Atleast he wasn't trying to knock the guy out he was just going for a big hit thats all. thats why players wear helments just incase they get hit in the head. hed contact happens in hockey not all of them are on purpose. Hockey is a contact sport/ the greatest.
Hits like this seem a bit unnecessary...late in the season, and if Arsene is a nobody trying to prove himself, a hit like that shouldn't do it...he has to come WAY up the ice to deliver it...
@NHLArchive I guess you are proof that "You can't fix stupid." Stop the video at 35 seconds. He left his feet to go after Shepards head. Your statement of "you can hit however you want whenever you want, this is hockey" proves you don't know jack shit about the game.
@darkphoenix2 there paid to play hockey! not finish out a season , im betting Pat Quinn liked that on team full of pussies like the oilers, the oilers are assessing who they want to keep for next year, and this only helps arsene believe me
That's a classic example of when a fight after a hit should be tolerated. The kid left his feet and lead with an elbow. Wake up, Chicken Parm. You're getting dumber and dumber by the day. Arsene is lucky Scott didn't crank him once more and stuck to the "code", whatever that is these days....
@NHLArchive booo hooo , hockey is getting so soft! clean hit ! i rememeber back in minor kids used to get laid out 3 times a shift , now its OMG he got rocked jump him!
@PocketHercules99 are you seriously saying this to me? I don't even think it is a bad hit, have you seen the 100s of hit videos I post? You are a clueless idiot.
It's not a "solid hit" as you say Ray but a shot to the head (leaving his feet) that the NHL is trying to eliminate. Kudos to Scott for stepping up. Bad misconduct call.
I'd like to see John Scott give Zdeno Chara or Lucic an injury, that would make my day.

@NHLArchive Agreed. Man up or get off the ice.

@NHLArchive That's a dumb statement. You can't leave your feet to nail a guy in the head. That's why Scott was going to pummel him.

@34muggsy34 you are wrong, and you're calling me dumb?
tinyurl . com / yjda624 his feet are clearly on the ice when contact is made, and it shows the elbow missed sheppard, you fail

That was not a "clean" hit as described in that head shot video. He came across into Sheppards head, not straight on.
countrygentleman10 1 year ago
@countrygentleman10 he might have charged but it wasn't a dirty hit otherwise
NHLArchive 1 year ago
No need for a fight after that
toml08 1 year ago
@toml08 I usually don't condone fights after big hits but this one was borderline charging, Arsene took like 4 or 5 strides
