If you're talkn' about Amazing Spider-Man, Shinobi, well, its a matter of opinion.
If you haven't been keeping up with Spidey, they basically brought him back to square-#1. They made him a twenty-something guy, unmarried,or divorced (we dont know what happened to M.J.), living with his Aunt and having terrible luck in life cause he's stuck being SpiderMan.
I guess the old school fans are wetting themselves over this, but the younger fans like me hate it cause its the same stuff from years back
I was a fan Grant Morisson then he did the mind screw that was his last few issues of New X-Men that was so bad that years from now I am still won't know what annoyed me more a) Couldn't he have ended his run on a better note or b) My subscription didn't run out before that drek was sent to my house
Morrisons Planet X arc would have made sense, if Bendis, Qusada, and Clairmont hadn't screwed Morrison over by saying it wasn't Magneto that tore NYC apart and got killed Jean.
What really pisses me off is that after they hire Morrison to revamp Xmen in 2001, and he does the job, they completely reverse and erase everything he created!
I enjoy your show and the reviews. I just wish that you would let a little defense on the JLA 19 part of the show. I like to hear the actual thoughts and ideas more then lots of jokes.
how to answer my comments, step 1, scroll down, step two, put together letters into phonetic sounds to make words, step three, combine those words into sentences, step four, answer the comment itself
okay, here is the first question: what is your attitude towards the religious issues in comic books? from mcfarlane's spawn to constantine, battle pope to invisibles - which one do you like and/or hate?
question 2: which is the best drawn brawl/fighter you have seen?
being into martial arts, I really recommend frank miller's work -daredevil, wolverine, sin city, batman. he really knows how to draw a fight.
my favourite is Richard Corben, and the worst thing he did is NOT MAKING MORE STUFF!!!
It is so weird watching reviews online of comics because so many people are interested and critical of things I don't even give a second thought to anymore. Writing is important, but comics today in my opinion are written so poorly (for the most part) I've stopped reading them. I find I only buy comics now for the art. Like the new ultimates 3. Joe Mad has been doing amazing, ut the writing is so bad it pains me to not tear the book into little pieces. We need a comic art review show too. =]
Justin is totally right..Comic Book Villains was a horrible movie and i can't believe James Robinson wrote and directed that piece of crap. You'd think that a comic book writer would know how to write how Nerds think. No, he just cast D.J. Qualls to generalize his entire audience.
I agree about Byrne's first year of Alpha Flight. Such a different way to introduce a team. Kinda petered out waaaaaaaaaaaaaay before it ended tho. I waited for you guys to talk about Penance 5, and you didn't. I feel like with all the teasing Pete had to endure, you decided to spread the torment. Love the idea of 3 shows a week! Imperius Rex!
Watchmen is the best graphic novel to date! I didn't read it as separate issues but, somehow stumbled upon it on Amazon and bought it. You miss so much of what's going on if you don't read and look at the art. It's very well done. There is nothing wrong w/ it.
I would suggest you read the whole book like I did; as a collective. That made it more understandable and thus more enjoyable.
OMG...that book is up there w/ Ovid's Metamorpheses.
Above was a reply to devil72790, I don't know why it got posted separately.
From the first panel of that novel to the last panel it's chilling how thought provking that novel is and how relevant it is to date. The latter part reminds me of The Dark Knight and it's relevance to today; how Batman is so angry w/ the state of the "state" and how he hates the police state that it has become; how the "president" is feeding on the fear that he has instilled in the people. Man....comics are great!
please please PLEASE review the Omega Unknown series. I really am on the line about buying the series (I rarely do. More of a trade copy gal) and you guys tend to be on the dot about these sort of things. PLEASE!!!
Actually Donna Troy was already screwwd up before Byrne... I say that was kinda Marv Wolfman's fault for killing Diana in COIE... Or do you recall how many origins did Donna have after COIE???
Well that is sort of true, but don't forget after COIE Donna was Wonder Girl before Diana, ever became Wonder Woman... Hence retconning her Amaazon background... I never read the Byrne Wonder Woman, but I did hear about that Donna being apart of Diana's soul...
Your Jewish? Oh your like Brain Micheal Bendis or Kitty Pryde or some character or writer like that. There needs to be more Jews in Marvel. To Daredevil to Moon Knight people with crazy ass religions but not that many Jews. Anyone no any more?
what's up with displaying comics on the table you are not even reviewing?.....but I do like the idea of having 3 vids a week....it would allow you to show case a little more of what's on each week..
I have to disagree with the best x-writer - in my mind, Peter David is the best and the most consistant right now. His X-Factor series has been nothing but brilliance for the past two years.
so gay. all

Donna had one origin. Wolfman added to it - made a few changes that made sense- after COIE. Byrne basically made her a "clone" of Wonder Woman.

Well that is sort of true, but don't forget after COIE Donna was Wonder Girl before Diana, ever became Wonder Woman... Hence retconning her Amaazon background... I never read the Byrne Wonder Woman, but I did hear about that Donna being apart of Diana's soul...
