  • It was Joe Elliott of Def Leppard who discovered me in May of '83 while on tour promoting Pyromania. Mutt Lange who produced the album also had produced the Aussie band AC/DC's Highway to Hell and brought INXS to meet me in Jun of '83 when I fell in love with Hutch. I nicknamed him Max after he told me about the movie Mad Max and why he named his side project Max Q. Def Lep had been on tour with Billy Squier before I met them & used "In the dark" at the beginning of this song when I wrote it.

  • no,no,no,NO!

  • the biggest mistake inxs ever made! when michael died, they should have retired. this is a p1ss poor version - JD Fortune is a dull wannabe who is never gonnabe!

  • @TheWhiteOleander31 They didn't retire because I had written other songs for them to perform. We gave J.D. the stage name for J.D. Salinger and the side project Hutch had tried to promote in the '80s by the stage name Flame Fortune.

  • hey JD fans... show your love! Follow JD on twitter jdfortunemayhem

    and on his site jdfortune448

    His talent is undeniable!

  • Sorry folks....this guy's ok, but, let's face it - quite simply no-one could possibly come even remotely close to replacing Mike. Thank you Michael and God giv e you great times up there

  • Michael will never replaced, we all know but i saw them in concert and they were Amazing INXS and JD, JD has a solo music now, Happy for the new roads of both , INXS and JD, good luck guys!

  • INXS = Michael Hutchence

  • I realy miss you Mike, where are you now, in heven ?!?! Of course you are angel. Nice cover :)

  • So sad, voice no comparison to the original, I wish he was but there will never be another Michael. Something vital is missing in the song here. Maybe the band now needs to do totally new stuff and leave the old to live with the legend. Good luck to the band. The singer has a decent voice, it's just not Michael.

  • you cannot even compare jd fortune to Michael Hutchence.... michael was one of a kind

  • Give JD a break. No one can replace Michael.

  • What a joke this guy is.Poser.

  • You sing we are the band and you are nothing but the singer and you replaceable you got that? That how the band impress to me.

  • Since this was a song played at Michael;s funeral,,,, and written by him, i think it is a disgrace for JD to sing it. Doesnt the memoreies of the funeral come back to the members of INXS when they have JD do it. I think its very bad taste since it was written by Michael and played at his funeral. Think guys.... Michael made you. Have some respect for the most beautiful man in the world.

  • Love this!! :)

  • shitty copy of Michael.

  • He's trying to copy Micheal it's a joke ...

  • I heard that too! If the rest of the band wanted to continue writing etc, maybe they could have gone back to the original name of "the Farris brothers" from the 70's. A Lead as strong and entertaining as Hutch, cannot be replaced, ever! That US show was nothing short of embaressing (But I do admit I never watched ONE episode!) The only good thing was, that it led to RS, Super Nova and showed the world another great Aussie Lead, TOBY RAND (Juke Kartel). Check them out! xx

  • He is Mumbling like he doesn't even know the words! INXS should have retired, gracefully on 22nd Nov, 1997!

  • LOL.. I agree!

  • JD Fortune is a complete dero. Michael Hutchence was the best thing ever to happen to Australian music. Just my opinion. I'm not insulting anyone whose opinion differs, just throwing it out there that JD Fortune is a douchebag.

  • @murdock6107 well said.

  • I love JD..., and I know that he will succeed in anything that he does...:)

  • Yeah, I totally agree - he's great!

  • This guy is a complety looser . Michael was INXS , end of the story .

  • He's nothing but a conceited shallow imitator.

  • NO ONE can ever replace Miachael...JD is just not doing it for me! INXS lost out big time when they "pissed" off Jon Stevens! (INXS should look into a long over due retirement, they are becoming embaressing now)

  • I wouldn't worry too much - they seem to have already broken up. Too bad too since they were excellent together. Ah, well c'est la vie. JD's doing his own thing with his solo CD and INXS are planning a special project. I wish them both well.

  • this guy is NOT michael hutchence. he is a cover and he dont have ANY personality. loser.

  • Hee - I'd never say that JD was lacking in personality. That's actually funny.

  • He does a good job. People give him a tough time, but the truth is he has been *handed* a massively great catalog to work with. I hope he will stay down to earth and cling to these guys. Too bad it has to be this way (different singer) or not hear the song live ever again (other than old recordings).

  • Perfect... just perfect... almost magic : )
