This goes to show how WCW mis used talent. A Rey vs, Hart match would have helped build this company after the NWO started to fade, One of many ways. They never pushed young talent or let them get over guys like Hogan and Bret.
@niceguy999918 Actually, it wouldn't have helped much because Rey wasn't a household name like he is right now. I'm not saying he's got no talent, cause he does, but Hart was a big name back then. It would have been like when Sting wrestled Mean Mark Callous (Undertaker) in WCW. Mark wasn't a household name, but now that he is, everyone would love to see a Undertaker vs Sting match. Just my opinion.
Loved Bret as a heel, in WCW or WWF, didn't really matter. Bret was a good face, but his mic work was near the top in the industry as a heel, drew mad heat and he was just vicious. He'd attack anyone at anytime, top draw in the company or some curtain jerker you've never even heard of, made no difference. Wrestling was best then, not this "sports enterLamement" bullshit they got now.
That's just an idiotic statement. I guess all the matches with Mysterio vs. Malenko were "off". Vs Benoit were "off". Vs Angle were "off". All his matches against "big men" like Nash, Taker', Kane and Lesnar were "off". Guys like Bret made a career and made leaps and bounds in wrestling because he could have a great match with anybody of any size and style. Mysterio does the same now.
bret had a pretty decent match against hakushi in what i think was 95; its on his dvd and it pretty much shows that a technical wrestler can tear the house down with a high flyer. also, what about angle/mysterio from summerslam 2002, that match was awesome! those are the two that immediately spring to mind. if you havent seen them, check em out they are pretty damn good, especially angle/rey.
i remember being at this thunder live in oakland. this was going to be the match of the night. people got super pissed off @ bret hart. i believe bret was egged that night. very great heel tactics but i wanted to see this match end cleanly.

Only if Goldberg knew how to kick someone without being a jerk..
Bret wrestled for over 25 years and never injured even a single opponent..Too bad this legendary wrestler had to go out the way they made him..

That figure four around the ringpost looked like such an awesome move.

Bret Hart/Rey Mysterio match would have been awesome!!
JMC47000 2 years ago 23
@JMC47000 I know it would be a very entertaining match, but Bret is too vicious for Rey...it would be suicide for Rey.

@JMC47000 Typical of WCW to not ever make it happen. Sums them up. Would have been magical.

All due respect, i'm glad Bret didnt have to get in the ring with either of them.
Has anyone seen Bret's match with Billy Kidman? It just looked akward.....
I love the crusierweights, but the 2 just dont fit.
A technical wrestler with a highflyer....lol its just off.
Here came Kidman flying through the air, Bret somehow catches him and turns into his Sharpshooter.
Just akward.

Bret had an awesome match with 123 kid back in wwf, but thats when he was younger, here he's 40 something.
sleazyfellow 2 years ago
Age had nothing to do with it and if WCW had actually cared about having quality matches then that is what Bret vs. Rey could have given them.

Look at Bret's match with 1-2-3 Kid. It wasn't bad.

Agreed. Same here. Sadly this is the only interaction Bret Hart had with Juvi and Rey.
