GREAT VIDS MrColt45acp. I'm addicted to the 1911 and it would seem you are too. Picked up my Colt 1911 today from the gun shop. Its a Government model from 1963 as per the serial number. Good part is it has the Micro competition sights (adjustable). Bad part is the orig owner polished and re-blued it so the value went down. The blue job is great though like a mirror finish close to my Colt Python. Picked it up for $450 from a consignment, orig slide and frame!!
@thallium200 i just sent a message to the man himself regarding a colt 45. if you know of another deal like that, i'll pay you to tell me about it! hahaha congrats on your firearm! i cant wait for that sort of deal
wonder why Colt got rid of one out of their archives? Well it was good for us, we got to see it now! Very neat looking gun, looks like whomever did the finish job was good at it. Thanks once again for showing us a great piece of history!!
Truly a Unique Pistol!! If You MrColt45acp could have 1 pistol in the Collection Just curious what 1 you would pick ? I think I would like the Case Hardened series 70 in a previous video. Thanks Great Channel Great Videos and Sooo Sooo Interesting ...
@chrischiampo If I had 1 pistol in the collection to pick it would be Government Model Serial Number C 14. It shipped in 1912 in the first batch of 50.
i'm sorry, colt abandonded the commercial/civilian market years ago, they need a major act of contrition to get back into good graces. a slick paint job for boo-koo bux doesn't cut it, bring back the .380 for $400, that might be pennance, a $2000+ .45ACP is a joke! do they think they're god? or obama?
@mrbadx19 The COLT.45 is simply the crème de la crème! Fuck springfield armory, kimber and every other joke that tries to imitate the colt 45. Nothing but elegance, sophistication and performance all in one. From the unique finishes to the grips with the gold colt medallion. I'd pay 2000+ for a colt gold cup series 80 or a nickel plated .38super match. And sure they're not god, nor obama, but they are every other 45acp's DADDY!
Would you happen to know how that was accomplished? It's a little confusing. Was it sort of a dyno coated paint scheme? But that would have been before the Dyno coat painting came along. I'd be thankful to know how this was done - especially on a factory Colt. Also - I have 6 colts - 3 series 70 & 3 series 80's. How would I go about getting information regarding them - especially their collector's value - IF ANY =- lol. Thanks. Sincerely, JAMES.

The paint looks very well done, but I would still prefer a Colt Royal Blue finish.

too bad colt doesn't market more to private sales, I'm sure we'd see many more in shooting sports.
