I guess sonatas are normally played with the piano while concertos (like its name) is meant to be played in concert with an orchestra. They both normally have three movements although some concertos have four.

Yes, she studies at Juilliard with Itzhak Perlman and Catherine Cho. She mentioned that in the PBS series From the Top.
