infinite screen is just the screen goes to the edge of the laptop there is no raised up frame around the edge of the scren like in the wide screen. Personally I didnt spend the extra money on it. Its just visual but doesnt give you any more viewing area.

I was going to wait till end of May with the hopes that they would lower the price. What sold me on the HDX18T over the DV7T is he 1920x1080P display and the 2.53GHz processor and such. My only option is really to wait and see but I didnt really upgrade the HDX18T from the standard website configuration other than going with the 4GB ram upgrade from 2GB for free and the 64 Bit vista premium processor.

I'm feeling alot better now. HP is replacing my lemon dv9700t with this one. An upgrade in processor, graphics card, HD capacity, extra useful ports, etc. Just goes to show you that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Now I just have to resist the urge to put some games on it. I was going to buy a new Oct 14th Macbook pro. But they bumped the price up... i think i'll just stick with a pc laptop. Sooooo much cheaper and you get heaps more stuff. Trade off - style/brand/osx for affordability/mostly better specs.
They said titanium coating but the keyboard has a special coat that makes sure the keys don't smudge over time. So in other words its shiny, but its easier to clean.

On the new 2010 version, DV7T SE a new advantage is:
-those Headphone & Mic connections are at the SIDE of the lapp.
See: if you hold the lapp in your chair, on this model in the video
and connect earphones and mic set - they will be kicking you in
your: TUMMY ! (applause for me here). (it hurts, and it's - inconvenient).
So: don't bother with this one, and look for SE edition of Dv7t,

lucky bastard...i wanted the dv7t but it was out of stock everywhere...(at bestbuy)... i dont buy from manufactorers... but instead got a dv7-1285dx.... hehe... this blows the dv7t out of the water and into a minefield and into a pond of acid then on a pile of razor sharp jagged rocks.... lol..

if you REALLY REALLY want that 18 inch screen, theni guess go for the hdx

it's just ... better than average laptop speakers. I have the same laptop (with similar specs) and even when playing a blu-ray movie, it won't be AMAAZING quality, but the subwoofer certainly adds to the quality of the sound when going mobile...

much better sound i got a toshiba satalite p300 with a subwoofer and a harmon kardan speaker and there siccccc sound is fucking clean and i got a 3650hd 320gb hdd 2,0ghz processor and built ing camera and mikrophone and special design blue waves fingerprint reader bluetooth full zize keyboard and a 17inch screen

I'm feeling alot better now. HP is replacing my lemon dv9700t with this one. An upgrade in processor, graphics card, HD capacity, extra useful ports, etc. Just goes to show you that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Now I just have to resist the urge to put some games on it. That's not why I need it.
Full sized right side Shift key that the dv9700t didn't have is a plus.

I was going to buy a new Oct 14th Macbook pro. But they bumped the price up... i think i'll just stick with a pc laptop. Sooooo much cheaper and you get heaps more stuff. Trade off - style/brand/osx for affordability/mostly better specs.

They said titanium coating but the keyboard has a special coat that makes sure the keys don't smudge over time. So in other words its shiny, but its easier to clean.

I got the dv7 for $650. It does not have the finger print, the sub woofer or the remote. I still feel like I got good bang for the buck. My first beef with it is it will not let me enlarge YouTube video's.
