How about the Eurobahn to Venlo? Will the Deutsche Bahn still run the trains the next few days or months, or does the EBA finally allow the ERB to drive with it's FLIRT's on their network? I think the strange thing is, that the DB and Cantus are also drive services with FLIRT's, and I never did hear about problems when they were started their services with this type of train. By the way: nice movie with these trains how they blow the snow in the air.
The problem affects only the newest generation of the FLIRTs from Stadler, like the ERB has some of them. The FLIRTs of DB and cantus are a bit older. Currently the ERB only drives to Mönchengladbach and the DB regio takes the passengers from Mönchengladbach to Venlo with class 111 and n-coaches, like the old RE13.
This will be the same situation in January and perhaps February.
The FLIRTs of the ERB aren't allowed to drive the line between Kaldenkirchen and Venlo ;)
So if I understand it correct, the ERB hasn't got permission from the Dutch rail autorities to drive their FLIRT's to Venlo? But I have seen some video's with test rides to Venlo. Weren't they a succes? The past few days (thursday till tuesday) were big problems on the Dutch railroads, due to the heavy snow. The NS only drove the half of the normal timetable. Many points on the tracks (Weichen) were frozen. Strange was that private companies (like Veolia) on local lines drove the full timetable.
