I love blendtec, however, I just saw this guy at my costco last week. He said "a year and a half ago" he was really fat. Well, this video was made in 2008. Now i'm not 100% sure it's the same guy... but they sure look alike!
he said that blendtec never needs a tamper to push food down to the blades like "other expensive blenders". so what do you need when you make nutbutter with it? a spatula? oh, of course not. not the same thing. so sometimes a tamper of a kind is necessary when making certain products. sales people are such liars. and that o-ring under the blade wears out. this happened to mine.
Blendtec sucks! i haven't even had mine for 2 weeks and it broke already. the whole thing just fuckin shut down and never came back on. DO NOT BUY A BLENDTEC!!!
I bought the Vitamix and I just love it. Make anything from smoothies, sorbets, breads and soup. I have had mine for over 3 weeks now and use it contantly about four times a day. Never had a problem with it. All my meals turn out delish and the other than the machine being a little noisy the vitamix is just great. I have lost over 15 pounds since using it. After trying my vitamix out, i simply would not buy anything else.
My first soup didn't come out so good either. But keep varying your recipes. It gets better. One thing I learned is .. don't use too much raw onion. It overpowers. I've had mine 4 days now & I love it.
That is funny that you would return a blendtec, i returned my vitamix at costco since it would keep shutting itself off and overheat just trying to make smoothies. I think that the only good vitamix blenders are the old metal ones you can't find anymore, the blendtec is so much better.
So you like the Blendtec better? I remember the old metal Vitamix with the pour spouts for the juice. Never used one. I have a Champion juicer. I just bought the Blendtec after seeing it at Sam's Club & I love it. I make healthy low fat soy ice cream & green smoothies all the time now.
I recently bought a blendtec, but after seeing the vitamix demo I am returning my blendtec for a vitamix. Thank goodness for Costco's liberal return policy.
@thyssenelevator95 The HP ratings are a joke. The companies are allowed to state the "peak" HP. That is for an instant the HP is 3 Hp, and then settles down to less than that. Also the ratings are without the cooling fan attached
I believe It's actually a 7 year or 10,000 cycle warranty. Might want to verify that before you buy. You can see the cycle counter at 5:34 in the vid.
If you buy it from Sam's Club or Costco the store gives you an extra 4yrs warrenty. The company gives a 3yr one. So you have 7yrs with the extra 4. If you can get one from Costco or Sam's get one there.
@bengalkitty Costco will take an item back long after any warranty you would buy for sure. I think as long as a Costco exists, they would take back any product that they have sold. I had as friend who bought a hot tub at Costco take it back after 6 years (Warranty was long expired) because of a leak and they were given store credit for the original purchase price. No questions asked and I'm not certain but I don't think they had a receipt either. In my opinion, Costco has the best return policy.
i work at costco, and i see these guys blend all kinds of stuff! i wish i had one, but im not going to spend 400 for it! lol the guy i have at my store is amazing, he sells out everytime!
Not anymore :P Starbucks , and Jamba juice have replaced their blenders with Vitamix quiet ones :).

Kind of ironic that he talks about not having the leaking seal problem... which is the only issue I've ever heard of with the Blendtec.

What size is the container? Blendtec has a new 96oz container with a 4" blade. Is this the same?

Well this video was from 2008, so that wasn't available. It is their standard jar that was being used.

does the montel williams have more power than this one the montel williams has 2hp in it.
Travide 2 years ago
A Blendtec Total Blender has a 3HP, 1300 A motor, which is stronger than any other home blender. Most blenders run at either 1/3 HP or 1/2 HP.
thyssenelevator95 2 years ago
The one I just bought has a 1500 A motor.
