  • Hey, I have a question. I have the same computer, ut I can't get over 10 FPS on COD4, with every setting on LOW! Help is apriciated about what my problem may be. Any other game works just fine. :(

  • 2:14 AH YEAH, Wooh! That felt good right there, OH YEAH!

  • how would it compare to the aspire one 532g ? Anyone has any idea ? They both feature second gen Ion ?

  • Hello, please bite game FAR CRY 2?

  • 450 Euros :D in Belgium that should be like 500 dollars lol :P

  • someone know the price of this netbook in USD please!! i like them jejeje

  • 480$.

I just bought one on Amazon- expensive as hell for a netbook- but so, so worth it.

  • @gayllin

    $450

  • @gayllin 449 Bucks in bestbuy

  • you need to try resident evil 5 and devil may cry 4 and gears of war

  • no offense....torchlight is an EPIC FAIL of a game

  • How so?

  • Some of the games look jerky because of bad settings. AC is running at the full 1366x768 resolution, witch is way to high because the system uses shared memory. Also in COD4 4xAA is enabled.

  • damn i need to upgrade my eee 900 lol

  • how was the fps in these games? torchlight looked good; but the other games seemed kinda jerky.

  • im sure they where all sub 30fps but just the fact that they get that performance form a netbook.. is amazing.

  • Isn't it that your eye can only detect differences up to 15fps or something? So basically anything higher isn't really necessary?

I heard that a long time ago somewheres, I don't know about the validity of it.

  • I believe it is 30 or 60 fps im not sure which on though.

  • I think it was 60 and anything after that was useless to our eyes. Anyway almost every recently released game and anything back from 07-09 ran very smooth at low-medium settings on my 1201n. Most games averages around the mid-20's range for fps which is very playable.

  • @Ervine4 30. 60 fps isnt possible on a netbook with these kinds of games at the moment.

  • @9standard the eye can only see 30 fps, however we can rapidly detect the changes in fps...for example, if you were in a car going 30 miles per hour you wouldnt notice if you were going faster or slower unless the driver was breaking and accelerating in a jerking and choppy motion.

  • @9standard 30FPS. 15 appears choppy to us and past thirty generally doesn't differ much at all.

  • @9standard Our eyes can see a theoretical 1000 FPS, it really depends on the person, some people can train their eyes, but really, 45 FPS is the sweet spot in games. motion blur helps too..

  • Eyes dont work in FPS, the light from the screen means any fps would be avaliable if our minds could work that fast. :P

  • WOW JUST WOW! Soo getting one!! :D

  • 60 fps on SF4 amazing ~

  • Has anyone played The Sims 3 on this yet?

  • oh i couldn't fit all this in the last post but this netbook can be upgraded to 8gb of ram kinda overkill but it can be done:) im thinking of putting 4gb of ram 2x2gb next month

  • if you looking for more performance i would get the 1201n which i did and loving it so far.

but if you want more battery life over a bit more performance the 311 problee be better for you.

tho the battery life isint bad at all on the 1201n because last night i watch a movie using the hdmi hooked to my 57 Toshiba dlp @1920x1080 and watched a 2hour movie on it and after that i still had around 55% left of battery:)

i also like the looks better on the 1201n:) a bit bigger screen too.

  • mini 311 with n280 and 3 gigs of ram or this one??

  • this one if u want dual core processor. non ddr3 but this can max out at 4gb ddr2 tho. i has windows 7 without additional cost. a bit cheaper in the total price. battery pwr is a lil lower than 311.

  • thnx

  • yup yup anytime

  • the 1201n will get about 2hours and more while playing call of duty 4 sense i did it:) played for about a hour and 30min and i still had like 70 to 60% of battery.

so far im loving this netbook pretty much plays all games ofcourse in most of them you have to turn settings down but still good for a netbook:)

also if you check notebook review i figured out how to overclock the cpu to 1900mhzs:) so check that out if you want to overclock yours.

its in the 1201n thread about the last 3 pages

  • Can You send me a link to that please

  • dayum sf4 running 60.

  • Un truc de malade ce netbook!!

Sur CoD4 on obtient de très bon résultat avec quelques options sur Yes, en 1024x728 et Anti-aliasing x4!!

    C'est énormel!

  • so for me 4,30-5hours gaming in one charge is greate licke psp slim but with almost evrything what pc got ofcorse with beter games and full windows on biger screen hp 311 beat the psp go for me with price and evrythin what can give you psp

  • so asus 1201n is nat god netbook for a mobile gaming. the hp mini 311 lock beter guy on other movie showing the hp 311 with cod 4 in action and hi seed i bean pley in cod4 more than 2 hours and was stell more than 50 % batery left also i bean check the benchmark the asus 1201n got the same score as the hp mini 311 in 3dmark and big difrend is when you use win7 netboks with xp work results 5,45 hour with win7 4,52 hours and benchmark win 7 hp 6065 with xp 7038 score

    is hiugh difrenc

  • I noticed that COD4 was played wih 4x AA activated.

More performance can be obtained disabling it I think, MSAA (Multi Sampling Anti Alias) to disabled.

But the problem its the cpu I think.

This one is limiting the GPU, infact in some reviews changing the resolution shows no improvements in FPS.

This fact its imputable to a CPU LIMITED situation.

Some overclock on CPU will give you more fps.

I hope to buy it soon (I was waiting from so long time a Ion based netbook) to do some tests ;-)

  • how long you can play games licke cod 4 on batery

  • @pslestat Probably only about 1-2 hours, the games require lots of power and the battery on this netbook isn't very big.

  • I would not play a such intensive performance and power hungry game like COD4 on battery.

It will heat vey much much and will stress more and more, and that's not good for its lifetime.

Li-Ion aware heat and rapid discharges.

I would play it on AC power.

  • next time please use something like Fraps for a realtime framerate counter..

  • +1 :P for using fraps

  • Fantastic, I think it's an excellent performance for this netbook.

Thanks for the videos, are a great reference for who's are interested in this new netbook.
