  • A bit dramatic, particularly that last bit with the skeleton holding on to the fence, but still one of the best depictions of a thermonuclear air-burst. The only thing missing, for obvious reasons, is the deafening thunderclap that should have come with the shock wave. It was, after all, a tremendous explosion.

  • lol you know whats weird is the US gov has a program called skynet... unreal lmfao

  • Definitely restricted by the mac, can tell by watching the original version. Thanks, won't buy a mac now!

  • @TrentSki80 This YouTube user has no idea what they're doing. They've installed some crap codec thing that watermarks the video. Just like on a windows machine if you downloaded some useless shareware program that exports with copyright info over the video. There are excellent, free open source apps available he could have used instead. Perian, Handbrake, VLC, MPlayer, ffmpegX and more. Anyway, pleny of reasons to dislike macs, this isn't one of them.

  • This is what happened when Duncan And Gwen became a couple on Total Drama World Tour!

  • This is a powerful scene. It is truly the scariest scene in this movie.

  • Shes faking it.

  • It's said said taht this is actually meant to happen when an atomic bomb explodes in your proximity.

  • Sarah: Where are the vaults?

Vault-tec president: We didn't build any yet.

    (H-Bomb explodes)

    Sarah: I'm burning!

    Vault-Tec president: Me TOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • 0:26 i would just hide in that small tunnel in front of the large truck in the background.

  • This is more violent than the fallout 3 nuke.

  • It is so sad to think that we came very close to this at the height of the cold war.

Search "Vasili Arkhipov" on wikipedia and you'll see.

  • The "funny" thing is, this is actually gonna happen...

  • So...all in all...I'd be screwed.

  • HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!

  • ohhh myyyyy fuuuccckkiinggg gooodddd

  • Tactical Nuke imbound.

  • AAAUUUUGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

  • what bothers me is that t2's intro contradicted this scene. the cars flipped and skeletons scattered. the intro showed everything in place: skulls grouped together, cars upright, etc.

  • This scene scared the holy hell out of me when I watched the film when I was 10 at the time. I had nightmares for weeks......

  • This was the scariest thing I saw when I was kid and this first came out......omg......It's like, the most realistic vision of what a nuke would do......gives me the chills.

  • Chicken and cow....

  • thats probably how the dinos died and plus this is pretty damn scary for a terminator movie

  • Safety.

  • Now they know how the Japanese people felt when the atomic bomb hit them

  • @dacowsaidmooful they felt nothing, except those who were farther or survived, like the hibakusha and hiroshima maidens.

  • @dacowsaidmooful h bombs are instant and bigger.

  • @dacowsaidmooful Actually, at Ground Zero, they felt nothing. A few miles from Ground Zero, they were in agony.

  • cant believe humans make weapons of attack but not weapons of defense. There is no true defensive weapon. They are all attack weapons. There is no shield. They make nukes that can destroy everyone, but wheres the.. 400 hour protection bubble, lol. I want one that a nuke just goes right over.

  • her bones would not stay in tact first of all. secondly yes she would vaporize and that fence would melt as well. All of that would happen in an instant and there would be no time to even scream if she were that close.

  • people,if your half a mile away from a nuke, (like alotta people r sayn sara is a 1/2 mile away from the nuke)

death would be instant and painless. you would be instantly vaporized.

(from any modern nuke or nuke from the cold war)

  • the poney wasn't affected at all

  • Chuck Norris farted......

  • i´ve gotta burn burn burn... Burn burn burn Ive gotta burn!

    (music)

  • so this is what it was like for gannon!

  • boom :D

  • Saw this as a kid... ended up in the fetal position for an hour.

  • @deidjera Exellent....

  • Comment removed

  • I'M MELTING MELTING!!!!!!!

  • Whoever made this fails biology forever. If Sarah has been carbonised, she CANNOT scream. Her lungs and voice box CANNOT make sound, because she is DEAD.

  • @hotelmario510 Wow whoever made this comment knows nothing about the director's direction with this scene. He was trying to show the horror's of a nuclear explosion you dumb ass.

