All I have ever wanted was a baby brother or sister...it's left an emptiness in my heart that will never be filled. My parents wanted '9 children just like Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.' I lost both my parents in my mid-20s. I have been seriously ill now for 10 years (I am 55). I have had 11 abdominal surgeries in 10 years; 8 within the past 4 years. I am now being scheduled for neurosurgery to relieve compression on spinal chord. I envy anyone who has siblings.
