tot lots are great! i found a 14k gold chain and a 925 earring today..both firsts for me..i will definitely be going back as i got rained out and only hunted half of it...HH!

@GDFLS Hi & thanks for watching, Lots of history by you, if your just starting out, i would buy something that is easy to use, i know a lot of people that use the Garrett ace 250, and i only hear great things about the detector, i think you can buy them for around $220 , but there are other good brands out there too. Have a good one, best of luck to you when you get your detector. HH

Great job on the jewlery crunch!I like the tot lots now and then myself.Thx for taking us along. I could see 14k on that bracelet too :) I think the "j" stands for "JackPot!" HH

@NiagracountyNY Thanks, yep they are fun to do now and then, most of the time detecting the wood chips, we get the junk jewelry and clad, but once in awhile you get something good. I went out Wednesday to a few tot lots, nothing great..57 coins.

I think you are right about all three pieces. 14K on the mangled bracelet, the heart pendant is very nice and has good quality stones mounted in it. The Thailand piece I think is also silver. Good job!!