  • @glassessn Yes, but it's not scientifically accurate. But I'll write it off on Rule of Cool and also the fact this is a dream sequence.

  • Comment removed

  • @hotelmario510 It doesn't have to be 100 percent scientifically accurate. The nuclear explosion is seen through the eyes of a normal citizen (who's not a scientist) who is having recurring nightmares about nuclear explosions and the end of the world. That's just how Sarah Connor imagines it. End of story.

  • @hotelmario510 Of course but it makes the scene more horrific if you could hear her screams of agony. It makes it more horrific and disturbing.

  • @glassessn a nuclear bomb is silent when it goes off. Well, from that distance. Example, ever watch a fireworks display from a distance? Same thing.

    Flash! oooooo pretty! BOOM!!

  • @glassessn

watch hiroshima , even there people are vaporised.

  • @TenebraeNoctis79 UUggh excuse me sir but I am pretty sure you have to read all the comments before assuming that I don't think this is unrealistic, you dumb ass. I know the scene is unrealistic but the director wanted this particular scene to look more horrific if you can hear the screams of agony coming from children and their parents. I suggest learning a thing or two about movies.

  • @hotelmario510

you are right. the temperature of 300.000 kelvin in the first milisecs would vaporize Sarah, the playground and everything around to dust.

she wouldnt even have time to realize the explosion

after a few secs the temperature is "cooled down" to 30.000 K air temperature. its still enough to vaporize everything instantly.

    this nuke is crap.....

  • @TenebraeNoctis79 Oh, good, someone who agrees with me.

  • @hotelmario510 me three.

  • @TenebraeNoctis79

Plenty of people that were outside the initial blast of Hiroshima had their skin hanging off their bodies and other horrible things. The effects lessen the further from the center of a nuclear bomb you are but other factors such as wind direction will determine how many people are affected before it's done and even years after soil and water can be contaminated.

  • @kro2488 In the epicenter of the explosion would the flash of light kill you instantly? I mean kill you before you could register pain?

  • @ChicknPoo no you would be instantly vaporized turned to dust within 1 billionth of a second

  • @TheAbsurdFish THANK YOU THIS IS WAYYYYY TOO DRAMATIC.

  • @ChicknPoo In the epicenter? The heat of the blast will kill you before you know it. Farther out, if the force of the blast don't get ya, you gona die slow and painful. Its just better not to think about it.

  • @TenebraeNoctis79 actually, this is fairly accurate. The human body is very insulated when it comes to temp, we are made of mostly water and we all know how long it takes a pot to boil. The US did a test on live pigs to see the effects of a nuclear blast from a half mile away and they were in a contained pen. After the test, the pigs shadows were burned into the ground and they tracked the dead pigs several hundred yards away after they ran off screaming. Pigs bodies fell apart from radion

  • @hotelmario510 we all know that , just don't forget this scene was a dream :)

  • WHAT THE HELL IS THIS, AN ATOMIC BOMB OR AND H BOMB???

  • @worldchampion1986 h-bomb, not a-bomb, as sarah said to dyson later.

"men like you built the hydrogen bomb."

  • I used to think this scene was so scary as a kid watching it. It still is, but I must say, as an adult, I can finally embrace those magnificent special effects.

  • >unregistered watermark

    Wow you must be retarded

  • This is what happens when Chuck Norris Falcon Punches WeeGee, with a Mythbusters C4 BOMB? strapped to him.

  • z0mg! fallout 3 beginning

  • MY EYES! DA GOGGLE DO NOTTING!!

  • I saw this as a kid once.

    Oh god.

  • @LurciSilver I seen this movie (and this scene) when I was 6, i am now 17, this is the first time I am watching it since then, i couldnt sleep for days, doesnt bother me much now, still disturbing as fuck, upon watching it now, i did turn my volume off completely

  • this would likely happen in the city. its not likely that this will happen to the world.

  • @AceBanyon and it will take many nuclear weapons.

  • 0:17 to 0:32 scares me the most. I sometimes have nightmares about nukes going off close to me :p

  • suld i say DUCK AND COVER

  • Right at the end, I could only think of MK with Scorpion's finishing move.
