Nothing would happen if you grabbed the drive shaft. It'll just keep spinning in your hand - the worse that'll happen is you'll get a red hand... it doesnt hurt.

Well im not going to grab a universal joint am i? I'm a marine engineer by trade, have been since the age of 14. The drive shaft... no problem, nothing will happen - but it's obvious if you grab a universal joint you'd rip your hands to bits.
