4023 was kept indoors for almost thirty years, alongside 3985, in near operable shape. For God knows why, U.P. decided to put it outdoors on display. It was moved along with the DD40X to this park to honor Kenefick. It should have joined 844, and 3985 in service, but will now just deteriorate over time, exposed to the snow, rain, and wind. If these two locomotives are going to be kept outdoors, at the very least, a weather shed should be designed to protect them.

When I see things like this it makes proud to be a American and it also pisses me off for poor shape were in right now. This current national debt debacle should of never happened. I want all you Obama supporters tell me were in better shape when Bush was in office. I admit he was not that great of a president but he is better what we have now. You do remember 9/11 This country had been outsourcing jobs long before "W" took office. Do you remember Bill Clinton & Alan Greenspan economic plan my friends were getting laid off by the dozen in tech fields while day traders went wild buying and selling .com stocks & giving loans to anyone on over priced housing now look at the banks

My reference to Obama is because since he has taken office the Country economy has continued to slide downward and in some areas the down hill slide has accelerated. An example could be the loss of this country AAA bond rating. I fully understand that economic problems this country is not one person fault.
