Check out Stephen The Levite, he is EXACTLY what you just described...his record label, Lampmode record specializes in the east coast, backpacker hip hop, so yeah tell me what you think & though u may not agree with this...Da Truth's album(s) has so much diversity....some songs have the mainstream sound but not all of it & remember the sound u were talking about used to be "mainstream" too
