  • I can fix the pitch and re-upload if that's okay with you. And yes, this is the best Hammerklavier I've ever heard...

  • Without a doubt my favorite recorded performance of the "Hammerklavier" - thank you for posting this!

  • @UncleNathan YOu're more than welcome!

  • Ogdon is the rare(with Richter and Solomon) who plays this first movement in the tempo that is written;that is C crossed. This means twice as fast as with normal C.

Other pianists play it merely in C.

A pity this version is under pitched-may be the transfer-other wise it would have been a little faster.

  • @superbemaison It was probably my turntable; it was too slow. If I ever get time I'll redo it.

  • @superbemaison Actually, the pitch in this recording is a half-step too high.

  • fantastico pianista e musicista purtroppo segnato dalla malattia mentale e da un declino precoce...veramente da riscoprire questa 106...personalissimo e inconfondibile il suono spumeggiante di Ogdon...

  • One of the best Opus 106 without any doubt !!!

  • Amazing!

  • Ogdon obtiene una sonoridad brillante y cristalina, maravilloso.

Ogdon obtains a shining and, wonderful crystalline loudness.

  • Thanks, but could you please post the links of the other movements/clips on the right side of the screen. It's a bit of a puzzle now...

    Greetings from the Netherlands,

  • a superb pianist and musician
