  • Ten people can't count.

  • founders of techno pop

  • @gipnfdl007 what are you talking about? daft punk and kraftwork sound nothing alike

  • looks like the friggin deck of the starship enterprise!

  • I was like 3 when this was done....and im old....Way ahead of it's time.....you don't respekt Kraftwerk...your a noob.

  • it sounds different from the album

  • Members were born, same day with the Roswell incident...

  • it likes they're in the FBI or something. what is all that equipment??

  • @DozaSlayer they basically took their whole studio on tour...

  • btw so einsam und alleine fühle ich mich heute

  • Some bands bring backing artists Kraftwerk bring a whole freaking sound studio with them!!!! :D

  • i hate kraftwerk fans who think daft punk are a rip off of kraftwerk. they sound nothing like each other

  • I love the beginning analogue voice " The Mensch Machine -Kraftwerk "

  • OMG I was a too little to them perform. Awesome, the beginning of techno music

    the embryo stage of 808.

  • least they used to do their freaky dancing then all they do now is stand there

  • Nothing like analog....nothing AWESOME!!

  • There's not enough machinery on stage!

  • I would love to see the whole gig...

  • what ever happened to the bass line?

  • Was that a bum note at 1.30? Should've been in the original!

  • Probably...

  • @retrorob2 it was most likely an analog synth going out of tune :p

  • KRAFFFT VERRRK

  • i love these old school voice synthesizers

  • Me too!

  • the best gig I've ever seen - no question

  • True day!

  • YOU DAMN RIGHT NALANOSTREBOR, THEY WERE AWESOME STILL GOING MINUS wOLFGANG FLUR AND KARL BARTOS

  • Remember seeing these in 1982 with toyah in front of me everyone was gobsmacked by kraftwerk!!

  • Any glimpse of Kling Klang on the road is a 5 star video IMO.

  • TORWAR (in Warschau) 1983. Ist moglisch ?Fur mich ist sehr gut... Spreche langsau...:-)))

  • Ich Ni Sanchi, Bitches!

  • haha, oh yeah!

  • KRAFTWERK = BEATLES

  • KRAFTWERK > BEATLES

  • @reeferdk This post is full of winz.

  • @reeferdk damn fucking right!!!

  • @reeferdk Kraftwerk are the Fab Four of my generation

  • @reeferdk Thats a little bit of a stretch, dont you think?

  • @reeferdk Words of wisdom... but more like The Beat... who???

  • They were so progressive. The Song is about FBI, CIA and german BKA are collecting our data, x-ray our live.

No question about the music, they made the way free for Depeche Mode, Techno, even people like N.E.R.D. or just Metallica. They all mention Kraftwerk as a source of inspiration.

  • Some great comments. Kraftwerk need to be judged in the context of where music was at the time and what they produced.

I don't listen to them as often as I used to but they were pioneers, produced great music, and countless bands have been influenced by them.

  • this sound rock the house!!!

    Kraftwerk vorraus! :)

  • must have been a devil between them, or whores in their heads...but hey...

  • ???

  • For the record...without Kraftwerk, there would be no Techno...or any electronic music for that matter....RESPECT 2 THE FOREFATHERS!

  • Well, depends on your taste. It seems like you are into romantic stuff. I would recommend the original versions of Computer Love, Radio-Activity, the Telephone-Call, Radioland, Franz Schubert, Europe Endless, Kometenmelodie II, Hall of Mirrors and Neon-Lights ( live from Minimum-Maximum )

  • Thanks! I will check them out.

  • this is where the beatboxer kenny muhammad go his wind technique...i just found out !!!!!!

  • uno dos tres quattro :p

  • listen at 1.30! yieeeaaahhhh!

  • hehe, yeah. i noticed that, too :)

  • All music will sound like this in the future.

  • That would be awesome :D

But this is a video from the past! Does that mean that all of today`s music sounds like this? Well, at least Kraftwerk has been ripped off a million times and contemporary music would sound totally different without them.

  • You didnt leave your drummer any chance ;)

  • Well speeded up.....it is prob. Kraftwerk having a live band joke (adrenaline speeds you up whenever you play, I am a drummer I know that!) for those of you yet to find it look at 'heimcomputer' on Youtube for Kraftwerk 81.... more stuff from the classic tour

  • One can have both.

  • Fucking hell, give me a time machine I want to witness this first hand.

  • Stimmt es, dass bei dem Lied auf der LP der Elmar Gunsch mitgesungen hat?

  • truly genius...I will always remember hearing Kraftwerk the first time. They completely changed my perception and understanding of music. Thanks...

  • wind technique? xD

  • Yes, it`s wind technique.

  • gorgeous

  • Uber-gorge

  • I remember when this song became popular out here in L.A. I was like 11 or 12 yrs old and I loooooved to poplock to this song ! I heard this on a college underground radio station the other day and had to look it up. Thanks for the memories!

  • cool, how big was Kraftwerk back then in the US, and especially in L.A? was it still underground?

  • die besten

  • fantastisch..

  • Unfortunately, video above is the only video from 1981 tour. In original size it lasts about half an hour. It`s record from Vienna, 17th or 21th of November.

