  • O bloody hell that AWSOME!!!

  • or use a battery

  • only you can prevent boredum

  • i remember doing this when i was little.

  • AKA the plan B

  • where do you come up with this stuff?

  • Do you have any studies in pyrotechnic to have access to some of the material you have access?

  • @Volvary yer, definately, how else would you get steel wool and copper cable?

  • @EnDabuwya You havent seen his other videos right... I'm talking about like... the 6 inch shells, some fireworks he plays with, black powder, etc.

  • @Volvary ok, sorry for being condescending, that was impolite

  • looks pretty sweet :D

  • hehe ima put steel wool on my poi

  • damn....... thats awesome

  • I'm thinking of the fire cord... ballerina?

  • How do you know this stuff???

  • what tyoe of clothing would be best suited for this, and could use any other type of cord ???

  • @8602970 Cotton or wool clothing will be the most fireproof. Some sort of wire needs to be used because other types of string will burn or melt.

  • i did this for my grandpas birthday a few weeks ago and it was awesome

  • how many wool pads do you use in this video

  • i did this once in a huge parking lot and thankfully no one caught us doing it

  • You Sir are the true McGuber

  • cool

  • interesting, good vid! :D

  • nice firebending

  • FPS russia brout me here

  • do you have to use copper cord? or can I use 550 para cord?

  • @ECHO7AIRSOFT Plastic cord will melt.

  • that is so easy to do!!! AWESOME!!

  • THAT..... IS..... AWESOME

  • how do u not burn yourself?

  • smokey the bear is about to flip the fuck out

  • my mom will definitely kill me if I will do this :P

  • Can you spin two at a time?

  • i like this. cool and affordable. Thanks!

  • It would be awesome if you made a girandola

  • so that is how magicians summon fire!!

  • At the end you totally look like chuck norris =D

  • slipknot ;D

  • Simple AND looks Amazing!

  • Make a mortar canon with steel wool :D

  • London Olympics just got a new opening ceremony

  • the title should be "how to be badass like kratos"

  • that's it, I've never seen such a thing in my country, and i'm gonna kick so much ass when I use this, next year.... -_- nothing bad about the video btw, I like your video's

  • amazing.. :P

  • ARSON!!! jk

  • Worlds biggest sparkler!!!!!

  • yeah, umm i did this and was pulled over by the police

  • @CPTcoolkat Sorry For Asking... WHY THE FUCK WERE YOU DOING IT IN A CAR?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • @SauceDonkeyPSN lol no i wasnt in a car, they just took me of the streets and yelled at me

  • hahaha, cool guys dont look at explosions.

    oh lonely island...

  • imagine what this would look like with one of those strobe cameras 0_0

  • your like kipkay.... but better.

  • you scare me :(

  • Is it possible to burn yourself from the wool that flys off?

  • @dude31312 Yes, you must be careful.

  • @dude31312 Couldn't I use this for a Kratos costume?

  • who wouldn't like this asowme thing

  • Comment removed

  • I have a suggestion for a spark cannon.

Could you try puttung steel wool into a pvc tube with one of your pressure chambers on the back and with something to hold it in place?

If you pressed the button it will shoot out a whole cloud of hot sparks :)

  • @Heinzx3 Yep, it does do that. I'll think about showing it in a future video.

  • @Nighthawkinlight BUT ! not too much pressure or to Less Pressure or it will fail

  • @Nighthawkinlight can you send me the balistic knife tut

  • يوووه بقوه قدييم يعني جاب شي جديد اذكرها قبل اخش المدوسه والحيين انا في الجامعه T_T

  • Old قديمة مره

  • Some people from The Netherlands use this for their tv-show xD

  • how long does it burn? (:

  • @TheBombaman99 About as long as the video shows. It will burn longer if the pads are left compacted, but brighter if they are unrolled.

  • Too bad that's proboble illegal in California.....

  • @MrSamuraimidori What? Is steel wool illegal in california?

  • could i use something besides copper wire? if so, what?

  • @michigander47 Any wire.

  • @Nighthawkinlight okay cool

  • i caught on fire

  • @Nighthawkinlight how many time does it work ???

  • @75thibaut How many times does what work?

  • @Nighthawkinlight How many times does what work? LOL! Classic reply, man. :D

  • hi.. if you don't mind me asking, why are some of your previous videos private now?

  • could you make a vid, with a fire rocket, with one of these on it?

  • @0mrforce0 I've been thinking about it for a little while now. There's a possibility of that happening.

  • SOMEONE SHOUD TOTALY DO LIGHT PAINTING WITH THIS!!!

  • @JWS5th whats light painting?

  • If i use ussual cloth it can get burn'd right?

Also did you use goggles on this video since i didnt see them :)

    Cheers nice work!

  • SICK

  • very very nice how youcomeup with this stuff idk but your doin good

  • @killerkan357 He didn't come up with this lol.

  • nice :DDDDD

  • i did what instructed to in the video lastnight and went outside IT WAS SOOOOOOO FUN!!!!!

  • @EPICNESS4781 Great! Share the video!

  • @Nighthawkinlight im gonna right away

  • Nice job as usual NH.Keep up the good work!!

  • Hey long time no see I got a small question how much dextrin per gram do you use on your blackpowder

  • @cantgetusername 2% or so.

  • Why dont you make an girandola of it? :)

  • Very cool.

  • Very neat. The pyro in me thanks you :) Cheers from Canada.

  • That is pretty sick! I was playing with those to make hand warmers for skiing, as you can light one to make a ember thing.

  • I saw this in my inbox and was thinking, why am I subscribed to this random channel? Watched the video and was instantly reminded. Keep up the good work.

  • you can light it with a 9 volt battery

  • I burnt holes in my trampoline doing this, FIRE WHEEL!!

