This was 1977-78 I believe and a top class Everton team. In the mid to late 70s, Everton were regarded as unsuccessful yet between 1975 and 1979, we finished in the top four on 3 occassions. Teams are spending 100s of millions trying to achieve that now.
BOB IS BOB. i got the cane in school for pinching bobs socks when we visited EVERTONS training ground. Best cane i ever got, them teachers dont understand us kids lol
This was actually 1977 not 1976. Dave Thomas pulling Rangers apart was painful to watch - still my all time favourite Rangers player, an amazing performer who was totally under rated. Everton were indeed a class team and played some super football.
With everything that went on in the 80s we all forget what a great team we had in the 70s and what a terrible mistake sacking Billy Bingham was. I'm convinced if King Billy had stayed we woulda won the title in '78. And considerin how dominant English clubs were in Europe back then...well c'mon. If Forest and Villa were Euro champs. A terrible wasted oppertunity to allow that twat Lee in.
i was there , everton in the mid to late 70,s were grossly underated ,true we never won anything ,close though ,and were always up there, bob latchford brilliant striker, was there when he got his 30th goal, against chelsea, andy king was my number one player along with big bob , and mick lyons, bob looks fit enough to play today, dave thomas was a brilliant winger to
Remember the transfer on news at ten, £375,000 + kendall and styles. Broke all records, what went wrong ??? Coyb.

Agree! Gordon Lee had no imagination at all, and Billy B was badly treated. Anyone got the clip of Duncan McKenzie taking Stoke apart?
