  • Ford is very much along the lines of Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges--personalities who assume a role in a casual and understated manner. It works just as well as say Meryl Streep who lets a role consume her.

That we can enjoy both types of acting is a fine thing to me!

  • Ford refused to work with Pollack again after Random Hearts bombed - something they forgot to mention in this interview.

  • random hearts was not a bomb a middle sized hit

  • I think the traffic enforcer says "Mosquito Coast" because it was such a bomb at the box office.

People didn't understand it and therefore they hated it.

So, the traffic enforcer says "Mosquito Coast" when he gives Ford the ticket as saying "I would have not given you a ticket but that movie you made sucked"

He was penalizing Ford for the movie NOT so much the parking infraction.

  • Okay, so you people are wondering why the ticket guy said "Mosquito coast".

In the movie world was portrayed as unfair, dark and corrupted world.

    So?

Now, Harrison is in the real world and he is going to get that ticket. He feels that getting that ticket is "unfair" so the ticket guy just turns and says "Mosquito coast" and by that he means that this world is actually the kind of world that was portrayed in the movie: unfair and a world where bad things happen to good people.

  • WHAT A SWEET GUY^^HEH

  • Why Pollack compare Harrison Ford with Stalone and Swartzeneger?

They are completely different acting types.

He should compare him with Sean Connery and Clint Eastwood!!

  • I don't get why the guy would say Mosquito Coast. That was one of Harrison's greatest performances BTW

  • Whatever Harrison, you did your best acting in that and Blade Runner.

  • cause the movie sucked balls and the guy was saying that the ticket was punishment for it. Simple.

  • Sydney Pollack was one of the best ever in the film industry.

  • The Fugitive is best ever, ever!!! Poland rulez.

  • I have seen Mosquito Coast, and thought it was a good movie. There you, my 2¢.

  • LOL mosquito coast. but why on earth did that guy say that?! i thought he'd get harrison's autograph on the ticket he was writing. why on earth mosquito coast?! and if he really had to name a movie of harrison's why not his more well-known ones?

  • He probably was trying to show Ford that he knew a lot about his career by naming an obscure film of his.. and yet was still not intimidated by him.. and issued him the ticket anyway

  • Pollack great in that his acting was as natural as his real self -i.e. as Dustin Hoffman's agent in Tootsie.

  • I don't get it. Mosquito Coast? LOL

  • i don't get what the police agent said to harrison. someone can tell me? thanks!

  • Mosquito Coast. One of Harrison's movies.

  • one of the greatest and talented men to be in the film industry during my generation......society will suffer never seeing another brilliant movie with this man again as a director or as an actor

  • he's just trying to make the point that harrison doesn't put off an agressive vibe, i don't see how he's kissing his ass.

  • waaaaa!

  • Pollack RIP

  • I liked mosquito coast

  • pls esplain me

  • Mr. Pollack spoke at my college graduation five years ago, he was given an honorary degree. He had everyone laughing. He was so fun, funny, and wise. Such a great guy to have on that day, instead of all the stuffy boring people we could have suffered through. I was very saddened to hear of his passing.

    Rest in Peace.

  • Pollacx is the man-great guy always-in life and beyond

i love that line in Stanley xubrics last film

THE ONE WITH THE GREAT TITS

    great psychological impact in film

  • I had to google "Mosquito Coast" and this video is funny....

    God bless...

    Randall M. Rueff

  • RIP sydney

  • mosquito coast?

  • A really bad movie that he was in. (I've actually never seen it, but that is the perception). I laughed at that.

  • it got a 75 on rotten tomatoes for some reason

  • that makes sense. still, i like Ford. great actor and a lady's man.