  • don't the sparks burn your head or your clothes ?

  • is steel wool expensive?

  • @thebowlzack No, the ammount you saw being put into the loop was about $2.50.

  • @thebowlzack About $3 for 12 pads at walmart. I use 4 pads in my firewires, so about $1 a piece.

  • @Nighthawkinlight thanks

  • for some reason their a PERFECT circle in the side view

  • @michelange3 Of course!! The radius of the circle is the length of wire the steel wool was connected too!

  • As someone who is going to school to be a firefighter, I can only hope you wouldn't do this near and dead wood/brush. This is just asking to start a forest fire if you do this in the woods...

  • @GlockDropNRoll No, certainly not. There are responsible ways to use something like this, but it must be treated like any other firework or device that uses fire. It is not to be used in dry environments. I give more safety tips in the video description.

  • next time can you say these is dangerous cause my brother tried it and the sparks burned me.

  • @megakailler Sorry to be rude... but it's fire... ofc fire will burn you.

  • @megakailler Did you think the fire was just aesthetic?

  • I never knew u answered questions

  • @slade23777 I almost always do on my new videos. I sometimes can't keep up with all my older ones.

  • @Nighthawkinlight HOLY SHIT. i cant believe you responded to me lol. i love your vids man keep it up! im going to try this thing in a few days and put it on my channel, it would be great if you check my channel out.

  • Do you have any idea how to make a 12ga. "Dragons Breath"???

It's a 12ga shotgun shell that when fired it produces a long fireball.

  • @DIECASTER Yeah I have a good idea of how that could be done, but I don't know if I will bring firearm modification related things onto this channel just because I'm not sure of what laws that may involve.

  • Cheapest way to get your iron oxide for thermite too. Except you just light the wool and blow on it with a fan until its all reacted. Then crush it into powder. 3 parts to 2 parts Al dust. IF the Al is fine enough, you can ignite it with a fuse.

  • i think i found a fun thing to at a gas station.

  • @DiesesedCow Or when you're surrounded by cops.

  • @bamboo4tameshigiri or surrounded by cops at a gas station.

  • Is there really nothing more to this?

  • Would doing this in a deserted parking lot be the best bet for not starting a fire?

  • @NickyDark17 Yes, on pavement is a good idea.

  • i think i will do this, and attach it to poi.

  • I was expecting something elaborate, like coating the wire with something. I was rather surprised that it can be done so simply.

  • yAY LETS ALL TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS THEN BLAM HIM FOR OUR DEATH!! *kiddin*

  • epic

  • wow this is epic ...... i think il go make one now :)

il try to talk to the people i know so you get more views :)

  • Great job, nice vid.

  • To light it, a 12V battery works.

  • Do i have to use only cooper wire or can i use anything else? What?

  • @SuperNoob1010 Any other wire should do. Some people have used wire clothes hangers, but I don't like that method quite as much.

  • i liked and faved, i really liked this

  • why dont you make any videos about real pyrotechnics any more?

  • You can also light the steel wool with a 9 volt battery.

  • Pulling off one of these will surely impress people. It did on me, and it's so simple to make! Thanks Hawk!

  • wow this is imence i will so try it

  • Pretty good, until the grass sets alight :P

  • awesome idea and video! just spitballing here, but wouldn't 2 metal sieves and some chain work better? steel wool still gets enough Ox and has enough room to throw sparks out, but would always be secure in the sphere made out of 2 metal sieves

  • @wdkpstr17 I actually tried that in preparation for this video. The screen did not let out nearly as many sparks, and the wool quickly burned holes through it.

  • Please discuss the safety precautions you took. There will be kids out there that will think this is safe because it looks so easy. This can be done safely but not if it is done carelessly. Out here in dry California this could start a major fire if done in the wrong area.

  • @michalchik Quite right. I included safety information in the video description, but perhaps it is not well enough in view. I will add an annotation directing viewers to the description.

  • @Nighthawkinlight Thank you :-)

  • Legit

  • 9 volt batteries are safer

  • I am hitting myself in the head for not thinking of this. I have been doing science demos with steel wool for years.

  • Comment removed

  • @giggityboi637 Usually I do include the cost in the video description. These cost less than $1 to make. The price can go up or down depending on how much steel wool you want to use. They're cheap either way.

  • Looks like a good way to like your hair on fire lol.

  • Cool I have been thinking about something like this thank you!

  • 3nd

  • Dear, Nighthawk

i love ur vids, please make more on a regular basis!! i cant get enough of the pyrotechnics and interesting things you come up with.

    SKEE!!!

  • @giggityboi637 Thanks! I definitely will keep the videos coming.

  • 2rd?

  • that looks badass ^^ is it very dangerous? or only slightly?

  • @redrhyn0 Only slightly. You just need to have good safety glasses and a hood on. Obviously it's not to be done in a dry environment either.

  • @Nighthawkinlight thanks alot :D

i'm going to make the wire and take a load of fine steel wool out in the marshes, its Very damp there, and even the air feels extremely wet

  • @redrhyn0 You have to be careful about that. The peat that the ground in marshes is made of is very flammable and can smolder for days. Better not to play with fire in a swamp, even when it's wet.

  • @Nighthawkinlight

    GAH!

thanks for potentially saving my life... :D

where would you recommend i "play with fire" ?

  • @redrhyn0 On pavement or even on a green lawn with no flammable brush or buildings around.

  • @Nighthawkinlight

Here in England In the 'Fens' we are not allowed to have bonfires because it can set light to the fields. The peat soil here burns very well. In fact, many years ago we had Peat cutters here that used to cut brick shaped blocks and they were stacked up and dried then people would put them on the fire in their homes and burn them for heat. It was much cheaper than coal and sometimes it was even free! Here it is illegal now.