  • LOL WIND TECHNIQUE

  • AMAZING

  • I loved that old funky stage. Saw them in Bremen, Germany in December 1981 on that tour. Got to the show as "Nummern" was playing; happy to see that I probably got in just moments after they'd started playing. It was a small club, maybe 400-500 people. Really cool show.

  • Ahhh...Their stage looks so futuristic...mniam....

  • Kisstadion, Budapest? Lucky guy ;). I`ve got it on tape. One of the best-recorded Kraftwerk`s shows from 1981.

  • what are you waiting for?! POST IT!

    GYORSAN/SZYBKI

  • To kraftwerkmann: yes Kisstadion, Budapest. I have got it on tape, unfortunately onlyaudio. Do you have it on video? I would kill for it! :)

  • I live in Budapest, so I really want to see it..:)

  • I saw a show of this tour on 15th of August, 1981. :)

  • To make a song about numbers and that sounds so cool..only the masters of Techno could do that. Wished I had seen this concert, saw the '91 and '05 show. Actually still got the concert T-shirts of the '91 show...

  • ОДИН ДВА ТРИ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When people from the past come into the 1980's via a Time Machine, they look at some video like this, get freaked out and go back to th3 1800's/= or earlier.

  • and i think TVybe is right! ;)

  • Saw them in Manchester early 90's I think...

Hail the true Innovators of Electro!

    TFP

  • Absolutely brilliant!! They practically have their entire studio on stage!! It looks like the inside of a space shuttle! Nowadays they only have laptop computers and most of the music is pre-programmed so not much live playing

  • This is not true they have as much preprogrammed as they did in this video. I have seen them live in both there old "space shuttle" set up and the laptop set up and they play all the songs and (except "we are the robots") have lots of control over the loops and sequences they have preprogrammed. Go see them live and you will see.....

  • ELECTRO KINGS

  • that roxxxxx baby =)

  • does not compute

those images aren't in sync with the music

    so overdubs???

  • Maybe yet it certainly is not the album version is it?

    The vox sounds live.

  • for the remix album of numbers. computer world was 1981.

  • nope. 1984-1985.

  • ichi ni suchi!

  • all those sounds are bringing me back to my childhood. why dont try doing this in FL Studio? what a challenge it would be... right?

  • this is good.....b

  • here is the numbers

ass swat detroit v.h.i fun sex tibet agrrrrr

  • saugeil--großes Kino!!

  • very nice sound for 1981. love these guys.

  • True Pionners, they were decades ahead of their time. Lyrics to the song "Computer World" were prophetic.

"Crime, Travel, Communication, Entertainment" this was 1980!

  • Not CRIME but TIME ;D

  • Saw them in concert here in Düsseldorf in the middle of the 90th. Privat they hang around in some bars there. It's their hometown.

  • Kein Rahzel. KENNY MUHAMMAD THE HUMAN ORCHESTRA. Danke/ Not by Rahzel but by KMTHO. Thanks.

  • wow...this is the clip tht actually inspired the wind technique by Rahzel...

  • Saw the tour in 1981 - awesome!!

  • Das ist ein Teil von Kraftwerk Konzert in Wien, am 19.11.1981 / this is a part of Kraftwerk`s live show performed on 19 Nov 1981 in Vienna.

  • Sven Väth played it on Mayday 2007 :)

  • Really ? Sound really cool. Does a Vid or a Set of this exist ? I would like to hear it.

  • Well, there is no video with this particular track, but i made a video of another part of his set @ mayday 2007.

  • Divinely inspired music. The Beatles and Kraftwerk. Two bands that came down from the skies..

  • "Numbers" was (and is) a NYC dance classic... the original WKTU broke the record and we all went insane for it.

  • kraftwerk manda!

    kraftwerk rules!

  • yeah because that was an intellectual comment.

they might let you into 1st grade next year.

cross your fingers (you have learned how to do that?)

  • einfach geil

  • I love this live version. Its blisteringly raw. The sounds are so satisfying. Those punchy squelching drums are like canon balls fired into mud. Then in come those trademark frightening wispering voices combined with their 1930's idea of the future visual style. such a weird group. They paint the oddest pictures in your mind. Will we ever see such uniqueness in musical direction ever again? hope so.

  • This counting song video should be on Sesame Street. The liddle kidz would count and danse robotically, in Der Kindergarten.

  • 7 Years before I was born too... I so wanted to see this. You can see the influence of Kraftwerk to me in the video on my profile! That sounds like spam I know, but it's really not.

  • OMG, I love it! Thank you so much for putting this up! :D

Ralf's voice is really odd though,

sometimes it is really strong and other times it's really soft. You can hear it in some of their slower songs. Anyway, this is classic! It's a shame it was 7 years before I was born. I wanted to be there. :(

  • uno, due, tre, cuattro bella versione.

    all tomorrows parties anno 2080.

  • much cleaner that Shivaascending's version, nice aerial view of stage set. Wasy: backing track sounds identical to LP version, more minimal without synth overplay.

  • beam me up...

  • zeitlos.......

  • love this track..is it speed up..

  • i meant sped..spelling is wacked out...

  • classic
