... comrade. Think N. Korea, Cuba, Cambodia, Nazi Germany, and now Venezeula.

The OBAMA stimulus plan gives tax breaks and funds businesses all over america, and also creates federal/state/city jobs for the American people. with pay that can actually support American families

Its true, those that do not know history, are doomed to repeat it. You're last comment is a perfect example. Secondly, nobody knows what this 2nd stimulus is going to do in terms of job creation. What we do know, is that it's going to add over 1 trillion in debt that you, me, and generations will have to repay.
Finally, sitting back and letting the recession go through it's normal cycle is better than slipping this nation further into socialism. Try replacing the income tax with Ntnl sales tax

By the way have you noticed that Barack Hussein Obama, chose to enroll his kids in an upscale private school, or that he chose to take Air Force 1 on an hour + long trip, when he could of been there in 15 minutes on a less glamarous helicopter. Or that he was the prodigy of a known marxist communist, and wrote about him in his book. Obama has the right to send his kids to any school he wants. He is also paying with his own money. I know people who make less than a 100 thousand a year, who send their kids to private school. It is a matter of choice.
If you are jealous of the Obama's, then maybe you should go to school and work your ass off like they did, and maybe, you might be able to achieve their level of success..

First, I'm not a liberal. The Republicans have more in common with the Democrats' politics than they do with mine. Anyways, I don't insult everyone I come in contact with, but I call it like I see it. "Communist? Militant democratic banking policies?" Why don't you lose the hyperbole already and make a point.
